also, this theory is suggesting that the heroes best course of action would be to convert Dawn into the blade of a riding mower. Hank Hill is the Prince that was Promised
In The World of Ice and Fire’s Essos chapters indicate that there was a population of CotF or a related species which occupied forests in the north of Essos
3:50 you have hinged videos? 17:08 don’t forget to give one to the library of congress, then your work will live forever 12:30 slashing is comic sans, sorry
@44:42 This may be a long shot but George Martin may be using climate theory for this in the books. It's believed that during colder periods on earth, grasslands become more common since larger plants have a harder time surviving, while warmer periods can host larger forests. Since these ideas were around in the early 2000's and 2010's, it's possible they influenced these sorts of ideas. There's also a theory that in the past the earth has been almost completely covered in snow, the "snowball earth" theory, I wonder if this was also an image in George's head?
Despite Tom saying Dany discussions turn ugly every time, I just wanted to thank this community for being so reasonable and tolerant. I've ventured into the comment sections in other corners of ASOIAF RUclips and always end up being insulted six ways to sunrise.
Interesting. I always interpreted those places titles to be poetic names for things we have in the real world. You could call Antarctica the land of always winter, for example
Hey guys, how do you like the theory emails to be laid out? Do you just want an idea and you guys figure out how we got there or do you need the trail as well?
Ooh interesting, we've never had one where we didn't know the conclusion at the beginning. Those ones are harder to do because we can't read them ahead of time, but if you sent one in we'd definitely try! That doesn't mean we'd be able to air it, because we might just not get it for 2 hours, but we'd definitely give it a shot
How about the possibilty that the weirwoods grew from ghost grass, The silver seaweed is Ghost grass that grows beneath the water and the others are ghostgrass that has been imbued with a human soul by shadow binding? This would make your sword Dawn is an alien spirit theory work.
I'm so worried about Tom. He's doing woodworking while podcasting? Odd, but not inherently unsafe. He's intoxicated, podcasting, and doing woodwork? Glad he made it out without getting maimed live on mic.
I’m of the demographic of ‘is nerd but loves football’. Unfortunately I’m a jets fan and you guys are bills fans, but we can all be happy that the patriots suck now
oh no, my bad theory and my bad opsec
You get George on, but only to talk football.
That's the pitch for sure, I can't imagine anybody being mad at that use of George's time lol

Assuming the Others and Ghost Grass have the same origin, perhaps the Children weren’t always relegated to Westeros.

i am picturing dragons setting never ending fields of ghost grass alight, burning with white flames

I like the chocolate flavoured m&m’s so appreciate the references. The legs on the purple one really gets my motor boating.
doran also says no ones afraid of the grass...
"Blugeon, Pierce, Slash" the name of your metal album composed solely of Little Mermaid covers but all the lyrics are rewritten about ASOIAF theories.
All of Toms best hitting efforts went into the theory instead of his construction project

I've found this too. Some communities get really nasty and this one never does. It's my favorite part about it.
Tom progressing the theory in this episode can only go 0 or 100, no in between.
The underground cave fish are described similarly to the fish in the river Ash... another link between Asshai and Winter
Long summers aren't magical? The is a land of always summer as there is a land of Always winter. Both seem pretty magical to me.

I always thought of ghost grass as a paralell of frost.

This was just one step one in a continuing process of Tom hitting himself with carpentry tools.

20 minutes in and you still havent begun to talk about the theory. Ive decided you dont value my time enough for me to give it to you. Thanks anyways.
You my friend enjoy the world in a much different fashion than I do. I wish you the best in future endeavors ❤️
