You carried TWO little people inside of you for NEARLY 9 months!! You got this SIS!!!
To anyone who is having hair issues. You're still Beautiful! This too, shall pass. 💕
Thank You, appreciate you 😘
I had the volume off...and while I was putting on the captions, I was watching, and I just knew that looked like post-partum shedding. 😢I love these babies, but why they gotta do us like that?
I had my first child a few years ago!!! When the shedding started I was so devastated and going through my own mental breakdown that I just chopped it all off
Did you take any vitamins or keep a specific diet after the baby was born?
Exactly 😢😢😢
Yeah; my hair is shedding as well! Good thing we can still do cute styles no matter how thin or thick our hair is.
Continue to take your prenatal vitamins
Postpartum shedding is so disrespect
Bruhhhhh I said the same thing !!! I didn't even watch the video yet. And said ohhh she got that after birth breakage. Did me dirty every single pregnancy. One part didn't even grow back in. Lol.
23 years ago (after my daughter) & I'm still hollering about some of my hair still missing on the right side... I told my daughter give it back!🤣🤣🤣
The last part of the story is very funny!!😇😇😇😇
Girl STOP😂😂😂!!! HILARIOUS!
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Postpartum shedding is no joke.I know your struggle. I spent more than a year dealing with it. Finally, I had to cut my hair. Thanks God, my hair is finally coming back to life. You got this sis❤❤❤❤
Green tea bags steep for 5-10 mins depending on the strength you want and spray it on your hair roots. It will stop the fall out. Coffee oil is also great post-partum
This is what I did. This really works.
My mom used to use tea on my hair growing up. I had really long, thick coarse hair.
any particular brand green tea? Thanx in advance
My postpartum shedding kicked in at 6 months. So annoying. Your hair came out FIRE.
Mine started at 8 months
I love how calm you are about it. You’ve been here before so you know it’ll come back. I was so sad when it happened to me. The style you created is bomb! 💖
For me, my hair was soo thick before birth amd the minute I stopped breast feeding, BAM, hair was failing out especially my hair line!! I quickly had to commit to simple protective style( loose bun, loose french braid). Made sure my scalp and hair was well moisturized and washed weekly Consistently. I ate more protein good quality fats and water. Also Take your prenatal vitamin pill ( mine was prescription strength). The shedding stopped at 2 months after but my hair grew faster and had amazing goof hair retention.. Motherhood is really something else!!😅
Happened to me 21 yrs. ago. It will grow back! Our children just don't know the sacrifice of our bodies go through!👀🙏
Thank you SO MUCH for sharing!! No one talks about so many critical changes in a woman’s body/hormones - cycles, pregnancy, post partum (ESP PP Depression), peri-menopause, menopause. And there’s a million topics on all of these!!! Tx again!! ❤
So true! I'm just coming across her videos...TODAY...and not ONLY was I taken back by how MAGICAL she can do these hairstyles, but also by her...idk...OPENNESS of sharing what she shared! This country has made MOST women uncomfortable to talk about...OURSELVES...w/ SOME men making THEIR hangups about women, OUR problem. I just felt so proud of her having no trouble 'telling it like it was', especially being so young. Glad I found her videos!
And literally _ALL_ boils down to ONE thing:
*HORMONES.*
Right there with ya, post partum shedding is no fun! I was hoping it'd skip me too lol and why does it have to be our edges smh. Our hair will be back in no time though!
It's always the edges!😭😭😭
Those clip-ins are an exact match 👌🏽 💜
I clicked this video so fast!
My front hair line was always thin but hair was there to style my hair.
After I had my daughter, 8 years ago. My edges became non-existent. I'm a natural hair girly, do protective styles in between my natural styles, low manipulation, heat only when blow drying and still not much luck growing back my edges.
My next step is a dermatologist.
You have been tried and true since I started following you 11 years ago.
A series of how you grow your hair back would be great. Understandably, you're a mom of 4 now, so take your time.
Good luck.
Sorry if you’ve heard this before but if you haven’t - try Rosemary tea or oil on the edges ? All the best 🙏🏾
It’s an iron deficiency although I eat enough greens in my day, with both pregnancies I had to take an iron supplement since I’m breastfeeding. Definitely grew back both times.
are you still taking your vitamins?
I experienced this was my second son but with my fourth son i was prepared. This is what i strongly recommend .
1. Prenatal vitamins until your done nursing
2.2 table spoons of Purple seamoss gel
3. Tea spoon of moringa powder in hot tea😮.
4. You could also do kale or spinach powder.
Externally I used
1. My bentonite clay shampoo bar every two weeks
2. My herbal hair butter/ used with heat
3 . Hair tea with Rosemary, Amla, shakiaka
4. My herbal hair oil.
5. Low manipulation styles only.
My hair went from bra strap to waistlength. I kept my hair in mini twist. This was work especially during nursing n hand expressing, but for postpartum diet taking care of your internal health by taking supplements is very crucial. I hope this helps.
Where did you find the clay shampoo (brand)? Thank you
I used the postpartum vitamins gummies and used some castor oil on my edges. Washing with a bit of aloe also seemed to help. Great clip in hack!
This was my second time around, with no loss the 1st time. I was DEVASTSTED 😢Loss edges, lost hair in clumps, got length but it became thin as the wind. At 9 months PP, I am finally past the profuse shedding. Now it's time for a cut and a new healthy hair journey. Best wishes to you as you help your hair recover, and congrats on your new additions
Have you considered a more natural edge control or gel? I’ve always heard negative reviews about eco styler and although I don’t have kids, I noticed that the edge booster thinned out my edges. Maybe switching to a more natural product or DIY may help you recover faster, but I do understand that postpartum must take its course. Wishing you a speedy recovery and love your content.
Omg!! Girl u r so REAL! Love u!! Im sssooo glad u share everyday stories with us.. U r showing things happen & it's ok. Things happen & they can b fixed. Thank u!💯💯👏👏💖💖💃💃🙏🙌🙌
My sentiments EXACTLY 💕
Take some b complex with iron, it can help you in your postpartum period.
Sorry I laughed when you said someone came to rub them off while you were sleeping. I know it’s not funny it’s how you said it.
I'm soooo serious 😂
You are still Beautiful ❤️, But here's another tip ( especially for thin edges) you can use eyebrow pencil, and also eye shadow, ( black, or dark brown) to fill in your edges!! It exactly gives the illusion of real hair!!
Have your doctor check your vitamin D level
Keep taking your prenatal vitamins!!! 😫🤎
I cried when I lost my hair after the birth of my twins. They were my only pregnancy and no one warned me. I thought I was sick or something was wrong with me.
Hey Kim at the beginning of your vlog. Doctors say that if you continue taking your prenatal vitamins for about 3-6mos after given birth, it should help with postpartum shedding.
You have to continue to take your vitamins months after the baby
I pray all is well love i know your a person that really take care of your hair i wish you speedy recovery on your hair growing back and more❤️🙏🏾
Hi, I'm a licensed cosmetologist of 24 years... Just offering some advice not sure if you have thought about this...
Pregnancy can cause nutrient deficiencies. Please get a nutrient or cell test to check your cell function as well as your vitamin, amino acids and mineral, phosphorus, protein levels.
You may have a B12, vitamin d or iron deficiency from pregnancy.
Please take care of your gut health as it may be out of balance.
It's not just an external issue it begins with internally and then our bodies reflect what's going on on the inside.. this is why you're seeing the hair shedding. It's your body's way of telling you that something is off. In the areas that you're shedding I can already tell you have a vitamin deficiency which more than likely may be iron.
Please check with your physician to regulate your vitamin levels and you'll be fine and your hair will bounce back very quickly.
Our babies take all of our nutrients while in the womb especially in the last trimester so we have to replenish.
Great video and all the best to you.😊
A celeb cosmetologist that got a degree in dermatology and studies the scalp told me : our bodies set off a growth hormone when pregnant.. this is why we grow so much hair EVERYWHERE! AFTER LABOR .. that hormone is no longer and the side effect is shedding . Also most the time us mothers are getting blood work as most doctors know exactly what your saying . So most the time it’s not a deficiency it’s the growth hormone triggered in pregnancy and the change once we are post partum . ❤
@@MissNamaSlay you are correct. It is hormonal and has to do with the pregnancy and by the way, Kim eats very healthy and I'm sure she did everything that her doctor told her to do
@@sable7114 right ! A lot of us take the vitamins …eat the food .. take care of our hair .. wear silk satin caps or pillow cases and it still happens because we are human and had a child come from us and things will change and sometimes go back and sometimes they don’t 🤷🏽♀️ depends on many things.. age .. genetics .. etc etc it’s not always a bad thing even though it feels like it .
Those clip-ins are pretty.
Girrrlll, I know. I stopped breastfeeding and my hair fell out in the same general area as yours. I never feared that I would lose it forever. Unfortunately my breastfeeding stopped because I had to go back to work and I was having difficulty but at least I was able to breastfeed for about 5 months. When I took a picture with my 4 month-old son👶🏽👶🏽, I used black mascara to cover up the bald spots! LOL! 😄😄😂😂
They say you have to continue with the prenatal vitamins and supplements
My hair loss stop after 3 months
This happened to me after I had my son. Lost my edges. Thought it was over for me. But my hair and edges grew back within the first year. Very scary tho.
Don't worry, Kim, it will grow back!
I went through postpartum shedding just like that! My edges left for a while but the thinning was more traumatic for me. It took about a year for my hair to bounce back. I also wore protective styles and practiced low manipulation of my hair.
Im 6 months post partum and mine cid this too my hair is long but i lost my edges, i can now say after 2 months of miracle drops and hairfinity regimens my edges are back
What are miracle drops?
The sheading hair after having a baby was a challenge for me. I had it with all three pregnancies. You make any situation with your hair work!! Your hair will grow back full and beautiful as it always has been, Kudos to you for sharing.
Post partum is so hard. Fenugreek tea (ingest and scalp spray) works like magic 👍🏼
Keep taking your prenatal vitamins
Only if her doctor advises that. Prenatal vitamins can be bad for you as she's no longer prenatal. Getting too much of something, with her excellent eating habits, can be a bad thing for her.
I DID NOT LIKE THIS 😢😢😢 I definitely wasn't as matter of fact about it as you 😅 Didn't help that I was also already depressed, lonely and isolated PP. I didn't want to look in the mirror and definitely wasn't attempting cute styles this. You are a positive person ❤ I love the baby but phases, nope.
My hair is really thin and fine I stopped the perms years ago still going through the shedding but glad to know I am not alone and I am sure your experience will be better
If "I can make it work" was a person. Kim? You are amazing.
Since you had twins this time around, it's probably why you see more shedding than usual. It'll grow back. ☺
Exactly! Kim is like "Postpartum Shedding. I Got You"!
I just did the big chop my hair was just coming out left and right. My daughter just turned 10 months. I was over it. Lol
My hair thinned after my first child and my edges came out with my second child. Taking my prenatals did help but take it one day at a time. It gets better.
Yes same. Then I lost weight too so it was even more. This last pregnancy I gained so much hair too. I was hoping to keep it but nope lost every bit of it.
That blended flawlessly! Thanks for the video.
Hey Kim! You’re amazing the hair looks just like your natural texture. I pray that the shedding stops asap & you grow the hair back twice as fast.💨❤
The same thing happened to me when I had my 5 year old
❤❤❤
Yes!
Yeah! I love this big curly hair style. I typically wear natural hairstyles during the spring and summer time.
Those clip ins definitely mimics your natural wash n go texture. You look absolutely beautiful💖 fyi. I was told for new moms to continue taking prenatal vitamins it helps with preventing hair loss🤔
You are not alone, that's for sure. This happened to ne after my last born. SAME spots and all. I used jamican black castor oil to grow my edges back. It worked miracles
Damn, that's not normal loss for you? That's light for me. 😂😂😂😂
I had this after my son. Edges just got ghost lol. I used some coconut oil and Jamaican black castor oil and it worked for me.
Awww. I hope your hair recovers from shedding soon. Just make sure you take out the time to continue massaging your scalp with oil for regrowth. ❤
Definitely try rice water, that's what helped me grow my edges and fullness back
Your hair is beautiful! & it will grow back. What made the process skip me is me eating leafy greens, bell peppers, broccoli, avocados, carrots, kale, tomatoes, celery, & especially cabbage. I used to take fenugreek supplements as well. My hair is tailbone length now. Best wishes 💖
God bless, everything will work out, thanks for sharing!!
Pregnancy is harder on the body the older you are. It’s just that simple. Hang in there. Rosemary oil, zinc and marine collagen
For now you can get some black beeswax that will help until it grows back in I had my daughter a year ago mines fell out too. Good luck 👍
That postpartum shedding is traumatizing. It got me real bad I had no edges at all and I didn’t even do tension styles.
It happens to the best of us! It’s great you have a solution to cover it up and “keep it cute”! 👌🏾🥰
Beautiful! That hair is giving CHIC AND NATURAL!! Love, love, love! 💕
Mine did that after I had my son… Girl
I was CRYING 😅… I thought I was gonna be bald headed… ! … After I got all the clumps of hair out and detangled… I put my hair in a wet ponytail twisted and did NOT touch it for days… it helped… the idea is to give a rest from handling… hopefully you can put it in a style to give it a rest… Blessings my sustah🎊🩷
Are you still talking your prenatal vitamins? It helps with hair loss.
You should continue to use your prenatal vitamins for a year after birth to keep your hair
I lose more hair than that and I don’t even have kids
I had twins and my hair did this for the first time. My last pregnancies my hair didn't shed as much at all. But... it is growing back now. I can actually see the difference in thickness in my roots which is WILD. Lol
The clip in’s look so natural.
My baby is 18 months old and I’m just starting to recover from my baldness😂
I ❤️ this hairstyle it's amazing.
Can't wait for my future twin pregnancy, lord I receive.... 😅😅😅😅
Zinc Copper Iron Selenium Iodine Rosemary Oil Scalp Massages (10 minutes 4-5x per week)
You never fail with ideas 😍
Continue taking your vitamins and expecially vitamin D. Usually what cause temple and edge shedding.
Hey Kim! Good morning! 🙏🏽 🎉❤
Hey, research Aloe Vera and Avocado mixture on RUclips. This mixture is a great detangler before shampoo. Also research Collagen powder for hair growth.
Hey im not sure if you're doing this but be sure to still take your prenatal vitamins ESPECIALLY if breastfeeding. Vitamins offset the substantial amount of nutrients our bodies lose during the breastfeeding process. A doula recommended this to me after the birth of my second.
Sis, I’m so sorry about your hair shedding, I’m sure it’ll grow back really soon. Can you update us on the babies??
Good morning, Kim!! I love that hair! I didn’t experience hair loss with my girls but with my last child (boy) I did! I took a pic of my edges, omg it was horrible! I mixed Olive Oil & Jamaican Castor Oil, put it on my edges everyday. That’s what grew my edges back.
Yes that’s normal during post partum the hormonal changes…it’s so bad too bc the hair flourishes during pregnancy then after it’s like BYE GIRL WE OUT! my edges were gone I shaved my head post partum during a few of my pregnancies
My mama took the prenatal vitamins two years after giving birth to avoid the shedding
This happened to me after having triplets. My doctor said I should have continued taking my vitamins. I had to get a short pixie cut with a left comb over.
My edges toe up friend. I had a baby a year ago. Hahaha
I had the same thing happen after my last son birth now I’m 42 I had locs to my shoulders I remember how I felt and my hair now is about 4 inches I started all over. I prayed and began to just condition it and oil and thank God it’s growing back. My edges got thin and everything. I used biotin as well and was told I should have continued taking my prenatals. I just put my wig on and keep it moving it will grow back. During my pregnancy omg my hair was so thick lol. Now my son is almost 2 and my hair did the worst between 6 months post up till about 1 and 1/2. I have 7 children and every pregnancy was different.
Had my daughter 5 months ago and had the same issue. Sis get rid of the brush. I came to realize the detangle brush pulled my hair out. I guess my hair got super soft but I have been doing protein treatments regularly and put away the brush for now. To bad my edges had to go before I realized
Rosemary ,horsetail, black tea hair spray works I've been tru this my grew back and thicker also do scalp massages also incorporate drinking alot of black tea and green tea with rosemary leaves❤❤
My hair is always shedding so I'm going on a Chebe journey but I had been thinking of clip in just because my hair shrinks so much and I want to wear my hair out more. I hope your shedding doesn't last too long 💕
Are y’all still taking the prenatal vitamins while postpartum? My doctor told me not to stop the vitamins to aid in shedding.
That hair loss after giving birth is real. I usually use mascara or black edge control. I gel it down then add mascara
I didn't watch the whole video but as a fellow mom, check your iron levels.
You look gorgeous. Do you think you can wear clip ins to the gym? I'm a fitness instructor and have been worried to wear wigs or clip ins to the gym.
Also do clip ins cause any breakage? Great video
Thank you for talking about this. My postpartum shedding came about 10 months after. I’m working on growing it back now. I notice my nails are weaker too. One of my toenails even broke.
Thank you for this video postpartum ain't no joke
So sorry to hear that you going through this hair loss. I really hope and pray that your hair grow back soon. Thank you for sharing keep up the good work looking forward to seeing your VIDEO again so beautiful great day. The clip in making you beautiful great job on you.
I’m surprised that the clip ins aren’t pulling your hair out also. This looks so cute!!!
You make every hair style look so EASY and BEAUTIFUL. Your hair will grow back in no time! Nice video per usual ❣
Girl I'm going through this too 😩. I'm 5.5 months postpartum
Now this is something I heard & tried, b/c I had crazy shedding possibly due to my PCOS…& green tea really does work. Brew some, spray it on (I also add conditioner, b/c it makes the hair hard), let it sit, rinse it out.
I have PCOS too, I do black tea rinses in the fall because my hair sheds like this in the winter. It always works.
Wow, this looks like my wash-and-go texture!! Never used clips-ins before but I’m considering it now.
