The NXT is a major improvement in grip when the ball gets wet (and even dry). I’m not a huge fan of the feel, that said. The chalky, foamy feel when brand new and then plasticky, foamy feel when broken in just isn’t my personal preference. Very soft and “airy” ball. Great ball. But the dulled swish is the vibe killer for me.
"The chalky, foamy feel when brand new and then plasticky, foamy feel when broken in" probably sounds crazy to most people but you're SPOT ON with that description 😂
As someone new to the sport, I'm wondering why they don't make the balls a consistent weight? Wouldn't this massively throw off someone's game (especially for professional and semi-professional players?). Or are they just quick to adjust? Thanks!
Pretty sure they’re all around 22 OZ for size 7, maybe with some slight variations in terms of grams. For whatever reason though, some definitely feel heavier than others, and it’s noticeable when shooting. It can definitely affect your release and take time to adjust to certain basketballs. The average person may not even be able to discern the difference, but very serious players could tell you every different nuance between basketballs (not to make excuses, just observations).
It could throw it off, but I don't think massively for pro or semi-pro players. At that level you've seen and shot every basketball on the market damn near so you'll be able to adjust. What you tend to find is that the higher level pro basketballs get lighter and lighter, not really sure why. My guess is the weights have a lot to do with the weight of the materials used.
That's wild but also good to know. I was thinking maybe I should start with a heavier ball so that way if I switched, I wouldn't be undershooting for the rest of my life 😂 Thank you both!

What would you reccomend for 2024? Abd can the evo nxt be used outside?

Evo nxt is too light. Weighted at 582g vs evolution 600g. It can really throw off your shooting because it’s too light
Love this video 📸
Depends what batch you get I guess. My Evo NXT - 588g. My Evolution - 594g
Did you get your EVO from 2021 and after or before?
@@Love2Hoop I got mine only a few months ago in 2022, so after.
Is the Wilson evolution better than the Wilson evo next for shooting ?
It's a preference thing but I personally think so. I think the evolution is a little more consistent.
I use the Wilson evolution outdoors
Bought both checked the weight. Evo nxt is too light
Evolution - 600g
Evo nxt - 582g
Can we get a longer review on thsi

Anyone tried the nxt replica? Is it the same ball?
I haven't yet but I'm looking forward to catching one.
The weight difference is negligible.
Boy I had to learn what "negligible" meant to even reply to this comment 🤣 #irony
The autistic part of my brain really wants to touch this ball
That's everyone that sees this basketball.
I hate this ball so much… the OG evo is way better
It feels too plushy
That's a GREAT word to describe it.
No it doesn't! It's just a ball.
Is the ncaa evo nxt replica the same ball
Man I'm not sure because i haven't gotten that ball yet but it looks a lot like it.
Anyone tried it? I really wanted to grab the replica
@@jwatson181I just copped it my shi otw
@@user-ri6vr6es9x I grabbed it as well. I wasn't a fan. The groves were massive
