I recently got the new ncaa replica game ball that mimics the Evo Nxt in color and looks and so far at least compared to the regular Evolution similar in feel and softness by touch I just got it at Ross for $10 on Thursday Dec 14, 2023 it’s Monday 5:41 PM EST Dec 18, 2023 on me writing this and the touch, feel, and softness got noticeably a lot better especially with really bad weather here in Miami FL hopefully it’s right at Wilson Evolution levels of softness I feel like it’s kinda getting there
The NCAA replica is actually a really nice basketball for outdoors. I lived in North Miami for a few years going to Barry and the weather out there is ideal for that basketball. The humidity will actually help soften the ball and help it stay softer.
Yeah I figured I was also playing in them in bad weather here in Kendale Lakes and always landed in a puddle every time I made a shot which is a lot in practice I said it because a lot of reviews said it kinda firm and doesn’t have a great bounce at the current moment my batch I compared to the current Wilson Evolution not the 2000s variant with the Times New Roman font on Evolution which felt a tad firmer in terms of that soft feel and touch also my has amazing and consistent bounce

It felt weirdly good using the Wilson EvoNxt, it has that good grip for dribbling but shooting felt weird due to its weight and grip. I tore the skin under my nail bed because of the EvoNxt ball.
You never realize how much heavier an Evolution is compared to other basketballs until you start playing with other basketballs. The EVO feels incredible, but I can't shoot for shit with that thing🤣
People saying that their Evolutions are heavy, yet mine is lighter than the EVO NXT...My Evolution is 582 grams and the Evo NXT is 600 grams. My EVO NXT is FIBA Champions League basketball.
I’ve always grown up with evolution !!! I’m in my 20s now but been hitting the gym more. I’m pretty crafty with my dribbling , good shooter but I have a flat shot but working on it. Should I go with this ???? Or buy a new evolution
Honestly if you have a flat shot with an Evolution I don't think you'll have one with the EVO because of how the ball feels so light when you shoot it. YOu may need to ADD more arch to get the touch correct on this shot.
I think they need to universally make every basketball the same weight and size for every ball. Yes they all say size 7 but some are larger due to more cushion like the Evolution and Baden Elite. Shooters need to have consistent balls in order to master the shot without having to adjust to the weight of different balls. It's fine if you want to make it different material for a softer fell or more cushion for a softer bounce but they need to make the circumference of the leather padding to be the same. I fell like they measure size 7 by the bladder and not the outer material leading to some balls being larger than the rest.
This is an incredible comment! I agree 100% that if all the companies kept the same weight and design we'd probably have better shooters. But... I'd have no RUclips channel 😂😂
Aye I think I know exactly what you mean 🤣 The ball definitely helps compensate for a players lack of shooting strength from 3 (lighter ball), maybe not the best handle (softer composite leather), or if you have a low arching shot (softer core for friendlier bounces on the rim).
See you speaking from that stolen basketball place, and I know that place. Trust me, when I bring my NBA ball and we don't use it, I damn near zip it UP in my duffle no capp

I'm not sure about the sizing difference but you should be good. The only issue I've ever experienced with sizing is with the Molten basketballs where they don't feel like a full size 7. This ball may FEEL a little smaller, but a lot of that is the cushioning. The newer NCAA EVO don't have that problem, they feel right on weight and size.
So like a full OG wilson comparison video? I was thinking of doing an EVO vs Evolution video but if I had to rank the 4 IMO: Solution, NBA, EVO, Evolution

My question is this.. are both balls legal to use for highschool? Reason I ask is because my son recently played a playoff game where they used this ball. Not knowing the difference now until I saw this video would using this ball as a team who has never used it vs a team who practices with the ball regularly give that team a competitive advantage?? Because as you say the ball is lighter so there would be an adjustment period that the team that never used it may not get used to in a matter on one game. If you understand the question. Thanks.
Any time you play with a basketball different than the one you train with it's going to be difficult. When I was in high school it was a school by school basis on which ball they would use. One school would use a Baden, next school Spalding, last school Wilson. It most certainly could create an advantage for the home team, but any home team could say that if the visiting team has never used that ball before. Great question!
@@Love2Hoop your right about the any home team thing.. but I feel like rules should be uniform to make it as fair as possible.. the team we played also had none breakaway rims on their main court but not on their side court.. What do you think would this ball last at least a year on outdoor courts (if I'm playing 5 times per week at summer, once per week at winter)? I don't have indoor courts so i must play outdoors but i want a high quality ball. If not, do you have any suggestions what other indoor balls can I take outside?
If there was one basketball I would say DO NOT use outdoors it would be the NXT. The ball is meant for indoor, and honestly clean indoor at that. I haven't tried the Authentic Indoor/outdoor but I've heard good reviews. The NCAA replica is great for outdoor and not bad indoor as long as you clean it before playing indoors.

If I could only have one for 1 year I would choose the NXT. If I had to have it for more than 2 years I'm going Evolution. To me the Evolution gets better after the 3-4 year mark. Before then it feels too bulky and heavy.
Thanks for the review. I purchased this NCAA NXT. I ordered it thorough Wilson and got my name stamped on it. It's a nice ball. Is there any video evidence of you going 7 for 7 from the three point line? 🙂
You understand that 7outof 7 in baskteball means he missed the 8 ? Whats so tricky about the number? In warmup when I feel good hand, I ask my guys to pass me the ball and making 10/10 just to be sure , they appreciate whom they play with :D
I think they got rid of it because they transitioned into the EVO Nxt to be the new college ball. They still have the NCAA Replica which is similar, but I think they wanted the EVO to be the new Solution.
Oooow see I knew someone was gonna hit me with this tough question. To be honest, brand new it feels WAY better than the Solution. But I can feel that over time it could feel like the solution the same way the solution feels once it's fully broken in if that makes sense. Love that question curt!
Great video, I was wondering how the ball was as well. Here in Michigan a lot of people play with the Wilson evolution too. I’m waiting on the Wilson NBA official game ball. How do you feel about the Wilson NBA official game ball now that you’ve had it for a while?
I still love my Wilson NBA ball and honestly that's the ball I take with me to the gym. Part of it is to continue to try to break in the leather slowly to see if that gives me a softer feel vs using a chemical. It's also a bit of a flex because that ball is STILL sold out. I missed on it twice before I got mine so I know the feeling.
It’s too light weight for me that why I’m sticking with evolution . It’s been times on fast breaks I had to be careful not to smoke a layup it seems bouncy and light weight
Definitely agree. I actually think on layups I have better control with the EVO than the evolution but I tried transition jumpshots and it took a minute to knock a few in a row
@@Love2Hoop thanks man I hated the solution at first but now my fav balls grips so well just gotta wipe it down in dusty courts but gets marked very quick. How much lighter is the evo?
Still reccomend this ball? They FINALLY just came back in stock on Wilson's website. It's either this or the Evolution for me. Looking to find something to use for 2 to 3 years to develop my game. 34 years old and finally wanting to take basketball seriously. Would love to play in some men's pick up games
I would recommend this basketball for a new hooper, but the Evolution is a good choice too because most places use that ball. I think learning ballhandling and getting confident shooting from deep will come faster with the NXT.
@@Love2Hoop Appreciate the response. If Evolution is as common though in pickup games would that not be the one to go with? I worry that I may get lazy developing my fundamentals feom range with a lighter ball like the NXT
For the people in the comments the weight on the Nxt varies I believe as I seen some reviews weight as little as 575. I just got mine the Bal edition and weights exactly 592 grams. However when I first got the solution it weight 595 but now is 601 which is odd. So far liking the ball feel
@@Love2HoopI recently bought the BAL Evo NXT and I love it. Though I will say i've had to really push to use it in pick up games since most players are used to the evolution. I think once you make the adjustment this is a better ball.
The Reaction Pro is a ball that's not sold in the United States, I'd have to order that from Europe. The closest comparison would be maybe a Wilson Jet Pro
evo nxt ball is too light weighted only at 582.4g. it will throw off your shooting if you're used to evolution and other heavier ball. i made a mistake buying this ball smh.. will buy the regular evolution instead..

I thought it would be the same with the wilson evo nxt, but obviously not. I have tried the authentic indoor/outdoor ball and I can say it doesn't feel very good for me. Thanks for your help
But what would you say, Evolution or EVO nxt? Which Ball do you Like more?
If I could only have one for 1 year I would choose the NXT. If I had to have it for more than 2 years I'm going Evolution. To me the Evolution gets better after the 3-4 year mark. Before then it feels too bulky and heavy.
Thanks for the review. I purchased this NCAA NXT. I ordered it thorough Wilson and got my name stamped on it. It's a nice ball. Is there any video evidence of you going 7 for 7 from the three point line? 🙂
Funny you should ask, I just found a video of myself going 4-4 with dribble moves from 3 with the EVO. Gonna upload that short this week.
@@Love2Hoop sweet. As long as there is no camera trickery. 🙂
You understand that 7outof 7 in baskteball means he missed the 8 ? Whats so tricky about the number? In warmup when I feel good hand, I ask my guys to pass me the ball and making 10/10 just to be sure , they appreciate whom they play with :D
Do you know why they removed the Wilson Solution off of the Wilson basketball website?
I think they got rid of it because they transitioned into the EVO Nxt to be the new college ball. They still have the NCAA Replica which is similar, but I think they wanted the EVO to be the new Solution.
@@Love2Hoop oh ok make sense
Yo bro it’s on BSN Sports fam. I just bought one from them today ! They got em brand new
@@castdreamzentertainment4991 drop the link my guy that ball is iconic!
How does it compare to the wilson solution?
Oooow see I knew someone was gonna hit me with this tough question. To be honest, brand new it feels WAY better than the Solution. But I can feel that over time it could feel like the solution the same way the solution feels once it's fully broken in if that makes sense. Love that question curt!
Yes… yes it is.
Bro I’m just gonna get it because it’s what my highschool uses in game. If I get used to it now, it’ll definitely give me an advantage
Is the Wilson encore good?
It’s a good basketball if you’re looking for something to use outdoors, but I would go with something different if indoor is what you’re looking for
I know you said this in your encore video but it didn't make much sense, on like how the panels are too big, like why is it a bad indoor ball
Nice Review man!
Appreciate the support!

A difficult shot to block!!
I’m scared to buy one bc as soon as I have to use another ball in game I might be a walking brick
You might not be a walking brick but the first couple might be waaaay off lol
The evolution is definitely better in my opinion
You can't go wrong with an Evolution
This or solution loved the solution over the evolution
Daaang that's a tough one. I'm leaning towards the Solution because I think it's most consistent for shooters, but it's really close.
I originally wanted the BAL version of the NXT but found this one for a little cheaper so I pulled the trigger on it.
@@Love2HoopI recently bought the BAL Evo NXT and I love it. Though I will say i've had to really push to use it in pick up games since most players are used to the evolution. I think once you make the adjustment this is a better ball.
From first experience. It’s TOO grippy. Feels like an outdoor ball
Reaction pro basketball Wilson can you check it out?
The Reaction Pro is a ball that's not sold in the United States, I'd have to order that from Europe. The closest comparison would be maybe a Wilson Jet Pro
@@Love2Hoop alright
@@Love2Hoop decent ball tho
@@nicknett8 It is.
@@tonychen3368 for outside I’d use it or the evo I play with outside
Wilson evo nxt or molten bg5000
I haven't used the 5000 before so NXT by default. But I'd guess the 5000 is really nice and I'm a fan of molten too
evo nxt ball is too light weighted only at 582.4g. it will throw off your shooting if you're used to evolution and other heavier ball. i made a mistake buying this ball smh.. will buy the regular evolution instead..
Hate how the evo feels when shooting. I hate the fact that the evo is the high school game ball and not the evolution. We pract with evolution since we only got 3 or 4 evo balls and usualyy i get evolution so i hate the evo
Practicing between an evolution and an evo is going to be rough for a lot of the players that's for sure.
Have you used the EVO NXT BASKETBALL AFRICA LEAGUE??
No not yet, but I assume it's the same basketball without too many differences other than the font.
@@Love2Hoop thanks for the reply! Have you used The Rock C2C ball?!
Review The Rock my man. Seems like only people who eat, sleep, breath basketball know about it. Will probably put you in the good graces of some old heads. lol
As long as those old heads have RUclips accounts and can leave comments I'll do it lol. I've been looking for one but I have a few basketballs I need to sell first to make room.
I have the FIBA version and love it...I think you will too
I'll have to look that one up
@@Love2Hoop it's the FIBA champion Evo it's colorful instead of the plain black letters....def would like a review if u get one
From what I can tell looking at it and reading the description it's the same ball only with a different color design.
🧢4:00 7/7? where's the video footage?
😂 imma make a short just for you and tag you in it. I feel tried 😂😂😂
@@Love2Hoop lol I hear you talking
Its a volley ball.. bad handles, weirdly light, you cannot drive hard, when its over inflated it gets even worst.
Idk why I never compared it to a volleyball but David you're 1000% right! 😂 The ncaa version is better but it definitely takes some getting used to initially.
I hate these .. hard ahh basketball
It’s the worst ball I’ve ever hooped wit
Maaan by the time I figured out how to use it, I sold it 😂
