the thing with the student loans is that they arent bankruptable. this allows banks on their end to push things more than they should have and approve loans that shouldnt have been approved. so responsbility is a two way street and the banks got a get out of jail free card. i get you not wanted the government to pay them off but the banks should have to assume risk on their end as well.

I have a student loan and the interest has killed me. I think they should be required to wipeout all interest on the student loans so that people can actually get their student loans paid off. I was never able to get ahead That was five years ago I now work 12 hours a day have a disabled son, and that has not been easy on me as a single parent.
