In this episode I continue explaining how to read birth charts by the principles of context, resonance, and confluence. Here I explain how to evaluate the combination of the Ascending sign/rashi and its Navamsha sign. And I discuss how to combine this with the interpretations from using the same resonance technique on the ascendant and lunar nakshatra.

hi Vic; I ordered your chart, and it's awesome! I fully recommend it to anyone, even seasoned astrologers. I plan to order one for my wife as well.Anyhow, I wanted to ask, do the nakshatras of the various planets play a role in interpreting the dasha and sub dasha periods? for example, if I have Jupiter in the Mula nakshatra, will the interpretation of Mula be relevant during my Jupiter dasha, or sub dashas? from studying my chart, my hunch is that they would.as a side note, I wanted to offer you my appreciation for affirming some astrological ideas for me. I've been practicing astrology as a hobby for maybe 10 years, and became frustrated with the Vedic/western dichotomies. to resolve this, I looked at the same charts, using tropical and sidereal zodiacs, and multiple house systems. From my observations, I concluded the "whole house" system, coupled with the tropical zodiac, gave the most accurate results. However, I also saw a lot of truth in the nakshatras, so...In short, your explanations have confirmed my observations, and made (what appeared to be conflicting) astrological ideas work together seamlessly. so thank you good sir!

Awesome vic! Saturn conjunct my moon makes me very pessimistic and down a lot. But all of my navamsa lagna, moon, and ascending sign are harmonious(i think). Sag-amsa, sravana, cancer rising. But since u are of the school that planets don't rule nakshatras, is it wrong to assume sravana is related to moon in this instance? Or is it right to assume that all my stuff is harmonious since all relate to jupiter or moon?

One question: while deviding ascendent degree in to 9 parts one can reach only to 9 rashies in D9. Is there any signification of the balance 3 unreachable D9 ..rashies ..Thanks..

Shouldn't the resonance/dissonance between navamsa ascendant sign and navamsa moon sign also be included in the genreral context analysis? (Why has the navamsa moon been ignored in the genral analysis?) Please reply Sir.

Sun gives light to the moon and hence moon appears bright to others. In astrology sun = self / father and moon = mind/mother. In Navamsa chart, if sun is in Scorpio and vargottama and moon is in Taurus and both are opposite to each other, what does it signify ? I heard somewhere that sun opposite moon has some significance in spiritual astrology. Any thoughts ?
Do you have tips on how to find the asc nakshatra and navamsa if i know the time of birth but there might be an error of 5 mins both ways(earlier and later)?

hey vic i just noticed u are using sidereal for nakshatra resonance and tropical for rashi and navamsa in einsteins case, can they be experimented with to see which fits ? and if so isnt the difference in degrees between the two really substantial and gives pretty big differences if navamshas and nakshatras are considered

and in the case of monroe if we consider sidereal it gives cancer rashi with capricorn navamsa and aslesha nakshatra that being the key factor here and in the tropical or sayana it gives magha nakshatra , with leo rashi and cancer navamsha . just from the nakshatras itself , the seductive , sensual , sexual qualities of aslesha fits monroe much more substantially than the royal quality of magha and ancestry , provided she had a royal aura and was regarded with a royal status but still her climbing the social sphere with her sexual ,and seductive prowess fits her personality to the T.
Wait? Is it true that rohini and u ash are enemy yonis? So how does it work for you if it so? Also do you agree with the nakshatra pair yoni compability numbers which are on the net? Do you even belive in yonis? Are they only for sex or can we interpret them in one person's chart too? What about friendship and other kind of relationships?

I have a short question:
After I have made a manual calculation to get to my Mars's D-9 sign, I got the number 3.51 (which is closer to 4)
Mathematically, that would be rounded up to 4, and thus, Mars in Libra in D-1 would be in Capricorn in D-9.
Or. do we always just round down and make it 3? And with this Mars should be considered to be in Sagittarius in D-9, right?
Do we consider the final-number as per degrees, and so it has 60 minutes as a sub-division? Or is it treated as a natural number?
3'20 - 3'40 - 4. Is it in separate 3rd's?
You know, certain Astrology Soft-wares can slip-off with calculations.
Kindly clarify that to me.

I don't know what 3.51 means, you have to describe your calculation better. but perhaps you it means, in the third sign, 51% of the way through.
I'm trying to understand which division is Mars taking in D-9.
- Mars is in the 1st third of Libra (8 degrees and 29 minutes, 8'29) in D-1
- accordingly, we subtract 0 because it is already a single digit: 0-8.29 = 8.29
- then, we have to divide that by 3.3= 8.29/3.3 = 2.51 (do we round it down to 2 or round it up to 3 in this case, since it is closer to 3?)
- and since Mars is in the 1st third, then we add 1: 2+1 =3? Or 3+1= 4?
- Libra is cardinal so the first subdivision is also Libra. That means the second is Scorpio, third is Sagittarius, fourth is Capricorn.
- accordingly, is it the 3rd division or the 4th division that we consider? Is it Sagittarius or Capricorn?
I'm sorry it wasn't clear at the start, but I honestly appreciate your help.
First convert everything to minutes: Mars = (8*60)+29 ...509 minutes in Libra. Each navamsha = (3*60)+20 ... 200 minutes
Next, divide 509 by 200, you get TWO "and change". Drop the remainder and add one, 3 ...mars is in the 3rd navamsha.
Libra's navamsha's start with Libra, so the third is Sagittarius. So Mars is in Sagittarius Navamsha.
The "change" you get is *how far* mars has moved into the Sagittarius Navamsha.
I totally appreciate that. Alrighty, the chart makes a whole lot of sense now! Chart ruler is Mars in Libra in the 12th/Sagittarius in the 11th for a Scorpio Ascendant in D-1 with Aquarius ascending in D-9. Thank you Vic! :)

In western astrology trump is at last 3 degrees of leo. Is that the reason you say its in sagittarius navamsa?
nakshatras are fixed to stars (sidereal).
Rashi are fixed to equinoxes (tropical).
How did you not learn that if you read the content of the link i gave?
The concept of navamshas being fused to nakshatra padas (hence "magha has "aries, taurus, etc") is a fallacy of the sidereal zodiac (ie. fixing Rashi to stars)

Cancer Asc and Aquarius Navamsa, The opposite of yours. Asc Punarvasu, Aswini Moon. Compatible Nakshatras but Cancer and Aquarius not so much.

navamsha divides the rāśi, so if the rāśi is sidereal so will the navamsha. If the rāśi is tropical, so must the navamsha.
