I think you head the nail on the head by saying "people fear sudden change". Especially when one loses their comfort zone.

Most people need to have some sense of a "comfort zone" in their daily work. Feeling like you know what you're doing is enabling and helps people feel excited about their job. It's important not to take that comfort away all at once.

Dear friend, change can be scary and uncomfortable, but it's also a necessary part of growth and progress. When facing change, try to focus on the potential benefits and opportunities that it can bring, rather than just the potential risks. Remember to also stay flexible and adaptable, and seek support from those around you. By embracing change, you can unlock new possibilities and achieve greater success. Best of luck in overcoming the fear of change and embracing new opportunities.

Hmm... Broadens my thinking :) "People fear sudden change." Fear arises when we face a new situation AND are unprepared. Sudden is the operative word, and preparedness is key.
Thank you for sharing a new dimension!

(FACTS OVA FEELINGS). If a Person Will Not Change Something it is Often because They r Convinced that Whatever They Will Not. Change is Doing Something Positive and Beneficial for Them

change puts you in a state of uncomfortable but in those times you grow the most. if you keep doing the same thing over and over you will platue and get too comfortable and your growth will be limited. adding more versatility, especially while young it's important to add versatility. the older people get the harder it is to adapt. there is still huge reward with stick with 1 thing if it pays well. i made the mistake of quit a really good 100k a year job, simply cause i was bored of doing same things all the time, iwanted more growth personally, it can at huge financial loses and me lose trust of old and future bosses. change can be good and it can be bad, sometimes like that one change i did with that job was a bad change. but prior to that in my career, quitting previous jobs was very positive changes.

It’s a valid fear and fear is a terrible feeling . If we compare this concept to cultures of other countries where women fear of getting married because of unfamiliar, new environment and many brides cry while parting from their parental homes because of unknown same concept goes into organizational structure. To my understanding fear is a quite valid feeling because unknown is like a question mark it can be good or bad.

Time out off your comfort zone,
is the only one thing, that extent the comfort zone.

So what would you deduct from teachers sitting in the same grade for over 15 years and certain ones step into new grades/phases often?? I say it's comfort zones... How about you?

I don't agree with the statement "people fear sudden change". Paraphrasing Eli Goldratt, if someone told you "here's 3 billion dollars, no strings attached, clean money, do you want it?". Most people would gladly accept it. 3 billion dollars IS a sudden and drastic change.
What people fear more of is the assessment of expecting/risking to be worse off. But that is something you've said, too.

To quote Henry Ford "Money doesn't change people it reveals them." An inordinate amount of money is not a sudden change per se but a mechanism to potentially enact change.
