Because this game has a system where the most you use an arte it will increase its damage range with level upping.

The math is Demon fang is Slash x 1.20 x 1 thus equally 120% damage
Where double demon fang is Slash x 1.05 x 2 = 210% damage.
Two regular demon fangs = 240% , The thing is even though spamming regular demon fang is a Damage gain over double demon fang, Its a loss on overal combo because demonfang can only link into demonfang once and it requires an ex skill if I remember as in this game you want to chain Level 1-2-3 Artes together at the end of your combo Double demon fang is just a filler to throw into your chain
Though technically you could have a demonfang-demonfang - Double demonfang - Demonic Chaos combo if you really wanted septuple demon fang as a skill. Also the person above demon fang TP is 4, Double fang is 16
