The OHV employees on the Calaveras Ranger District put enormous effort into the slick rock trail. Hats off and respect. I watched them start to finish. Well done
The trail has two “gate keepers” one at the beginning and one at the end. If you go southbound, it is easier. Overall, the trail is less challenging than the rubicon. But, the gauntlet is a little intimidating. Going down(south bound) it’s fairly easy. There is a designated winch point at the top of needed.
