Back in the late 80's/90's we used to camp every summer at Utica reservoir.... right near the trailhead area there. I had a Nissan Hardbody back in those days. Would not attempt.
Being a xj owner myself, I love seeing what you guys put these through. Not over the top crazy builds and still doing really hard trails. It would be cool if you did walk around videos of your set up and others that you drive with ! Definitely earned my sub Keep it up !
It’s fun though, I got 37s and I try not to use lockers until I’m stuck or that there is no other way because I don’t want to lose ability to pick right line on hard obstacles, so when ever I turn locker I say I cheated and got thru, but Slick rock is very technical and fun trail
I used to drive this trail often in high school 90-92. Cj 5 with 31 s limited slip. My friends in 66 bronco 31s and limited slip. Four door Land Cruiser with open differentials and small street tires 😂. It’s a great trail but you don’t need a special or expensive rig!
@@onefastcyclist when I got my YJ with 32s and a 4 inch lift it was a walk in the park. It is a great trail but not anything difficult like Fordyce or Rubicon. They did reroute the trail for a landowner and made one end of trail more difficult. We used to drive both ways.
Watched a few videos. Are you guy's members of Cal 4 wheel? If not why, they are fighting to keep trails that you are using. We are all in this together.
Actually We didn't Winch black Jeep we dragged line out but my winch didn't work so we looped the line and I backed up towing it up the obstacle, we have plenty of recovery gear and snatch blocks, just in heat of the moment we improvised how we could plus she was not stuck just could not get over a rock , but thanks for your advice
I like how you describe each riders rig with tire size, suspension and gearing. Great facts to know!
"Мы Русские, и мы любим картошку", это точно сказано. Отличное видео, отличные внедорожники, приятная атмосфера. Спасибо...
You'll never learn this stuff in school!!!! Good onya for being a teacher and passing it down.

Haven't seen anything from you guys in a while! Forest closures probably didn't help. Welcome back!
Yeah that and Jeep build not cheap lol got to work long hours to feed this hobby
When your on 35's and still have to pick your line carefully - your on one tough trail
It’s fun though, I got 37s and I try not to use lockers until I’m stuck or that there is no other way because I don’t want to lose ability to pick right line on hard obstacles, so when ever I turn locker I say I cheated and got thru, but Slick rock is very technical and fun trail
@@4WDAdventureCrew best comment I've heard from a spotter was: "your locker is your best friend, but only for 90 seconds"

@@fredeschen3783 Sounds like high school was fun - but trails change over time and usually get worse

I need to get up there next year. Only live 2 hours from it and I’ve never been.
Oh yeah it’s nice trail you should check it out.

What gear ratio were you running when you did this video?
White Jeep is 5.38 on 37’s stock NP231 Transfer case
Invest in a snatch block or 2 please! That winch through the shackle is a freak accident waiting to happen.

Are there still any good areas for camping after fires?
yes fires damaged lots of forest, but only few trails got in fires path, still lots of areas to camp.
Where is this place?
HWY 4 in Bear Valley California
