Love that area. Lots of mining history there. I knew the author of the Roar of the Monitors, Jann Garvis, she had a house in La Porte and was a local historian of that area. She spent her childhood there. I’ve been halfway from Howland Flat to Poker Flat but never got all the way down to Poker Flat. Beautiful area.
The E is silent in Laporte. We get anywhere from 6 to 10 feet of snow here those headstones are laying like that from years of being packed down by snow.. I live up here so I know. I do love your video
Great Video, the National Forest is very beautiful. I would love to do that one day. I have Mnt Biked in Downieville ca. Forest. So awesome. Thanks for the video looks like so much fun.
A fine video! We did the same trip in August of 2022 and the logs over the wash out area gave out under us and our trip was unfortunately more eventful 😰
Great video! Thank you. I wonder if anyone else would like a vehicle walk-around of those XJs? I'd like to know the lift/tire combo and other mods and equipment. Thanks again!
Great adventure! We live at 7,000 ft and love to do what you did in this video just about every weekend year-round. I love the hike, the delicious food and that made the whole trip complete. That was a very healthy, relaxing and exciting experience for everyone. 🇺🇸
another good one, i was up there last yr dont remember the big wash out with the trees would have been cool to see the full size trucks get though there i came in from downeville side keep the great vids coming
Thanks for posting this. Used to go up there back when I was a kid in the 80's. Family has an acre property in La Porte that my grandma passed down. Her ashes were spread up at the lookout, here wishes..My dad was in the Clampers, I guess it was some club up there. Can't wait to go up there this April.
Just got home a few hours ago from going the same exact route. Awesome video!! Got into camp around 7pm after making the left and turning around back to the campground. Wish I would have paid attention better so I didn't do that goat trail in the dark.
We absolutely hate it and as of right now, it is no longer on the black jeep. We have switched to Iron Man hard shell tent. The antidote tent is really tough to put back together and cover it with the soft shell and it is totally worthless in the wet condition. Every seam leaks with water. If you wanna camp in the wet environment, you have to bring a tarp with you to cover your rooftop tent .
Your vids get better and better but dont say an old local gave you history on the place and not relay it to us! BTW Russian Perogies? I still think my Lithuanian Grandma made the best perogies and kugelis of all time!!! ;)

Yeah it’s a sketchy place on that trail. But it goes to a dead end anyways. Hope you had fun
@@4WDAdventureCrew Thanks, but even the recovery was sketchy

Man we missed out!! No snow this time, looks way different! Would have been awesome same place but different scenery. Last year's trip was epic tho!
Hey you got to make Priorities Man!
I have the antidote tent too what do you think of yours

Hey! Just curious if this trail is open currently and if it has snow on it?
no Tons of Snow and Gates are locked in that direction

I got few pictures from local guy and some history about this place but I’m bad at story telling lol
Be careful where you put your hands…snakes.
In November we don’t have snakes at this elevation they all slider down the hill or under a rock
