Great recipe. I added one cup of sugar and a shot of bourbon and a half cup of water to make a simple syrup. After I read a comment about it being a bit dry. Next time I will add 3/4 cup water 1 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup bourbon to apples. Then pressure cook the apples for 1 min and quick release to soften apples.
@Voice of Reason --- Yes, I would have added 1/2 - 1 cup of sugar and maybe a few dots of butter and a couple of tablespoons of water. Then I would have baked it for 15 or so minutes then switched to the air crisp for 5 - 10 minutes. But we're all learning with our Foodi's.
Well....you did better then I did.....today I put my apples on Pressure cook then I was go to air crisp......so when I open from pressure ,,,,my apples kinda disappear....just skin....lol....so I guess I need to bake.....I gotta learn somehow.....
As I'm lazy LOL I'd use tinned apples & a ready made pie filling. Nah I'd only do that as I can't stand for long. Now you're making me want to bake in my Foodi. I have also bought the Ninja air fryer so that I can dehydrate fruits & veggies & make chips out of them.
@@ReensPlace Thank you for your reply. Aw we’re daft in the UK we don’t use cups either. We use pounds and ounces or sometimes grams (but I’m old so I never learnt that. LOL)
Hi Pam, I didn't steam them, I just used the bake feature. They came out with just a hint of crispness to them. If you would like softer apples, you can add 2T of butter and a little brown sugar and cinnamon and saute them until they just start getting soft. Then add the crumbs and use the bake feature. This will give you a more apple pie like taste/texture to your apples. Thanks for watching?
I was going to cook them for a few minutes first, but my family likes crumble a little bit more firm than pie, so I didn't want to take the chance of over doing them. I will be trying it different ways in the weeks to come. Thanks for watching!
They cover that in the manual, and the official website. It's really easy, as long as it is a compatible size. You can even cook.*from frozen*, which is ruddy awesome haha!
@@JohnGee123 Hello, again! I photographed the whole chicken recipe for you. The one in the book is a "herb" one, but obviously easily adjustable to your preferences :-) photos.app.goo.gl/L8VACehrNcLmuXUJ8 I hope that that helps! :-)
@@IllisiaAdams I looked at that. It has no stuffing (like Grandma's, bread, sage, onions, butter......) You mix it up and stuff it into the chicken. Cooking/baking times & temps are different for this. Can't afford to experiment, chicken here goes for near $15 kg.
I have watched a few of her videos and I get muffled sound from all of them. And the sound goes up and down also. The finished product looks good though.
The trick is to put the apples into the Ninja and sear/saute them first. Add about 250ml water and a small amount of butter to bring it up to temperature quickly. You can leave them for 5-10 minutes to soften according to taste while you prepare the crumble mix. The apples will soften by the time you're ready to put the crumble mix on top. I then air-fry for about 20 minutes at 180°C/356°F at which point it should be ready to serve.

You don't have to spray the ceramic. Nothing sticks.
Your dog waiting for some Apple Crumble pie good Video.
Thank you!!

Looks good, but a bit dry. Tossing the apples in some sugar would have helped that.

Lol!! Well this is how we learn!! :) Apple season is still in full swing here, so I guess we have a few more weeks to perfect our crumbles!! :)
Good to know!

Don’t use aerosol sprays on ceramic coatings. It will ruin the surface
Can’t see the written instructions. Do I need my desktop instead or my iPad?
We don’t have sticks of butter in the Uk. How many ounces is that?
1 stick= 1/2 cup

@@ReensPlace Oh thank you so much for taking the time to reply!!!
@@PeachyNanaUK no problem at all!! Thanks so much for watching! Please check back soon! 😊
what can you substitute the oats for?
You don't have to use oats. I just use plain flour, caster sugar & butter for the crumble mix.
What liquid did you add to steam the apples..?

You cannot use pressure cooker without liquid in it.
I didn't use the pressure cook feature...Just saute and bake.
You should have used the saute feature on the apples first
Pressure cook apples first then add the crumble

Can anyone tell me a technique that can stops the smoke detector from going off while using the Nija Foodie ? This device is very sensitive.
I have never had that happen....what are you cooking when the detector goes off? Are you using the air fryer when it happens?
Does anyone know how to do a whole stuffed chicken in the Foodi?

Adjust the date on your camera
Thanks, It's a new camera and I didn't even notice it was there! Lol! I think I will just turn it off.
No one has perfected this, it's so weird. Tried this myself today and like you apples didn't soften.
@aet9rat6 --- A couple of tablespoons of water would probably have helped.
If you do thin slices of apples instead of the 1/8 large chunks they will cook faster. The additional water is also a good idea
