Hello! I really struggled to get Ralsei's name right for this video, I have no idea why! Sorry, please ignore my blundering! Hm, not quite, there's one thing that completely debunks this theory to the ground. The game clearly teases Ralsei's emotions during it's course, when hugged, he says he was never hugged before, he has no knowledge of it, if Asriel was indeed Ralsie, wouldn't he know *a lot* about that having someone like Toriel on his side? It doesn't really make sense as of why he would lie to his own brother either, there's no signal of them hating each other or Kris hating Asriel, wouldn't it be easier to just straight up tell him what the problem is and what he needs to solve it? Another thing that doesn't really add up to the theory is Ralsei's size and attitude, we've seen how tall goat monsters get when they grow up, having in mind Asriel is an adult, and knowing how big Asgore is, it's not unaccurate to say Asriel should at least be as tall as him while Ralsei is pretty small and childish in comparison, hell, his unused asset of the manual clearly tells just how innocent his nature is.
“Debunks this theory to the grounds” *proceeds to talk about how ralsei cant possibly be lying about never having hugged and all lies are evil anyways and definitely can’t be used in any other context and assumes asriel is actually way older than kris and everyone ever grows to be as tall if not taller than their parents*
Sourcy now if youd gone into how ralsei blushes like a school girl for kris than maybe we have a decent lead on potential individuality between the dark fluff ball and goat mom’s son
@@Alolyn Then, not than. I'm sorry. Edit: Also we do know how old Kris is and how old Asriel is. If Asriel is going to college then that would mean he is about 21 or over. Kris is said the be in middle school in the end of the game. So I believe Kris is about 11-14 or perhaps slightly older. I don't think Kris and Asriel would even be close in age. This theory of Asriel being Ralsei can easily be brought down. It just doesn't make sense? Keep in mind that we only have chapter 1 of the game. Don't jump to conclusions.
I don't really believe Ralsei is straight up Asriel, but instead a parallel to him. A theory I have is that the entire Dark World is a parallel universe to the Surface/Light World. Ralsei parallels Asriel. Lancer parallels Sans and/or Papyrus. And since all we have right now is the first chapter of the game, I'm sure we'll see other parallels when the rest comes out. Edits courtesy of the comments: Roulxs parallels Mettaton and/or papyrus. And the reason we look so different when we fall in the Dark world, is because that is what our parallel would have looked like, if they didn't exist already.
I honestly don't think that Ralsei is Asriel, but I do think he is part of the same species, or perhaps part of a different branch of the Dreemurr family. My theory is that Monsters are originally from the Dark World and evolved separately from the Darkners, with the Dreemurrs that we know (Toriel, Asgore and Asriel) being from the branch that migrated to the Light World, and Ralsei being on the branch that stayed in the Dark World. Lancer may call Susie a Lightner, but humans are the TRUE Lightners (especially given how the silhouette in the legend cutscene is a similar "human holding a spear" from Undertale's opening, while the Darkner silhouette is clearly Lancer), and no Monster is present. Monsters have diverged so that they're neither Lightner or Darkner, but more rather, they're the bridge that connects the two worlds, hence why Susie is in the middle when the three heroes are shown, rather than being on one end or the other, because Monsters are the mediators between the two worlds.
Lightner/Darkner is not a race, they are darkners because they were locked in the dark world. So is more like a nationality thing than a different race.
I held on to that statement til the very end. An uncrowned checker piece just blocks the way but even if you were to backtrack before the King boss fight, you’d just find a sealed door and a save point that takes about backtracking T_T
I believe this theory. And for those saying “Asriel is in college”, remember, we reached the Dark World through a school’s closet, so I think that Asriel’s college also has a closet or room that takes him to the dark world, where he disguises himself as Ralsei. Another evidence is that Ralsei knows exactly where to go to get back home, meaning that he had already been outside the Dark World at least once, so I believe that when he goes to class, he manages to get in the room and go to the Dark World, and when the time comes, he heads back. *EDIT (MAJOR CHAPTER 2 SPOILERS):* well after chapter 2 this theory probably isnt true lol, It was a dumb take on it anyways, there is more than one dark world, and it requires a fountain for it to be entered, so no, there isnt a portal to the dark world in asriels college (but still note that Ralsei doesn't have to be taken by Kris in their pocket to visit another dark world, plus he doesn't turn to stone like Lancer and Roulx, kinda sus ngl [EDIT: this might be just because ralsei is from a fountain made of pure darkness, and as such he can "belong" to any dark world]). Also, Asriel cannot be Ralsei. There is an obvious romantic tone that some moments have between Kris and Ralsei (Ralsei has a dialog asking if Kris is proposing when given the Thorns Ring), so yea they aint related (I hope...) but mostly the tea disproves that. When Kris drinks Ralsei's tea, they gain 50hp, while when they drink Susie's, they gain 120hp. How much the tea heals depends on how the person drinking sees the person the drink is based on, and it would be pretty strange for Kris to have a better bond with someone they befriended literally one day ago than their own brother, but who knows maybe they had some beef before he went to college. Also, Ralsei isn't a lightner, because their dialog portrait is colored, which is a characteristic only darkners have, with Susie, Noelle and Berdly all having black and white portraits (plus everyone in the light world) so I really doubt Asriel is Ralsei now. All darkners have something they're based on (Lancer Roulx, Jevil, etc. are cards, Tasque Manager is the computer's Task Manager, Queen is the motherboard I guess? idk some part of the computer, she resembles the king and lancer a lot so maybe shes solitaire lmaoo), and yet Ralsei doesn't have to be carried to other dark worlds like Lancer and Roulx, so he's something Kris is always carrying. What is this thing? No idea, but it has to have a connection to Asriel (Ralsei is NOT Asriel, but certainly has a connection to him) and has to have a lot of significance to Kris for them to take it everywhere they go.
It isn't a portal it is Kris' imagination and that explains the pencil sword the checkers the cat plush Susie at the begging of the game in the dark world she was saying lets get out of here until the fighting in which she wanted to stay and come back after that creating a place for Susie to let her anger out by fighting the Darkners.

what if in this universe Ralsei is Toriel's lost child and Asriel's real brother. He went missing at a very early age and the only thing he remembered where his name and after losing him, toriel and asgore adopted kris... Nahh that would be crazy!

The dream theory of theirs doesn't explain how a cutscene of the 2 had them falling and why they ended up staying in that closet when Susie wanted to leave right away when they went in.

I have a theory, and if you can think of anything that debunks this let me know because I want to see if I’m actually onto something. I think Undertale and Deltarune were actually the same universe until a certain point, when both timelines split apart from each other. The point at which I believe they split apart was around the time when the monsters were sealed underground. I believe that Deltarune is Undertale if the monsters were never sealed underground, or maybe if there was never even a war in the first place. Frisk or Chara aren’t there because they never fell into the underground in the first place, it also explains why Asriel is no longer Flowey, why Undyne doesn’t know Alphys, why Alphys actually likes Mew Mew 2 instead of 1 (in Undertale she likely watched Mew Mew 1 first, in Deltarune it says that Mew Mew 2 was the first one that she watched in the Mew Mew series), and many other things. I might be wrong, it’s just a theory I thought of while in the shower lol. Let me know if there’s anything to add or that contradicts this theory.
Released Insanity I don’t think that it’s before Undertale because there’s a grave in the graveyard that says “Gerson Boom”, which is likely the same Gerson that was a shopkeeper in Undertale. Also, at the end of Undertale, multiple characters say things that indicate that they’ve never been to the surface. Alphys says that the sunset is even better than it is on tv, Papyrus asks what the sun is (which is, strangely, answered by Sans), and even Undyne is shocked. This wouldn’t make much sense if they had been to the surface before already.
I mean, can you really be sure? Asriel's name was a combo of his parents. Maybe it's in the family tradition to have names similar to others in the family line. And we don't have evidence that Ralsei is an actual Dreemurr. Their species had to come from somewhere. There are likely more.
Yup. Boss monsters are a thing, and I believe the dreemurrs were never addressed as the only ones existing. Even if the dreemurrs are the only bm, deltarune is set in a different universe where that could very well not be true

I figured he was talking about the game of life, or survival. "If your HP drops to zero, you lose." It's not like we can ever not "play" life and choose not to die.
If I've learned anything from Homestuck and Undertale, it's that it's way too early to assume too much about how the story is going to turn out. Not saying it doesn't have merit, just that I'll only start speculating once we know more.

As I was playing through the game I kept getting a feeling the whole thing was set up, almost too light-hearted (until towards the end). I especially felt that Ralsei was controlling most of it except for a few twists.
I don't think Ralsei is literally Asriel. Asriel in the "real" world is in college; In other words he would look much older (like his pacifist boss form at the end of Undertale). I think Ralsei is an imaginative form of him as a child created by Kris, in order to tell their role-playing story.
The fact that Ralsei has bigger horns than Asriel may be trying to indicate that this is how Asriel would look like if he was older. But I still agree that he would be taller if it was actually Asriel
I don't think Ralsei IS Asriel for one important reason; Monsters have always had black and white sprites for their textboxes, save for specific examples like Sans' blue eye. Ralsei, however, has coloured textbox sprites for both of his disguises AND his true self. Whether or not there is some significance to the similarity, then, or if it's just a coincidence (completely unlikely, but not out of the realm of possibility) remains to be seen. But either way, I don't think Ralsei IS Asriel - or even a Monster - because of that detail.

not sure of the cookie but usually i don't think you would travel with a pencil even in school. The fact that he carries a pencil and Noelle mentions the christmas pencils does imply he might borrow from her alot because his sword keeps breaking because its a pencil
Something I noticed- Toriel said that when Kris was younger, they where wondering 'why their horns never grew' so they wore some fake ones, then Toriel says that she's wondering what happened to them.. Meaning that the pair of fake horns had disappeared. Meanwhile, in undertale, Asriel didnt have any horns yet in deltarune Ralsei does have, and they're also pink, a color close to red- Coincidence? I think not.
So do you mean that the horns Kris used to wear got discarded together with the toys and games that represent the other characters in deltarune, and that Ralsei then represents that set of toy horns similar to how Lancer represents the Jack of spades in the card game?
Couple things: First, you forgot to mention how Ralsei already knows Kris and Susie's names, despite supposedly never meeting them before. This theory would explain how he knows Kris, but not how he knows Susie. There is no reason the two would ever have interacted before. Of course, they are all from the same small town, so Asriel might have known who Susie was. And second, if Ralsei really is Asriel, shouldn't Kris or Susie have reacted in some way (you know, besides just a surprised expression and complete stoic-ness )? I get that the protagonist isn't supposed to emote, but if Toby really wanted people to draw that conclusion, Susie could have at least said "Hey, Kris? Why does Ralsei look like that brother of yours?!" Not to mention that Ralsei would have said "Hey it's me, Asriel" when he takes off his hat, because then there wouldn't be anything left to hide. Then there's the fact that Asriel in Undertale doesn't have any horns. But if we assume that this is an older Asriel, then there's a good chance his horns have grown in by now. I checked with his "God of Hyperdeath" sprite, and it seems like both sets of horns curve in the exact same way. But... While I was doing that, I noticed the fur tufts on their heads. Asriel's fur tuft goes up and to the right, while Ralsei's goes directly to the left (and also has a pink highlight). Either this means that Asriel and Ralsei are two separate people, or I'm reading WAY too much into tufts of fur. (And on a sidenote, can you please stop calling Deltarune "Undertale 2"? It isn't really a sequel per say. It's closer to a spinoff or an alternate universe. It's kinda hard to tell what Deltarune is, to be honest...)
It’s more simple to say it’s an Undertale 2 because let’s be honest, nobody wants to say “it’s an alternative universe/timeline story that’s a spinoff to Undertale with the same characters, play style, and jokes, along with an entirely different main character and your choices don’t matter anymore.” (That literally classifies it off as an AU, AT, Spinoff, non decision based RPG and a separate game) So yea, Undertale 2 is the easiest way to describe DeltaRune for most people including me.

I wanted to point out that you aren't in a room where the closet should've been at the end. You're in one of the empty classrooms. Susie explicitly states this, and once you leave the room the door is not the one you entered the closest from. That one is locked.

I mean, just because he's really nice and shy doesn't make him more feminine, especially since you can see when Asriel turns back into his goat-kid form he's also really nice and friendly, possibly shy.
One thing: Ralsei said there is one dark fountain and one light fountain and the balance of light and dark shifted because there's now a second appeared. As i played it i thought "why dont i just shut off the fountain at Ralsei's Castle? But he doesnt let you go there. theory material.

Ray Akuma I was wrong about the King being the one to open them, but the Knight mentioned by the King can open these fountains. The King says this during his fight. The fountain did not just open there. Why would the world naturally offset itself?
Strong evidence suggests that Ralsei is a toy goat that Asriel and Kris made in their childhood. Kris and Asriel made a game with it, along with many other toys in the class with Mr Gerson, their teacher. Who dies later on, and everyone changes classes. They made up the Dark World, and based it on events in Undertale. Many monsters met here seem to be based on a monster from somewhere in the Undertale cast, with an opposite personality and different positions in the game to suit that. The story follows the Undertale story very closely. (Presumably, Undertale is a story or legend in this game that Mr Gerson told them) Ralsei leads Kris and Susie to the Lightswitch, which lights up the class and gets rid of the Dark World and freeing the two in the process. The talk of Lighteners not coming in any more, to change the worlds over, is down to Mr Gerson dying and all the toys being left there after the empty classroom became disused. The relevance of it, and the hows and whys of it happening is hard to pinpoint at this time.
That kinda make sense. Maybe thats why Kris no longer wear the red horns, as Toriel stated. They probably use it to make the doll which is as you assume, Ralsei.
your story adds up, except for one thing that completely debunks it, an item in fact, egg. In the dark world you can find a tree with a "strange man" standing behind it, he gives you an egg, and when you leave the dark world you still have said egg. this is proof that some way somehow, it was all real.

Oh if you notice, I’m the overworld, Kris is equipping a pencil. After you leave the darkworld, whatever equipment you had there relates to the overworld. For example, if you had the spooky sword equipped before you left, your pencil in the overworld becomes a “spooky pencil”
my take: in chapter 2, queen reallys likes noelle and treats her like a child. noelle's dad says that noelle's mother likes controlling her and being bossy, and with him in the hospital it is not balanced anymore in the house. this leads to queen existing. ralsei is probably the same but with asriel. (they both don't turn into stones either)
I wonder why people aren’t asking why tf ralsei can live in the cyber world when he is the prince of the dark one so therefore he should be the most tied to the portal so why does lancer and the puzzle guy turn to stone but not him
It's pretty obvious that Ralsei is in some form related to Asriel and hiding something, I just don't think he is the Asriel from Krises universe since he had a colored sprite talking box the whole game, as had everyone else in the Dark world except for Susie, who came from the Same World as Kris where everyone has black and white ones. So if he was that worlds Asriel his talking box Sprite would have also been black and white.
1) We only have the first chapter of Deltarune, out of who knows how many. So it's quite literally impossible to say for certain what is or isn't really happening. That said, theorizing is still perfectly fine, but anything pertaining to the overarching plot, or events we've yet to experience in Deltarune's universe, etc, all ought to be taken with a few grains of salt. 2) This is something you probably overlooked Underlab, but i think it disproves that Ralsei is Asriel, or any kind of Monster at that. Every time we talk to a Monster, should they have a portrait, it is always completely black and white. And every Darkner that has a portrait, has their's in color. Alphys', Susie's, Birdley's, Toriel's, all of them have completely black and white portraits. But that's just on the Surface, what about in the Dark World? Maybe being in the Dark World would give a Monster's portrait color? The menu changes when we enter the Dark World, so it's no stretch to assume the portraits could change too. Well, the answer to that, is a resounding no. Susie's portrait remains completely black and white, both on the surface and in the dark world. So this means that Ralsei is NOT a Monster, as his green cloak and red scarf as fully colored in the text box. And even once he removes his hat and shows you his face, there's still color. Ralsei is a Darkner, not a Monster. 3) I can understand your thinking of Ralsei not wanting to make anyone worry, but even if you go out of your way to tell people that there's an underworld of darkness inside the school, they completely shrug it off. When talking to Undyne, you have the option to report to her of the existence of the Dark World, and she responds as so; _* What?_ _* There's a Dark World inside the school?_ _* Uh... SURE kid._ _* There's no law against Dark Worlds anyway!_ _* That's a job for the school board!_ For me, it seems very clear that no one is gonna take you seriously if you tell them there's a magical world inside the school's supply closet. 4) Asgore's lack of skills in coming up with names is apparently genetic? _R e a l l y ?_ I can understand Asriel inheriting bad eyesight from Toriel, but not being good at naming things isn't a genetic trait. It's a quirk of your personality and intelligence. Has nothing to do with DNA.
Atom Sorcerer i agree with most of it, but that bad naming being genetic.. i think he worded it wrong, you know the phrase like father like son? How kids adopt some of their parents personality traits due to them being their role models growing up. So in a way what he said was right, you know? But either way i agree with everything else you said. I really like deltarune so far and i cant wait for chapter 2 and onwards!
i just noticed that Ralsei has an empty heart on the chest . i wonder if thats a coincidence from the chapter 1 ending. will Ralsei absorb the heart thats in the cage or does the absence of the heart mean Ralsei has no will or control?
Huh. That IS a good point. However, I would think the very opposite. The red heart, the determination soul, usually shows up when YOU are the one controlling, or directing the character. I’d think maybe... Kris and Ralsei are onto something. The way both of them have, at least once, turned to face the player after a cutscene. During the time when Susie confronted Lancer in the dungeons, Kris and Ralsei may not have been talking about Susie, but the player, YOU. When you try and direct Susie in the dungeons, it’s not Kris’s voice, as she assumes, but yours. At the end of chapter one, Kris throws you into a birdcage in the middle of the night. Think, have we ever been able to control Frisk in the middle of the night, under Toriel’s care? Huh. Maybe that’ll come up later on, but for now, all we know is this: Both Ralsei and Kris know of your existence, and.. are rebelling? Maybe it’s too early to tell, but this may be what’s happening.
Asriel is in the dark world because he can't bare the responsibilities of growing up in the real world, to grow up and leave his town full of the people he loves. It's a world he fabricated to play with you. That's why everything is so one simple in the darkworld. In the surface it's a mediocre and generic story of good and evil, where everything is a toy, because it's all fabricated by the mind of a child. In here, you literally can't deviate from Asriel's "suggestions". Asriel controls everything that happens, because just like in the final boss fight of undertale pacifist run, he wants to play with us forever, not because he's evil, but because he is immature and doesn't want to let go. Think about it, if you open up your save file, the last possible save point is not where you're about to leave, it's right before the final boss. You can go in and experience the world for as long as you'd like and be with Asriel in an adventure. This is exactly what he was begging for in tears, for you to not win, to play forever. Perhaps he is the one possessing us when we try to drop the ball of junk, so we don't detach ourselves from him and his world, and perhaps he is the one controlling our body at night, to kill everyone because he KNOWS we can reset, to prevent his evil from happening, because he knows we'll end up going back to the last save point, to play with him once more.

But when your character rips your heart out, the cage it tosses our soul into already has blood in there, implying this has been done before. This is very nebulous I'll admit, and anything regarding the ending clip I can't speak for with any confidence whatsoever. What I am convinced of is about Asriel creating his own child-like world to play with us, because he doesn't want to go to college. Through which means he created it though, I have no idea. There's obviously a lot more that deltarune will explore, so I'll patiently wait for answers.
but that was for frisks not for kris kris is a complete different beeing and asriel's not flowey in the world of deltarune. or maybe : oof this went hard. deltarune maybe a world asriel created and that's why you never see him, and maybe that's why toriel tells you he's in university so the dark world is like the puppet theater where he can play with you forever. But there's another thing. kris is chara kinda. but kris could be the part asriel absorbed from chara when he died and he wanted to keep it locked in dark world so, he (chara) wouldn't do anything bad to the outside world. deltarune maybe the limbo asriel and chara are living in, after death and asriel is the narrator who tells you to not go to bed, 'cause if you go to bed you may escape from the limbo (kinda like genocide ending in undertale). and that's why your decisions doesn't matter in this game, 'cause there's someone controling you (asriel). (this went longer than i though and it would be so crazy if it end like this)
Ralsei is an anagram. Ralsei sings, Asriel used to sing. That's really the entire premise of the video. There is no proof that Ralsei summoned them. It's more likely that as he said he was "Waiting" for them, for a very long time. The real Asriel was scattered across time and space after all. He had nothing to do even during Undertale. People keep assuming that when Flowey assumed the form of Asriel that it was the same being, but it most certainly was not. Asriel's Soul is not accounted for in Undertale and was shattered across time and space. A lot of characters were also lost in time and space like Gaster's Scientists and the G-man himself. So it's highly unlikely that Ralsei did any summoning at all according to the points you present. However I will give you a slight possibility. There is one time where Asriel's body would've touched Chara's soul. This is after a Genocide pacifist run where you hug Flowey. It could be at this time that Asriel's soul calls out to Chara causing him to make the timeline of Deltarune. However...
He was not shattered across time and space Asriel was just killed and his remains landed on a flower power by determination and somehow the flower came alive as an empty husk.
if your in college you would look like a teen. but ralsei's sprite is based off of asriels child sprite. also what in the world are you talking about "revealed to be a dreemur" not all goats are related. just because we are both human doesnt mean we are related. (unless you talking about everyone being related if you go far back enough but in that case your related to a dinosour)
True, but that would be a rather random detail, making Ralsei a goat, and Underlab is just trying to work things out, as we have near no info. However, I think these stories might take place in alternate timelines, consider what happens when you mention 'Alphys' to Undyne. (Undyne does not know who Alphys is.)
This story is somewhat a prequel. Asriel didn't age. If you remember a small detail in Undertale, it says that a monster won't age unless it has a child.
@@andrewbaumunk2694 i feel like the point of the detail is to throw everyone off. after all you can kind of piece it together at the beginning with the shape of the sprite the anagram of the name etc. but Toby wouldn't make it that obvious if it was meant to be a plot twist. (and yes i know all that. for Christ all mighty even Toby Fox revealed that it is neither a sequel or a prequel but a completely different story)

Should be noted that both Ralsei and Flowey both say "See that HEART, (name)? That's your SOUL, the culmination of your being!" One of the songs is "Fields of Hopes and Dreams" would also tie the two characters together. I was amused that Ralsei told Kris that their choices mattered at the great door, when both the starting game prompt and Susie told us they did not. (Though it matters on one fight if you wish to say goodbye) I also was amused that Ralsei closed the great door from the inside. Makes it seem like he doesn't want to return to his village castle.
One thing I took note of was how Ralsei tells Kris that his choices matter, yet when they are in jail, and Ralsei ask him if he thinks Susie will be okay, he follows by saying "Well, regardless of how you feel, I think you should try to imagine..." Effectively ignoring Kris' choice, despite saying that his choices matter.
Toriel probably just needs reading glasses, she's apparently quite old. Also, pink is literally a lighter version of red, so I'd say he's more determined if we go by colour. Nevertheless, great theory! I mostly agree that he's Asriel, and it makes sense he just doesn't want his friends and family to worry about him, although if he's at university he'd look older than Kris and Susie, right? *Actually, his scarf is literally called a "red scarf."*

Hey, what if triangles from Deltarune symbol doesn't represent monsters trapped underground, but souls. Monster, human and a prince from the dark(also a monster) they look almost like hearts and two of them are upside down, just like monster souls. Undertale and Deltarune ar in COMPLETELY different timelines. So maybe, in the Undertale timeline, it represents "Freedom for Monsters", and in the Deltarune timeline, it represents "1 human and 2 monsters".
in undertale, the symbol represents the person who will free the monsters (be it from SPARING or killing), but giveen the nature of the prophecy it can be surmised the symbol (or at least, the three triangles) probably represents the three heroes
I noticed that on every end of dialogue, kris always makes a 4th wall, does frisk do this to? Also at the near end of the game,if you walk kris facing at you, you'll see a glint of red from his/her eye (i'm still not sure if i'm just hallucinating or not)

Here is a random though: What if Jevils chaos caused there to be 2 ways to end the boss fight whit Lancers dad. Here is the "proof": He has the abilities of a joker. He can do anything, including the ability to chose what to give you after your fight, for pacify victory he gives a defensive item and for a fight victory and offensive item. and if I remember correctly one of the text boxes during his fight state that "the air cracking whit freedom" or something similar. Do you think it's a mistake to presume that sense he has been locked in the castle allowing his chaos to build up and influence the surroundings, sense it could have lead to a crack in the worlds ironclad rule of: "your choices don't matter" (explains why every difference in the story based on your actions took place in the castle.)
I don't think it is related to the two different outcomes of the King's fight. However, Jevil may really mean it when he says he can do anything. As in, he has the power to influence, change or just to damage the world. His actions could be able to disrupt balance or cause serious trouble. However, having it be related to the game's motif would mean that the "your choices don't matter" thing is a "known law of the world" and that honestly doesn't make any sense. Why would people know their choices don't make any difference? Why would that be a "law to follow"? That is simply something for us, and for those with "greater intelligence over how the world works" (think Sans in UT, for example), to know. And he chooses to turn into something different for us depending on how we tackle the fight, yes. But that STILL doesn't change things in the end. It was a choice, yes, but it ultimately didn't matter. The game's rule isn't that you don't have a choice - it's just that they don't really affect the outcome. Now, back to the outcomes of the King's fight. They are quite different indeed, but we don't know what happens after. Whatever it may be, it's very much possible we will end up returning to the Dark World and everything is still fine. Just that instead of Ralsei and Lancer being safely in the castle, they had to escape it and we still end up reuniting with them or something.
I have another theory. Spoilers for Undertale, not really Deltarune. Whenever LOVE is mentioned in the game, it is in all caps. We learn that this is because it is an acronym. The same goes for LV and EXP. Now, SOUL is always capitalized. Nobody even thought it was weird. Go and check! SOUL is never lowercase! This makes sense. When you sell your SOUL to Chara after the genocide route and reset, you still have control over the culmination of your being. Furthermore, real souls in most churches, like we see in Deltarune, are believed to not stay on Earth. Souls, lowercase, go to the afterlife, so why would monsters believe in the afterlife if they were proven otherwise? That is because a SOUL is not the same thing as a soul. Edit: The turtle priest mentions the "angel." I don't know what kinda religion this is.

There also so many references to "marshmallow" both in Dark World and in Real World. The Dark Candy tastes like marshmallow, Kris' Ball of Junk made from scented marshmallow stickers, his favourite scented crayon is marshmallow, and the hot chocolate given by the Diner has marshmallow shaped like bunny.
If you go back to bed at the start of the game, you go to the dark world anyway. This theory would also explain that, since it wouldn’t be a problem for Asriel to move Kris while they slept.
I have to say something that's been bothering me a bit. Deltarune is a completly different world from Undertale. There is proof of this, because one, if it was a sequal, then where is Frisk? And if it was a prequel to undertale, then wouldn't it reveal the backstory of frisk or one of the other monsters?

My headcanon right now would be that the Deltarune world is the place that Sans was trying to go back to in Undertale. That would be the perfect explanation on how the two worlds are different from one another, yet still connected. "I gave up trying to go back a long time ago." - Sans said this in his genocide dialogue. Go back where? We all assumed that it was the past, but his lab proved otherwise. There was a picture of three people happily smiling, as well as a drawing which said don't forget (Which is the title of the credits song. Coincidence? I think not). Three people? Remind you of anyone? There were also blueprints for a strange machine. A thrashing machine made by Lancer Industries, perhaps?

I think in some areas you would be correct. I think Ralsei is a representation of Asriel in the Dark World. My personal theory is that everything was to a large extent, a psychological event with magical influence. We do see Kris Soul in the Real World, so it would be save to say that Magic does exist, though underused due to a era of peace. We do know that from the Abandoned Classroom, many of the toys and things there were a part of the shared dream between Kris and Susie,. You can go to the Dark World just by going back to bed, so I say that once they were locked in the room by some mysterious culprit, they eventually fell asleep, with them falling being both metaphorical and literal. There is nothing saying Magic didn't connected them in the dream, with is why regardless, Susie develops. In the dream, it represents both the good and bad of both characters, their hopes in their dream. Asriel grew up with Kris, and did dress up for Halloween if you look through Toriel's computer, potentially as he did. It may be why he didn't react the same way Susie did when the hat was removed. Ralsei became a guide for Kris the entire time, while still retaining the traits of Asriel in this current AU. Remember, this Asriel is not the same one we met in Undertale, just as every other character isn't entirely the same. Alphys likes Mewmew 2 more than 1 and Undyne has both eyes.

Well, I have a bit of a theory of my own in this series of games. What if your choices your make during chapter one don't matter "right now" What if the story is like Mass Effect and what happens in previous chapters effects what happens in the next chapter instead? Maybe Toby is setting up the game to where little actions you do over the course of the game snowball into big differences at the very end.
My personal theory on Ralsei was that there was something like an old photo of Asriel somewhere in the closet(or beyond the locked door in the classroom. Which, seeing as pretty much everybody else in the dark world had a correlating item to them in the abandoned classroom, would give him a correlating item and explain his similarities to Asriel. The great door likely correlates to the locked door in the abandoned classroom which probably leads to the closet in some way, although its possible it just leads to a small room and there's some kind of crack in the wall that Kris went through which correlates to the whole area they went through between falling into the dark world and reaching the abandoned 'town' that you find Ralsei in.
still, think Ralsei is going to be the big plot twist villain when the full game comes out. and no its not because of flowey. first of all whats in his castle. and second of all remember when he shut the big door behind you and the music stopped. the only thing I could see is tobyfox is staging ralsei as a villain as a red herring which also makes sense
Ralsei had a conversation with Kris while imprisoned. Course it was cut out so it can blow our minds later. I don’t like how similar the dark world was to undertale’s story so I’m getting the feeling it’s going to be flipped upside down revealing what exactly was going. It’s a simple world that seems expendable but nods on parallels. If Kris and Susie are to return to the dark world again you can bet Ralsei will be waiting only replaceable by either Asriel himself or a Darkner to represent all 3 groups.
Given Toby's apparent interest in dissecting the RPG genre, and various hints throughout - not least, the scene at the end of the chapter - I get the impression that the narrative of the game is based on us, the player, hijacking bodies, both in DR and UT, purely because we want something to entertain us. We seem to have more control over Kris than the Chara-like entity, as it only comes out after we explicitly say we're happy to relinquish control and end the chapter, so if Ralsei is Asriel, which is probable, it wouldn't surprise me if they were aware.
Deltarune is just an AU but Toby has alot of tricks in his sleeves to put secrets in making connection on this two seperate AUs to put pieces and clues about undertale and deltarune.

Hm, not quite, there's one thing that completely debunks this theory to the ground.
The game clearly teases Ralsei's emotions during it's course, when hugged, he says he was never hugged before, he has no knowledge of it, if Asriel was indeed Ralsie, wouldn't he know *a lot* about that having someone like Toriel on his side?
It doesn't really make sense as of why he would lie to his own brother either, there's no signal of them hating each other or Kris hating Asriel, wouldn't it be easier to just straight up tell him what the problem is and what he needs to solve it?
Another thing that doesn't really add up to the theory is Ralsei's size and attitude, we've seen how tall goat monsters get when they grow up, having in mind Asriel is an adult, and knowing how big Asgore is, it's not unaccurate to say Asriel should at least be as tall as him while Ralsei is pretty small and childish in comparison, hell, his unused asset of the manual clearly tells just how innocent his nature is.

Edit: Also we do know how old Kris is and how old Asriel is. If Asriel is going to college then that would mean he is about 21 or over. Kris is said the be in middle school in the end of the game. So I believe Kris is about 11-14 or perhaps slightly older. I don't think Kris and Asriel would even be close in age. This theory of Asriel being Ralsei can easily be brought down. It just doesn't make sense? Keep in mind that we only have chapter 1 of the game. Don't jump to conclusions.

A theory I have is that the entire Dark World is a parallel universe to the Surface/Light World.
Ralsei parallels Asriel.
Lancer parallels Sans and/or Papyrus.
And since all we have right now is the first chapter of the game, I'm sure we'll see other parallels when the rest comes out.

I honestly don't think that Ralsei is Asriel, but I do think he is part of the same species, or perhaps part of a different branch of the Dreemurr family. My theory is that Monsters are originally from the Dark World and evolved separately from the Darkners, with the Dreemurrs that we know (Toriel, Asgore and Asriel) being from the branch that migrated to the Light World, and Ralsei being on the branch that stayed in the Dark World.
Lancer may call Susie a Lightner, but humans are the TRUE Lightners (especially given how the silhouette in the legend cutscene is a similar "human holding a spear" from Undertale's opening, while the Darkner silhouette is clearly Lancer), and no Monster is present. Monsters have diverged so that they're neither Lightner or Darkner, but more rather, they're the bridge that connects the two worlds, hence why Susie is in the middle when the three heroes are shown, rather than being on one end or the other, because Monsters are the mediators between the two worlds.

I believe this theory. And for those saying “Asriel is in college”, remember, we reached the Dark World through a school’s closet, so I think that Asriel’s college also has a closet or room that takes him to the dark world, where he disguises himself as Ralsei. Another evidence is that Ralsei knows exactly where to go to get back home, meaning that he had already been outside the Dark World at least once, so I believe that when he goes to class, he manages to get in the room and go to the Dark World, and when the time comes, he heads back.
*EDIT (MAJOR CHAPTER 2 SPOILERS):* well after chapter 2 this theory probably isnt true lol, It was a dumb take on it anyways, there is more than one dark world, and it requires a fountain for it to be entered, so no, there isnt a portal to the dark world in asriels college (but still note that Ralsei doesn't have to be taken by Kris in their pocket to visit another dark world, plus he doesn't turn to stone like Lancer and Roulx, kinda sus ngl [EDIT: this might be just because ralsei is from a fountain made of pure darkness, and as such he can "belong" to any dark world]). Also, Asriel cannot be Ralsei. There is an obvious romantic tone that some moments have between Kris and Ralsei (Ralsei has a dialog asking if Kris is proposing when given the Thorns Ring), so yea they aint related (I hope...) but mostly the tea disproves that. When Kris drinks Ralsei's tea, they gain 50hp, while when they drink Susie's, they gain 120hp. How much the tea heals depends on how the person drinking sees the person the drink is based on, and it would be pretty strange for Kris to have a better bond with someone they befriended literally one day ago than their own brother, but who knows maybe they had some beef before he went to college. Also, Ralsei isn't a lightner, because their dialog portrait is colored, which is a characteristic only darkners have, with Susie, Noelle and Berdly all having black and white portraits (plus everyone in the light world) so I really doubt Asriel is Ralsei now. All darkners have something they're based on (Lancer Roulx, Jevil, etc. are cards, Tasque Manager is the computer's Task Manager, Queen is the motherboard I guess? idk some part of the computer, she resembles the king and lancer a lot so maybe shes solitaire lmaoo), and yet Ralsei doesn't have to be carried to other dark worlds like Lancer and Roulx, so he's something Kris is always carrying. What is this thing? No idea, but it has to have a connection to Asriel (Ralsei is NOT Asriel, but certainly has a connection to him) and has to have a lot of significance to Kris for them to take it everywhere they go.

I have a theory, and if you can think of anything that debunks this let me know because I want to see if I’m actually onto something. I think Undertale and Deltarune were actually the same universe until a certain point, when both timelines split apart from each other. The point at which I believe they split apart was around the time when the monsters were sealed underground. I believe that Deltarune is Undertale if the monsters were never sealed underground, or maybe if there was never even a war in the first place. Frisk or Chara aren’t there because they never fell into the underground in the first place, it also explains why Asriel is no longer Flowey, why Undyne doesn’t know Alphys, why Alphys actually likes Mew Mew 2 instead of 1 (in Undertale she likely watched Mew Mew 1 first, in Deltarune it says that Mew Mew 2 was the first one that she watched in the Mew Mew series), and many other things. I might be wrong, it’s just a theory I thought of while in the shower lol. Let me know if there’s anything to add or that contradicts this theory.

Released Insanity I don’t think that it’s before Undertale because there’s a grave in the graveyard that says “Gerson Boom”, which is likely the same Gerson that was a shopkeeper in Undertale. Also, at the end of Undertale, multiple characters say things that indicate that they’ve never been to the surface. Alphys says that the sunset is even better than it is on tv, Papyrus asks what the sun is (which is, strangely, answered by Sans), and even Undyne is shocked. This wouldn’t make much sense if they had been to the surface before already.

I mean, can you really be sure? Asriel's name was a combo of his parents. Maybe it's in the family tradition to have names similar to others in the family line. And we don't have evidence that Ralsei is an actual Dreemurr. Their species had to come from somewhere. There are likely more.

As I was playing through the game I kept getting a feeling the whole thing was set up, almost too light-hearted (until towards the end). I especially felt that Ralsei was controlling most of it except for a few twists.

I don't think Ralsei is literally Asriel. Asriel in the "real" world is in college; In other words he would look much older (like his pacifist boss form at the end of Undertale). I think Ralsei is an imaginative form of him as a child created by Kris, in order to tell their role-playing story.

I don't think Ralsei IS Asriel for one important reason;
Monsters have always had black and white sprites for their textboxes, save for specific examples like Sans' blue eye.
Ralsei, however, has coloured textbox sprites for both of his disguises AND his true self. Whether or not there is some significance to the similarity, then, or if it's just a coincidence (completely unlikely, but not out of the realm of possibility) remains to be seen.
But either way, I don't think Ralsei IS Asriel - or even a Monster - because of that detail.

Toriel said that when Kris was younger, they where wondering 'why their horns never grew' so they wore some fake ones, then Toriel says that she's wondering what happened to them.. Meaning that the pair of fake horns had disappeared. Meanwhile, in undertale, Asriel didnt have any horns yet in deltarune Ralsei does have, and they're also pink, a color close to red- Coincidence? I think not.

Couple things:
First, you forgot to mention how Ralsei already knows Kris and Susie's names, despite supposedly never meeting them before. This theory would explain how he knows Kris, but not how he knows Susie. There is no reason the two would ever have interacted before. Of course, they are all from the same small town, so Asriel might have known who Susie was.
And second, if Ralsei really is Asriel, shouldn't Kris or Susie have reacted in some way (you know, besides just a surprised expression and complete stoic-ness )? I get that the protagonist isn't supposed to emote, but if Toby really wanted people to draw that conclusion, Susie could have at least said "Hey, Kris? Why does Ralsei look like that brother of yours?!" Not to mention that Ralsei would have said "Hey it's me, Asriel" when he takes off his hat, because then there wouldn't be anything left to hide.
Then there's the fact that Asriel in Undertale doesn't have any horns. But if we assume that this is an older Asriel, then there's a good chance his horns have grown in by now. I checked with his "God of Hyperdeath" sprite, and it seems like both sets of horns curve in the exact same way. But...
While I was doing that, I noticed the fur tufts on their heads. Asriel's fur tuft goes up and to the right, while Ralsei's goes directly to the left (and also has a pink highlight). Either this means that Asriel and Ralsei are two separate people, or I'm reading WAY too much into tufts of fur.
(And on a sidenote, can you please stop calling Deltarune "Undertale 2"? It isn't really a sequel per say. It's closer to a spinoff or an alternate universe. It's kinda hard to tell what Deltarune is, to be honest...)
It’s more simple to say it’s an Undertale 2 because let’s be honest, nobody wants to say “it’s an alternative universe/timeline story that’s a spinoff to Undertale with the same characters, play style, and jokes, along with an entirely different main character and your choices don’t matter anymore.” (That literally classifies it off as an AU, AT, Spinoff, non decision based RPG and a separate game)
So yea, Undertale 2 is the easiest way to describe DeltaRune for most people including me.

Ray Akuma I was wrong about the King being the one to open them, but the Knight mentioned by the King can open these fountains. The King says this during his fight. The fountain did not just open there. Why would the world naturally offset itself?
If they sealed the light fountain, there wouldn't be any light at all anymore.
Strong evidence suggests that Ralsei is a toy goat that Asriel and Kris made in their childhood. Kris and Asriel made a game with it, along with many other toys in the class with Mr Gerson, their teacher. Who dies later on, and everyone changes classes.
They made up the Dark World, and based it on events in Undertale. Many monsters met here seem to be based on a monster from somewhere in the Undertale cast, with an opposite personality and different positions in the game to suit that. The story follows the Undertale story very closely. (Presumably, Undertale is a story or legend in this game that Mr Gerson told them)
Ralsei leads Kris and Susie to the Lightswitch, which lights up the class and gets rid of the Dark World and freeing the two in the process.
The talk of Lighteners not coming in any more, to change the worlds over, is down to Mr Gerson dying and all the toys being left there after the empty classroom became disused. The relevance of it, and the hows and whys of it happening is hard to pinpoint at this time.

In the dark world you can find a tree with a "strange man" standing behind it, he gives you an egg, and when you leave the dark world you still have said egg. this is proof that some way somehow, it was all real.

my take:
in chapter 2, queen reallys likes noelle and treats her like a child. noelle's dad says that noelle's mother likes controlling her and being bossy, and with him in the hospital it is not balanced anymore in the house. this leads to queen existing.
ralsei is probably the same but with asriel. (they both don't turn into stones either)

I wonder why people aren’t asking why tf ralsei can live in the cyber world when he is the prince of the dark one so therefore he should be the most tied to the portal so why does lancer and the puzzle guy turn to stone but not him
It's pretty obvious that Ralsei is in some form related to Asriel and hiding something, I just don't think he is the Asriel from Krises universe since he had a colored sprite talking box the whole game, as had everyone else in the Dark world except for Susie, who came from the Same World as Kris where everyone has black and white ones. So if he was that worlds Asriel his talking box Sprite would have also been black and white.
1) We only have the first chapter of Deltarune, out of who knows how many. So it's quite literally impossible to say for certain what is or isn't really happening. That said, theorizing is still perfectly fine, but anything pertaining to the overarching plot, or events we've yet to experience in Deltarune's universe, etc, all ought to be taken with a few grains of salt.
2) This is something you probably overlooked Underlab, but i think it disproves that Ralsei is Asriel, or any kind of Monster at that.
Every time we talk to a Monster, should they have a portrait, it is always completely black and white. And every Darkner that has a portrait, has their's in color.
Alphys', Susie's, Birdley's, Toriel's, all of them have completely black and white portraits.
But that's just on the Surface, what about in the Dark World? Maybe being in the Dark World would give a Monster's portrait color? The menu changes when we enter the Dark World, so it's no stretch to assume the portraits could change too.
Well, the answer to that, is a resounding no.
Susie's portrait remains completely black and white, both on the surface and in the dark world.
So this means that Ralsei is NOT a Monster, as his green cloak and red scarf as fully colored in the text box.
And even once he removes his hat and shows you his face, there's still color.
Ralsei is a Darkner, not a Monster.
3) I can understand your thinking of Ralsei not wanting to make anyone worry, but even if you go out of your way to tell people that there's an underworld of darkness inside the school, they completely shrug it off.
When talking to Undyne, you have the option to report to her of the existence of the Dark World, and she responds as so;

_* There's a Dark World inside the school?_
_* Uh... SURE kid._
_* There's no law against Dark Worlds anyway!_
_* That's a job for the school board!_
For me, it seems very clear that no one is gonna take you seriously if you tell them there's a magical world inside the school's supply closet.

Atom Sorcerer i agree with most of it, but that bad naming being genetic.. i think he worded it wrong, you know the phrase like father like son? How kids adopt some of their parents personality traits due to them being their role models growing up. So in a way what he said was right, you know? But either way i agree with everything else you said. I really like deltarune so far and i cant wait for chapter 2 and onwards!

Huh. That IS a good point. However, I would think the very opposite. The red heart, the determination soul, usually shows up when YOU are the one controlling, or directing the character. I’d think maybe... Kris and Ralsei are onto something. The way both of them have, at least once, turned to face the player after a cutscene. During the time when Susie confronted Lancer in the dungeons, Kris and Ralsei may not have been talking about Susie, but the player, YOU. When you try and direct Susie in the dungeons, it’s not Kris’s voice, as she assumes, but yours. At the end of chapter one, Kris throws you into a birdcage in the middle of the night. Think, have we ever been able to control Frisk in the middle of the night, under Toriel’s care? Huh. Maybe that’ll come up later on, but for now, all we know is this: Both Ralsei and Kris know of your existence, and.. are rebelling? Maybe it’s too early to tell, but this may be what’s happening.

Asriel is in the dark world because he can't bare the responsibilities of growing up in the real world, to grow up and leave his town full of the people he loves.
It's a world he fabricated to play with you. That's why everything is so one simple in the darkworld. In the surface it's a mediocre and generic story of good and evil, where everything is a toy, because it's all fabricated by the mind of a child. In here, you literally can't deviate from Asriel's "suggestions".
Asriel controls everything that happens, because just like in the final boss fight of undertale pacifist run, he wants to play with us forever, not because he's evil, but because he is immature and doesn't want to let go.
Think about it, if you open up your save file, the last possible save point is not where you're about to leave, it's right before the final boss. You can go in and experience the world for as long as you'd like and be with Asriel in an adventure. This is exactly what he was begging for in tears, for you to not win, to play forever.
Perhaps he is the one possessing us when we try to drop the ball of junk, so we don't detach ourselves from him and his world, and perhaps he is the one controlling our body at night, to kill everyone because he KNOWS we can reset, to prevent his evil from happening, because he knows we'll end up going back to the last save point, to play with him once more.

That's really the entire premise of the video. There is no proof that Ralsei summoned them. It's more likely that as he said he was "Waiting" for them, for a very long time. The real Asriel was scattered across time and space after all. He had nothing to do even during Undertale. People keep assuming that when Flowey assumed the form of Asriel that it was the same being, but it most certainly was not. Asriel's Soul is not accounted for in Undertale and was shattered across time and space. A lot of characters were also lost in time and space like Gaster's Scientists and the G-man himself. So it's highly unlikely that Ralsei did any summoning at all according to the points you present.
However I will give you a slight possibility. There is one time where Asriel's body would've touched Chara's soul. This is after a Genocide pacifist run where you hug Flowey. It could be at this time that Asriel's soul calls out to Chara causing him to make the timeline of Deltarune. However...

True, but that would be a rather random detail, making Ralsei a goat, and Underlab is just trying to work things out, as we have near no info. However, I think these stories might take place in alternate timelines, consider what happens when you mention 'Alphys' to Undyne. (Undyne does not know who Alphys is.)

i feel like the point of the detail is to throw everyone off. after all you can kind of piece it together at the beginning with the shape of the sprite the anagram of the name etc. but Toby wouldn't make it that obvious if it was meant to be a plot twist.

Should be noted that both Ralsei and Flowey both say "See that HEART, (name)? That's your SOUL, the culmination of your being!" One of the songs is "Fields of Hopes and Dreams" would also tie the two characters together. I was amused that Ralsei told Kris that their choices mattered at the great door, when both the starting game prompt and Susie told us they did not. (Though it matters on one fight if you wish to say goodbye) I also was amused that Ralsei closed the great door from the inside. Makes it seem like he doesn't want to return to his village castle.

One thing I took note of was how Ralsei tells Kris that his choices matter, yet when they are in jail, and Ralsei ask him if he thinks Susie will be okay, he follows by saying "Well, regardless of how you feel, I think you should try to imagine..." Effectively ignoring Kris' choice, despite saying that his choices matter.

Also, pink is literally a lighter version of red, so I'd say he's more determined if we go by colour. Nevertheless, great theory! @@L16htW4rr10r To be fair, primary red is more pink than you might think, the bright red we think of as standard has a more orange hue to it, I believe it's called vermillion (it was one of the colours on my acrylic paints, nothing special, it just sounds smart and it's so fun to say, but not trying to be pretentious I promise 😂).

Hey, what if triangles from Deltarune symbol doesn't represent monsters trapped underground, but souls. Monster, human and a prince from the dark(also a monster) they look almost like hearts and two of them are upside down, just like monster souls. I know it probably doesn't make any sense, but I just wanted to share it with u guys
Edit: one more thing. I no that Underground deltarune symbol means something different. But... wat if Goopster created that DeltaRune tmeline and the symbol with it. Just like a begging of the world, there was was emptiness, but also it never existed. When he created that symbol it was like it always existed. Monsters just didn't know what it means( In Underground no-one knows how it appeared, in Deltarune it was created by time and space) wut if that circle with wings doesn't represent an angel but that darkness fountain and wings are really water from the fountain...?

Undertale and Deltarune ar in COMPLETELY different timelines. So maybe, in the Undertale timeline, it represents "Freedom for Monsters", and in the Deltarune timeline, it represents "1 human and 2 monsters".
in undertale, the symbol represents the person who will free the monsters (be it from SPARING or killing), but giveen the nature of the prophecy it can be surmised the symbol (or at least, the three triangles) probably represents the three heroes

PLOT TWIST! Asreil went to pick Kris up from school, couldn’t find Kris’s classroom and accidentally stumbled into the closet!
Here is a random though: What if Jevils chaos caused there to be 2 ways to end the boss fight whit Lancers dad.
Here is the "proof":
He has the abilities of a joker. He can do anything, including the ability to chose what to give you after your fight, for pacify victory he gives a defensive item and for a fight victory and offensive item.
and if I remember correctly one of the text boxes during his fight state that "the air cracking whit freedom" or something similar. Do you think it's a mistake to presume that sense he has been locked in the castle allowing his chaos to build up and influence the surroundings, sense it could have lead to a crack in the worlds ironclad rule of: "your choices don't matter"
(explains why every difference in the story based on your actions took place in the castle.)
I don't think it is related to the two different outcomes of the King's fight. However, Jevil may really mean it when he says he can do anything. As in, he has the power to influence, change or just to damage the world. His actions could be able to disrupt balance or cause serious trouble. However, having it be related to the game's motif would mean that the "your choices don't matter" thing is a "known law of the world" and that honestly doesn't make any sense. Why would people know their choices don't make any difference? Why would that be a "law to follow"? That is simply something for us, and for those with "greater intelligence over how the world works" (think Sans in UT, for example), to know.
And he chooses to turn into something different for us depending on how we tackle the fight, yes. But that STILL doesn't change things in the end. It was a choice, yes, but it ultimately didn't matter. The game's rule isn't that you don't have a choice - it's just that they don't really affect the outcome. Now, back to the outcomes of the King's fight. They are quite different indeed, but we don't know what happens after. Whatever it may be, it's very much possible we will end up returning to the Dark World and everything is still fine. Just that instead of Ralsei and Lancer being safely in the castle, they had to escape it and we still end up reuniting with them or something.
I have another theory. Spoilers for Undertale, not really Deltarune.
Whenever LOVE is mentioned in the game, it is in all caps. We learn that this is because it is an acronym. The same goes for LV and EXP.
Now, SOUL is always capitalized. Nobody even thought it was weird. Go and check! SOUL is never lowercase!
This makes sense. When you sell your SOUL to Chara after the genocide route and reset, you still have control over the culmination of your being. Furthermore, real souls in most churches, like we see in Deltarune, are believed to not stay on Earth. Souls, lowercase, go to the afterlife, so why would monsters believe in the afterlife if they were proven otherwise? That is because a SOUL is not the same thing as a soul.
Edit: The turtle priest mentions the "angel." I don't know what kinda religion this is.

I have a better theory:the dark fountain transform place in quasi-fantasy "When the light is running low, And the shadows start to grow, And the places that you know Seem like fantasy " That explain all the points your theory resolve(Ralsei look like Asriel because he is a replacement of Asriel),without drawback like:
-Why Asriel want to hide this identity to Suzie but no Kris?
-How Asriel can he téléport us in The Dark from our bed?
-How can he modify the envirronement to make us believe we are in a dream(didn't worked anyway)

The Dark is real,but is a fantastic version of the real world created by the foutains of darkness,and so is influenced by the mind of the heroes. That's a mix beetween an imaginary world and a real world.
And thats why Ralsei is here:because Kris miss Asriel,so the Dark WOrld created a copy.Lancer is here because SUzie is on't have friend.

There also so many references to "marshmallow" both in Dark World and in Real World. The Dark Candy tastes like marshmallow, Kris' Ball of Junk made from scented marshmallow stickers, his favourite scented crayon is marshmallow, and the hot chocolate given by the Diner has marshmallow shaped like bunny.

If you go back to bed at the start of the game, you go to the dark world anyway. This theory would also explain that, since it wouldn’t be a problem for Asriel to move Kris while they slept.

I have to say something that's been bothering me a bit. Deltarune is a completly different world from Undertale. There is proof of this, because one, if it was a sequal, then where is Frisk? And if it was a prequel to undertale, then wouldn't it reveal the backstory of frisk or one of the other monsters?

My headcanon right now would be that the Deltarune world is the place that Sans was trying to go back to in Undertale. That would be the perfect explanation on how the two worlds are different from one another, yet still connected.
"I gave up trying to go back a long time ago." - Sans said this in his genocide dialogue. Go back where? We all assumed that it was the past, but his lab proved otherwise. There was a picture of three people happily smiling, as well as a drawing which said don't forget (Which is the title of the credits song. Coincidence? I think not). Three people? Remind you of anyone? There were also blueprints for a strange machine. A thrashing machine made by Lancer Industries, perhaps?

I think in some areas you would be correct. I think Ralsei is a representation of Asriel in the Dark World. My personal theory is that everything was to a large extent, a psychological event with magical influence. We do see Kris Soul in the Real World, so it would be save to say that Magic does exist, though underused due to a era of peace. We do know that from the Abandoned Classroom, many of the toys and things there were a part of the shared dream between Kris and Susie,. You can go to the Dark World just by going back to bed, so I say that once they were locked in the room by some mysterious culprit, they eventually fell asleep, with them falling being both metaphorical and literal. There is nothing saying Magic didn't connected them in the dream, with is why regardless, Susie develops. In the dream, it represents both the good and bad of both characters, their hopes in their dream. Asriel grew up with Kris, and did dress up for Halloween if you look through Toriel's computer, potentially as he did. It may be why he didn't react the same way Susie did when the hat was removed. Ralsei became a guide for Kris the entire time, while still retaining the traits of Asriel in this current AU. Remember, this Asriel is not the same one we met in Undertale, just as every other character isn't entirely the same. Alphys likes Mewmew 2 more than 1 and Undyne has both eyes.

Well, I have a bit of a theory of my own in this series of games. What if your choices your make during chapter one don't matter "right now" What if the story is like Mass Effect and what happens in previous chapters effects what happens in the next chapter instead? Maybe Toby is setting up the game to where little actions you do over the course of the game snowball into big differences at the very end.

My personal theory on Ralsei was that there was something like an old photo of Asriel somewhere in the closet(or beyond the locked door in the classroom. Which, seeing as pretty much everybody else in the dark world had a correlating item to them in the abandoned classroom, would give him a correlating item and explain his similarities to Asriel.
The great door likely correlates to the locked door in the abandoned classroom which probably leads to the closet in some way, although its possible it just leads to a small room and there's some kind of crack in the wall that Kris went through which correlates to the whole area they went through between falling into the dark world and reaching the abandoned 'town' that you find Ralsei in.

still, think Ralsei is going to be the big plot twist villain when the full game comes out. and no its not because of flowey. first of all whats in his castle. and second of all remember when he shut the big door behind you and the music stopped. the only thing I could see is tobyfox is staging ralsei as a villain as a red herring which also makes sense
there were more points leading to ralsei being the bad guy when I played the game. just can't remember them off the top of my head
Ralsei had a conversation with Kris while imprisoned. Course it was cut out so it can blow our minds later.
I don’t like how similar the dark world was to undertale’s story so I’m getting the feeling it’s going to be flipped upside down revealing what exactly was going. It’s a simple world that seems expendable but nods on parallels.
If Kris and Susie are to return to the dark world again you can bet Ralsei will be waiting only replaceable by either Asriel himself or a Darkner to represent all 3 groups.
Given Toby's apparent interest in dissecting the RPG genre, and various hints throughout - not least, the scene at the end of the chapter - I get the impression that the narrative of the game is based on us, the player, hijacking bodies, both in DR and UT, purely because we want something to entertain us. We seem to have more control over Kris than the Chara-like entity, as it only comes out after we explicitly say we're happy to relinquish control and end the chapter, so if Ralsei is Asriel, which is probable, it wouldn't surprise me if they were aware.
