My creta is getting delivered this Monday. My dad's thought process behind buying it was, we bought a dzire in 2013 with 0 discount and it was the top selling model at that time. In the 11 years of owning it we always had spare parts, third party service knew how to service it. And we sold it for 57% of its cost 11 years later. He applied the same logic to creta, it is the most sold model, we will continue to get spares through its course of life. It's actually punishing to stand out with a model that just doesn't sell.

After a few years, the Creta diesel engine's noise is like driving a tractor. It only provided a good driving experience for the first 20,000-30,000 km.😢

I think another reason for less Seltos sales is the fact that most of Kia dealers are Hyundai dealers and they don't really push for Seltos as they are already getting profits from the Creta.

I believe duster was the vehicle that redefined the mid size suv market. Renault made sure that with the duster, cars can be made great with minimalistic features and excellent reliability. But, then Hyundai Creta came in and destroyed its competitors by understanding the customer's requirements and bridged the gap with its excellent features.

The most crazy thing is that despite the competition increasing by about 10 folds since its inception, it still outshines every other car 😮

As an owner of i10 kappa 1.2. I feel like they did a great job. My father bought i10 in 2010 and since then we have not faced any problems even it has been driven around 1.5 lakh Kilometres. To be honest the quality of the material they used in that time was too good that the chrome element (logo’s, inner door handle, grill) etc. they still feel premium and in a span of time the chrome hasn’t lost the shine. But the downside of the car was the mileage. My father drives that car and the maximum mileage we’ve received is around 13-14 kmpl at an average speed 100-120 km/h. After 14 years of the age the car is still very fun to drive. Kudos to Hyundai Motors that it’s been a decade that the i10 kappa 1.2 (2010) has been discontinued they still provide the genuine parts of the vehicle. Overall, a perfect family car with an impressive driving experience with decent space for the rear occupants.

It will sell even more if it doesn't succumb to the already prevailing opinion of Hyundais not being dynamic and enthusiastic cars.

worst thing about hyundai is their cars are selling by features not from engineering perspective, from engineering perspective they are literally worst one in world, after about 30000 odd KM huge issues with engines/ turbochargers/radiator starts to creep in that costs a lot to owners me Being one of venue owner driven 50000 with changed turbo, radiator, AC coil ,fuel lines and what not, these hyundai cars look fancy on outside but from inside they are hollow shells with cheap bits and made to poor standards. Yet consumers prefer creta due to its segment first features, I would really request speakers to also cover services and reliability perspective of cars with all the knowledge they have.

This reminds of Sony vs Samsung. Honda and Japan as a whole is extremely conservative which has led to the fall of all brands across products. South Korea has brought a revolution to the car and electronics industry. The Big 4 they say. SAMSUNG, HYUNDAI, LG, KIA

All said & done Hyundai really out scores all others in competition is the Rear Seat Comfort for 3 & the the most differciating factor is the Outstanding Quality of After-Sales Services, Customers satisfaction & Peace of mind Ownership.
You just can't beat a Creata in India because of its admiration & aspiration for Creata amongst all sections of Indian buyers.

Hyundai cars live well till 4 years. Post that the quality starts showing up. Indians might be buying them, not many people are aware of the vehicles in details but when you look at the Asean market and Latin American market, the VW and Hondas rule them for a reason. Ofcourse, VW and Honda engineering being much better ofcourse.
VW 2.0 does have quality issues. Honda India is lazy and won't offer many features or options but engineering wise, those are much superior cars.

Nothing against the car, but Creta drivers should be given some moral education before Hyundai sells one unit to a customer, as otherwise they are a bunch of nuisance on the road, flashing headlights for no apparent reasons, honking like lunatics and of course high beam maniacs they're...not all, but majority.

JIMNY - is a classic case where manufacturers ego doesn't pay in same terms. Now at a discount of 2.5+ lakhs, Maruti just fooled it's loyal customer base and hence the distrust and diffidence in buying a premium product at it's POS.
CRETA Vs ERTIGA - I would go with Ertiga => Simple yet meets all basic needs. Ex: I would easily take my kids cycle for repair with 2-Rows-Folded
SYROS Vs JIMNY - I would go with SYROS => Premium and Cost worthy
CRETA Vs SELTOS - I would go with SELTOS => Looks upmarket but sacrificing for Creta (sibiling rivalry)
CRETA Vs HYRYDER Vs GRAND VITARA - I would go with HYRYDER => Trust and Cost-Per-KM (Ignoring Maruti here because it's sourced from Toyota. Why not then Hyryder?)
UNDER 10 Lakh On-Road Product - Blindly Maruti...
