    Only certain screen enclosures require a building permit. The homeowner can go through the permitting/construction process themselves no licensed contractor is required although it is recommended. There are plenty of local suppliers of aluminum extrusion as well as big box stores such as Home Depot and Lowe’s that will supply material. Roof/cage structures such as the one being assembled in the video are a special order through specialty aluminum dealers. 1x2, 2x2 and 2x3 extrusions can be purchased in 10’ sections here in Florida at Lowe’s or Home Depot. Specialty places can provide 24’ extrusions cut to specified lengths.

    • @daynapper7337
      @daynapper7337  Год назад

      True, its no secret you can purchase aluminum extrusion at home improvement stores at 10ft lengths. I can also buy PVC, doesn't mean I'm qualified to plumb my house. As a homeowner you can pull a permit, and you are also required to have inspections. So either you take the time to learn the trade and do the job right, or you can call a professional. Its really up to the individual. Personally, I find professionals when I need something done right the first time.

      Like Tyler mentioned every enclosure is custom to the structure it is attaching to, along with the shape of the concrete footer creating a perimeter for the enclosure. There is an AutoCad program that can be used, but all I use currently is a measuring tape and a calculator. Sorry I am not available to contact, maybe in the future I will make a video on the design and layout. Thanks for watching!

      Sorry to hear about your job. Unless you have someone that can teach you the trade it's not an easy one to jump into. Really just depends on the person. Got to be willing to endure the tough heat of Florida in the middle of the summer's with little to no shade, while grabbing metal that easily can go above 145°. I've spent 18 grueling years in the sun and it doesnt get any easier. Besides that it takes a financial investment of truck, trailer or rack, saws, drills, ladders, walkboards, basic hand tools, and (the hardest part in my opinion) you need a employ a couple guys that will stick it out until they are valued enough to warrant the pay they expect. Good luck with moving on from your last place of employment, I wish you the best!

My girlfriends dad has the credit line to get it started but we have no knowledge on where to start. Ive been watching a few videos here and there but that won't do anything for me if I don't get my hands on it. And finding anyone that wants to help give advice is next to impossible, given how greedy everyone is. I would never send myself in or a helper employee of the company on top of a pool enclosure that was clipped in if you do not know what clip-in is again you do not need to build or install a pool enclosure all 2x2 1x2 are equipped with screw bosses that are meant to be screwed internally that's why they are there I bet you a million dollars if I put my laser level on your enclosure it's out of plumb and level people like this should not build a pool enclosure clipping in everything jeopardizes the structural integrity of said pool enclosure let's just say you did have engineering just because your engineering States you can clip everything in does not make it structurally sound the company I work for has AutoCAD

      Sorry to tell ya bud, I too have been building custom pool Enclosures since 2002, I take "shots" (with a transit) and calculate all of my jobs, not one clip is used and nothing is "scribed". Which is exactly why everything is built and screened. We build on site and this is the process after the job is built. We engineer every job to Miami-Dade windcodes and each enclosure is inspected by a licensed official.
