So wonderful to see a property in Toorak being lovingly restored to its former glory while thoughtfully brought up to date for a family today. So many sites (perhaps like the one next door?) being flattened for truly awful faux Tara McMansions. Love the blend of the '30s panelled study and the very modern but classic living areas. I find use of too much marble a bit 'Toorak blingy' for me, but your choices so suits the 30s style of drama and style. Beautifully done.
They couldn't help themselves to include the usual rich people interior clichés from the Hermes throw to the Trudon candle to the eye popping stone. But what a beautiful arts and crafts inspired house, it could have taken some print on the walls and some subtle colour as you would expect it had back when it was built. But hey, at least it didn't get gutted into a bland white box. And the garden could have been much more loose to reflect the period of the house but I suppose if that's your business maybe you don't want the maintenance.
maybe, they wanted a different look? a neutral, calming, airy house? Its not too modern but not traditional. It feels cohesive to me and well-executed. I would've been happy to see a true arts and crafts home... had it been what the people living in it wanted. Multiple styles are ok as long as they are well-executed.
@@mrvk39 I suppose if you want a boring white box then buy a new built, at least that's the case in the UK. Not embracing wholeheartedly the style of an older house is a shame. But we all like different things and frankly we are temporary custodians so someone else will change it in the future.
I felt the love in this video, but i still feel there were still some aspects missing. I would love to talk to you, about what this could entail, also how i may be able to help.
Honestly in what universe is that island good for resale? NO BUYER wants your custom fantasy it’s just bad business to sell clients such abstract designs that will affect resale value, honestly just very disappointing (as a local East Village resident and real estate profesh) we constantly see sellers take a haircut on price bc of unique renovations that just don’t appeal to anyone else in the universe, just insane to me and frankly bad for their client.
I dont like house tours in a cinematic way feuturing unecessary angle of the house. Try "house & home" way present the house interior without any dramatic cinematography.

@@yousufmerchant2500 bathroom is very safe. I have all marble bathroom that was made 12 years ago. There is no staining. Kitchens are tricky. You need to seal your marble. If you don't, it will stain. And it also is prone to cracking if heavy pots or something sharp falls down. BUT if you notice, the kitchen is mostly hidden behind a nook. The big showy part with all that marble is a show kitchen - mostly just an island with seating.

I love this project that added new modern elements/materials to existing heritage charms.
more landscape architects please!!
Too much emphasis on the product. Not enough on the exploration of the house. The flow of the scenes feels off, unlike what this channel used to be.
With a dream features like this, every members of the family can enjoy life together. 🌿💛
lovely lovely home. congrats on such a total package.
The Local Project is all about Perfection. ✨
진짜 꿈의 정원이군요.
한국이지만 꼭 가보고 싶은 마음입니다.

Me encantó el detalle de la chimenea ese material blanco y negro con los toques de madera al igual que el de la cocina es sumamente hermoso.

Folks usually don't want to "bring work home".

Lovely home.
All that marble is so nouveau riche.
It's kind of lacking creativity and cohesiveness. For some reason all of the rooms look like they each belong to a different home?
La casa es hermosa. Todo bien y para mí falta un poco de color y alegría, algo fuera de sitio y sorprendente; en definitiva vitalidad.
that was not long enough I want to see more, I watched this over and over again

What kind of plant along the fence near the pool?
looked like a ficus species, often used for hedging.

What type of tree is the lollipop trees between the fence and the pool?
Obsessed with the outside of the house, not a fan of the inside
1:40 Hellison house. Another property.
🙌
Clicked to me at 4:14 as to why the home felt a bit bare - no art on the walls!
lol "restrained material palette" with that marble? insanity

Sorry, boring and cold. Marble is unforgiving and is so overused in this house.

marble this marble that bla bla bla
Weird
Gardening business must be good
The "husband" is in finance.
No need for speech marks on husband
Not so good, looks quite average..and some of the cliche objects don’t help.
Agreed besides the stone the house is nothing special at all…. Landscape architects making too much these days for picking grass

Why is there so much marble!
I quite like it.
i also like it. It's very minimalist and that marble adds vibrancy to it.
Marbles is a very porous stone… especially in the kitchen and the bathrooms it’s prone to stain

The marble table is so beautiful!!
You gave it a famous name for such a regular house.
Beautiful.
After bearing 0:25 ; I'm definitely out !!!
Not a fan of these all marble kitchens, however the more subtle marble in the bathroom is really chic
The Nyssa trees grow up to 100ft-why place in an inner city suburban yard?
