One thing I got from this, you said to Soteria "your Brother is in there" even before knowing the gender. And it's actually a boy now. Your faith, your declarations. I am just so happy for your family.
This God is indeed a good God. When you are not at peace with something, dont do it. Just follow the wisdom the God and things will work out. My husband and I got married in 2013, joined him in canada 2014, nothing happened(well we werent trying in the first year) but the second year came, nothing, went to the dr, found out I had Fibroid but we kept trying, tried iud, didnt work then with the fibroid, we opted for ivf, it was quite difficult. Finally I had a surgery, tried ivf for a second time by this time, my husband had moved to the US while i had to wait back to get my citizenship. Finally, got my citizenship, moved to the US dec 2017. In jan 2018, went for a test, nothing happened and exactly the next month, we decided to try on our own and then boom, it happened. Baby boy born 2018 Nov, second son a year and a half later born 2020. This God ehn is too much, he wont allow anyone or anything to take the glory. All glory belongs to him and him alone.

The highlight for me is that even a early as the 1st 2 days of finding out she is pregnant, she's been saying "your brother".
Sometimes, we pray for certain things from God, but we're too shy to call it out. She didn't think for a second that the child could be a girl. She kept saying "brother".
I really need to start doing this-to call a thing, a thing.

This isn’t a bash to her at all but I am very curious as to why this was the case. I see a lot of African women go through so much shaming for not having a male child and please educate me if I am wrong but the sex of the baby is determined by the father right?
If she however had a baby girl what would that have meant to her? Like I said, I am just curious… is okay to want something but when you are on a platform like this and sharing parts of your life with the world, is important to be sensitive in order to not send out the wrong message out.
There are so many women wanting a male child just to please the man because most of them still don’t value Female children.

We most times prayed for something and we dnt get it and sometimes we get it but we just have to ask with FAITH believing that He will give us the best we deserved! The fact that they display their life, does not mean they are not humans, they only have unwavering beliefs in God and HIS ways! If she had a girl, I am sure she will be equally grateful to God for the gift. All things work together for good...
