Great video. I turn 1 year as an apprentice on 6/26/24. Very inspiring stuff my dude. The thing that keeps me going is knowing that too many people want to be influencers and are afraid to get down and dirty with hard work.

If you don't mind me askin, how did you start as a apprentice? Did you have experience before choosing this trade? Did you need qualifications? And the main thing I worry about is math. Im horrible at it.

@@Armoni_out_the_way Mon, I didn’t have any experience at all when I first started I was just coming out of retail. I called a lot of the local electrical companies in my area & I applied to place called IEC , INDEPENDENT ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS a company contracted me after & that’s how I got started. I also went to TDLR.com and purchased my Electrical apprentice license for 20 dollars. It took about 5 days to come in.. Hope that helps some, Let me know how everything goes! You got this..🙏🏽

@@Armoni_out_the_way yea for sure man. Im working with a local company in my hometown. The biggest thing is you want to be with a great company that has a great reputation, and electricians with great hands on experience. To be the best you must learn from the best. Big corporations doesn’t always mean better. I would also research if you your state requires you to have an apprenticeship certification before working for a company. In Arizona we don’t. As far as the math goes, it will come with practice. Get a measuring tape and get familiar with measuring. Our friend Stephen here made a video on getting familiar with a measuring tape. For adding fractions i have an app that adds mixed numbers for me. Most of all face any fears that arise.

Good topic to discuss. You not alone in this journey. We are more alike than we are different. My journey was similar to what yours is now. Trusting the process has its moments of difficulty but it will always make you stronger in your faith and in your trade. My wife and I will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary next month. What I have learned from my experience is to always make time for God and Family before anything else. Other things will come and go but family will have a greater part in life.

Hang in there man, in a similar boat. Been doing this for a little over 2 years as a career change. Married with a teenager. Between going to school and studying, balancing the home life is tough. Especially when you have those rough weeks where you are exhausted and just want to pass out when you get home and sleep for the rest of the night. But when you have a family you have to keep it going lol

I love seeing brothers in the trades! I been thinking about becoming an electrical apprentice, so recently I made some phone calls and like that 🫰🏿 they told me get my electric apprentice license and come in next month with my documents, tuition, and fill out an app and do orientation. My question is, what’s the next step after you fill out the application? Because it seems to me they’re going to hire me on the spot but I just wanna be sure tho.
Also, I agree, it’s TOUGH balancing family, work, studying all that. Team work makes the dream work fa real!

@@BeardGawd88 I appreciate it Brother! Congratulations on your new journey, I really think you’re going to like it, it’s a lot of hard work but I definitely believe it will be worth it in the end. If they seem like they’re going to hire you on the spot I would possibly start looking at getting some affordable hand tools, maybe a small backpack & trying to familiarize yourself with some of the electrical materials. Bushing’s, Connectors, Meyers hub etc… Congrats again Brother, Let me know how it goes!🙏🏽
