It could Maxim the Magnum but, its Tyler. FYI, the HEMI is not gone yet. Still in the RAM 2500 and 3500 and don't be surprised if it comes back in 2 years, just saying, 😃
This isn't even such an outlandish thought. The Dodge Magnum is built on the Chrysler LX platform (same as the Chrysler 300 or the early 2000s Dodge Charger), which shares a lot of parts with Mercedes-Benz models from the same time. The front suspension is from the S-Class, the rear suspension is from the E-Class, basically all the body electronics are from Mercedes, the automatic transmission is from Mercedes, and the optional 4WD drivetrain is literally just a rebranded Mercedes 4MATIC system with all the same electronic controls. In Europe, we got the Chrysler 300C in sedan and station wagon body style, which was also offered with a Diesel engine here, and that Diesel engine was literally the exact same 3.0l OM 642 V6 which you could get in every Mercedes model from the C-Class and up at that time.
It's so funny... I just told my wife last night that the Magnum SRT-8 was THE car that got me into wagons and then you guys drop this video today. 😂 Once the CTS-V2 wagon dropped; I was completely in love with them. 💯
@ But you won’t find a nearly mint V6. As much as I usually like keeping cars stock, a Hellcat Magnum is similar build to Aprils Grand Camino in the way that it definitely could’ve happened. Had they not axed the El Camino and Magnum from to poor sales, both would’ve existed.
My sister-in-law has one of these still. She loves it! It's fun to try to get into/out of the back seat. Once you're in, pretty comfy. Wow Hoovie, you're CUT OFF! I would recommend buying that Magnum!!
Went to buy one of these back in 2006 when they came out. But ended up getting the SRT8 Jeep because it was AWD and the wagon was only RWD. It was for my wife and she drove it in the winter. Plus we had a new baby on the way. I wanted a "practical" car but a beast on the street. Drove the Jeep to 175K and 10 years. I still miss it. That baby is graduating HS in the spring! Crazy.
I really enjoyed my Magnum RT. It responded really well to mods. It really proved it’s worth hauling music gear, camping equipment, lumber and building supplies and when it came time to move into a new house. An 8 foot piece of tubing or lumber easily fit inside. The MBRT 3” duals sounded wicked good ! The AWD RT models were really highly valued in the Great Lakes area. My Magnum retained excellent value too. When I traded it for a Mustang the Ford Dealer had it resold in less than a week ! They were discontinued to make way for the Challenger in 2008.
Back just before these cars were released onto the market, Dodge was the title sponsor for the tour of Georgia multi stage, bike race, a week long cycling event with top pros from all over the globe competing on the streets of Georgia USA, and that years race used a whole fleet of these as support and pace cars for the weeks event across Georgia. They were maroon with the Georgia peach and race graphics on the side and hood. They were so cool to see pre the official release & they would still be cool today if they were being made now.
Best video yet...April loving the Magnum rumble as she sped off from the light was priceless...LX platform could be the last true American muscle from DODGE.....SO SAD🔥🔥🔥
Mine brand new came with a box of Magnums in the glovebox and a mattress in the back. After 5yrs my Magnum's back windows and sidepanels looked like I had been making 5gal of coleslaw. HA HA!! 18 TO 80, BLIND, CRIPPLED OR CRAZY!! YEAH!! 🤣
For a car that spent almost all of its life in Minnesota it looks good. Crazy they are asking what msrp was in 07 for it today. I had an 06 sxt with a dealer installed borla dual exhaust. Sounded great. It drove better once the entire front end was replaced after 60k.
Well done. I loved the new format. Really good. I know April still needs to work on her monologues but she will get it soon. She needs to find her groove like the other Car Girls do. Hoovies expertise was great this time and his feeling for the car over the rest of the bunch really showed that he knew what he liked and knew that the Magnum was a diamond in the rough. Great show. I watched it all and the joking at the end left me laughing and feeling good about watching the show.
I owned a Magnum for about a month. Never lost that much money on a car. So much was wrong with it. I still love the look of those power wagons, but that one had been abused and I missed it. Thousands of dollars later, after purchase price, the transmission started acting up so I dumped it to Car Max.
I had an 05 Magnum RT with the 5.7 for awhile. Absolutely loved the car and hauled drum and DJ gear to gigs every weekend in it. Unfortunately every Mercedes part on it was trash. The front end would have a new clunk every 6 months because the car was too heavy for the parts used. I had to wrench on it often but I drove it to 200k and to my knowledge it's still running around with its current owner.
I bought my Crown Victoria from Chicago motor company! I was shocked that a dealership that had Lamborghinis had a Crown Victoria also but they treated me good and they actually shipped the car to me for free!
I had a dodge magnum SXT from 2006-2018, had hail damage but the v6 was tuned and I could keep up with a hemi but never beat them. Sold the car with 235,000 miles on it. Wish I had it back
DO A CALENDAR!!!! I’ve been saying it for years on hoovies channel. Now April mentioned it. Has to happen!! She gets to pick the car for April because of course
The problem with the Magnum RT and SRT8 is that the transmissions are very slow to shift. Most people upgrade the solenoids in the transmissions to the ones found in the AMGs and that wakes the car up drastically. Throttle House did a video on their second channel of a Magnum R/T with this upgrade.
Dodge magnum SRT8. StatsFrom the September 2005 issue of car and driver: Window sticker price: $42,945. Engine: Iron block and aluminum heads. 370 cubic inches. 425hp. @6000rpm 420 pound feet of torque. @4800rpm 120 inch wheel base. 57 inches tall. Weighs 4379 pounds. Sticks to a 300 foot circle skidpad up to .87 of one g-force. 14 mpg. ⛽ And c'mon hoovie don't ask her for 50k then suggest getting rid of the grand camino!! Your breaking her heart! The grand national is what brought you guys together!! THAL SHALL NOT SPEAK OF GETTING RID OF BUICK ANYTHING GRAND NATIONAL REALATED‼️ LOVE ❤AND GRAND NATIONAL ARE ONE IN THE SAME‼️( if not then it's very close) I bet April would agree with that thinking....atleast to some level or another. Hoovie i hope you read this.
A Magnum is what the Brits call a Shooting Brake since the design of the car is actually an inverted air foil to push down on the car when going high speeds. A wagon is just square.
This car was so cool! What a shame that they dont make them anymore. A hell cat magnum would’ve been a great seller honestly. Also happy for hoovie my dude living his best life lmao
The Challenger is actually it's own platform (LC/LA) rather than LX, reduced in length and some other stuff, but similar handling. I really wish I had a nicer example of my Magnum, it truly is a nice car
I really liked this car. Been looking for one for ages that is in good shape and NOT silver Also you can actually manual swap these! If I could find a 2008 with low-ish miles and good maintenance record, I would be all over it
Where are all the pun comments at?!?!
It could Maxim the Magnum but, its Tyler. FYI, the HEMI is not gone yet. Still in the RAM 2500 and 3500 and don't be surprised if it comes back in 2 years, just saying, 😃
@@aprilsgarage HELLCAT MAGNUM
Contoured for your pleasure 😂😂😂
Being serious I've always loved the look of this car!!! Best looking stationwagon since the Nomad❤❤
"It seems bigger..."
Sure it does, April. It's a Magnum.
I had a Magnum once, I always walked out sore….because the seats activated my sciatica.
If u think about it long and hard... The Dodge Magnum SRT-8 is basically an American Mercedes-AMG E63 wagon.
Or an american holden stationwagon
Very true, but that is one sexy dodge wagon.
This isn't even such an outlandish thought. Yep. I remember years and years ago getting a ride in a Chrysler 300C with the V8 hemi. The acceleration could maybe be described as effortless.
Except where it matters. The interior is lacking
They seem so happy for each other, I couldn't be happier for them. All the best to Tyler and April😀
It's so funny... I just told my wife last night that the Magnum SRT-8 was THE car that got me into wagons and then you guys drop this video today. 😂 Once the CTS-V2 wagon dropped; I was completely in love with them. 💯
Tyler got so lucky finding April (though she probably thinks she's the lucky one, which makes Tyler's luck even greater lol).
you can thank her when she's camming in a few years
Here’s an idea - Scrap the Hellcat rebuild and put its new engine in this!
More cost effective to put it in a V6 / 5.7 car
Hell yeah. April could buy this. Stick Tylers Hellcat and it could be The Hell Pussy Waggin with April Airbrushed on the hood.
There's a lot involved in a Hellcat swap. The ECU, gauge cluster, and ignition switch all have to also be swapped in alongside the drivetrain.
Also the BEST TV commercial ever. "Hey man, what ya got in that thing?" Anybody else remember it?
I got something you don't... Parachute!
Best wagon ever was the CTS-V with a stick shift. What a bonkers car for Cadillac to have made!
obviously you don't live in Australia ...
go look up HSV CLUBSPORT wagons ....😮
I think i read somewhere that Comedian Jeff Dunham got the last CTS-V Manual transmission wagon to roll off the assembly line, lucky bastard!
My sister-in-law has one of these still. She loves it! It's fun to try to get into/out of the back seat. Once you're in, pretty comfy.
Wow Hoovie, you're CUT OFF! I would recommend buying that Magnum!!
Long live the wagon!
Not the first time Hoovie and April have tried a magnum
I wonder which one preps the bull?
Hoovie definitely goes in raw
I have owned 3 of these in my life. The SRT Magnum is the best wagon ever built! Awesome video.
Its the ONLY way April's getting a Magnum out of Hoovie
HAHAHAHAHAAH
@@bawintermage8351 April liking this instead of all the ones suggesting they use condoms 👀👀👀

😄
Very rude.
April is giving off major Jerri Ryan energy.😅 If you know, then you know
I had a 2006 SRT-8 magnum in 2007. Drove it for 60k miles without any issues. Loved it. Always wanted to get back into one.

I find that car WAY more appealing than any Bugatti.
The base model 2006 C6 actually had a 400hp LS2 and the LS3 that came out shortly after had 430hp. 😅
It takes a lotta rubber to contain a Magnum. You guys are sooo good.

I love April's choice for cars, comfy and with power! I do like the towncar, and mainly land yachts !
The only sleeper that will satisfy April.
All Hoovie wants for Christmas is a turnstile in his hooptie garage.
I love the content you two are doing and the selection of cars, these are gems, wish I had one, dates or not.
April’s hair is stunning! She slayed her outfit! 💅
I've always loved the Magnum. Hoovie, up the begging game! You have to get that!
You guys have such good chemistry together. This style or format of videos work 🙂
Great vibes, you two !! This put a big smile on my face.
Great couple good chemistry guys

Such a cool car of that era. And one of the best looking engine bays as well!
Thanks for sharing guys !
I love the older car reviews. Keep up the great work, good content. 😊
This is my favorite Dodge of the era!!!! Yes over the challenger and charger!!!
I love the dodge magnum wagon such a cool looking car with a V8 win win
I loved and miss my 05 awd r/t
I had a Magnum RT AWD. It was an awesome car and I enjoyed my time with it. A 365 day a year muscle car.
Couldn’t be more adorable. You guys are going places.
All I can say is WOW!
Totally awesome car! Great video, it looked like y’all had a lot of fun!!
YEAH!! 🤣
Definitely buy it April! As Always, May God Bless you and yours!
I was looking to purchase this exact car, my friend just bought the srt8 cherokee they had at the dealership... that magnum is in great condition!!!!
I've heard the magnum is horrible in the snow and seems they were problematic if lesser models, but I also like wagons!! Keep it coming!!

In Europe they were sold as 300C wagon, with the 300C front end. And I think they looked way better that way
I love this car 🇺🇸 hell yea brother
I love wagons!!
I really miss that Hemi motor music !
What a GLORIOUS NOISE…

I loved the Car Wizard before the beard when he was doing those old Hemi commercials. Hey... That thing got a Hemi in it?
Great video

Well its definitely got a good length to it without being painfully long, a good girth and has the power to please.
Junkyard Dave. The king of magnums. His current charger to magnum conversion with trackhawk drivetrain is insane. Check him out
I love these magnum ❤❤. They want $20,000 more than it's worth.

The magnum was the only wagon ever built that I really liked

I love wagons. Had 2 Volvo wagons and wouldn't daily anything else. 😊
Chip foose put a Chrysler 300 front end on one of these. It looked so good.
Luv’n The Magnum!!! 👍😊👊💥
So sick!

BUY IT!!! Trade in your Blue Mustang mach 1 that you have. This is sooo much better
