Dismissing NZ the way you do, is not in your interest, as you should have learned by now. Also in the past 2 years, it is 2 wins a piece. So it is even, but you forget this.
@@KiwiGraggle A fan making a comment on the internet is not the team getting ahead of itself. Some perspective please. Ireland lost vs NZ in the world cup because they played the worst 40 minutes of rugby in the first 40 minutes of that game that they played in over 2 years allowing NZ a 13-0 head start. Geordie Barrett also admitted that Ireland grounded the ball for a legit try that was disallowed during the game too. So Ireland should still have won. Sour grapes? Not at all, just facts.
As an Irish man, hard to say anything bad about that predicted selection. Seems spot on. The only question I'd have is if he'll start Joe McCarthy or not. It'll be an interesting game because when they beat the Springboks in July they were missing 6 of their starters, which was close to half their starting team, but now they have effectively a full house with only one injury and that will make them very solid, while the All Blacks have lost two key players from last weekend. Bauden Barrett will be a massive loss as he effectively carried them to two victories during their home test series against England in July. Of course the All Blacks have the advantage with 2 tests under their belt while Ireland haven't played since July. So it'll be a very interesting game and it'll come down to which team gets off the mark first
So you'd have Henshaw in over ringrose and not even have ringrose on the bench? But you'd put in Henshaw in the starting line-up with no game time. Ehh ok ted.
Yeah bro- my thoughts exactly, just like last time they thought they had only to turn up to collect the win. Talk about delusional. Spud heads to get reamed out again 😛
Thanks again. Good selection. Hooker a little unknown atm. 4, 5, 6 good, as i really rate Cian Prendergast, but most likely see Beirne there & James Ryan with Joe McCarthy. Stockdale exciting but leaky in defence? Mac just leaky too atm but think he's not 100% atm. Otherwise very good. Close game coming it think. ABs will be up for it. Can't call it even though Ire are home favs. NZ by a score or Ireland by 3 scores. Who knows tbh? Keep up the great vids! work
@KickOnRugby I thinks it's a combo of that & the aggressive locks being McCarthy & Ryan with the power of Beirne being the better jackaler in the back row with de flier & dorris. Looking forward to a good battle where ireland try to close the Setiti run in the channels. The wing will be whomever can contain Taelea. Both tall orders tbf. Good luck both teams.
Well Ireland best come to play, we will, it will be an amazing and exciting game no matter who wins, England thought they had it 😘that was then this is now, Ireland is gonna be a challenge and a half, ❤
@@KickOnRugby Stockdale is outstanding in attack, but a liability in defence unfortunately. He's hard to keep out of the conversation though because when he's on form he can be devastating. Really looking forward this game. This going to rugby at its finest. There will probably be about 5 Kiwi fans in total travelling across the world for the game, but for those that are, I hope you enjoy your time in Ireland 😅
@KiwiGraggle didn't even mean that disrespectfully mate. With the price of flights and the outrageous distance to be travelled, there surely can't mean many Kiwis coming over for the game?
New time rules on the line out might cause similar chaos for Ireland if the Irish hooker doesn't get his groove early. Herring might be a better option to go with.
This Irish team predication is very poor, IMHO. But I am an Irish fan, so I should have more insight into this. For this reason, I will make an attempt at predicting the lineup, and also, my selections if I was coach Andy Farrell. Porter, Kelleher and Furlong, to start in the front row. Very straight forward for us and has been like this for awhile now, but I would pick either Kelleher or Herring based on who is fitter. Hoping the scrum can hold. McCarthy and Ryan will be my locks. You can easily go with Beirne, but I would rather have him at 6, no other reason. For me James Ryan is the main man, its James Ryan plus one, and McCarthy is to good to drop. This worked in SA against the world champs, so why change. Beirne, Van Der Flier and Doris, my captain, picks themselves. I think this is the best back row in world rugby and it should be a tantalizing battle seeing the red-hot form that the AB's back rows have been in as well (namely Sititi). Gibson Park and Crowley, will be my halfbacks, with respect to Frawley. But Crowley has done nothing in a green jersey to lose his spot and hopefully Frawley, off the bench, can deliver the same magic he delivers in SA. No need to change this. Aki, and Ringrose, in potentially the hardest positions to call. However, there is no doubt that Ringrose will be wearing 13. Aki’s form has slightly dwindled, Henshaw is very light on gametime, and no reason to throw Osborne into the deep end again (without mentioning McCloskey who is Brilliant!). I would be happy with any of these TBH. Lowe, Keenan and Hansen have been the main men in green for most of this Farrell era, and this is what I would do. This position is the hardest to pick IMO. Stockdale wont play, as his defence is fraudulent, and against the best back 3 in world rugby, no thank you. To replace them, Healy, Heffernan, and Bealham, will replace my front row. Undoubtably the weakest position of the field. Heffernan has gametime and is reliable, and is familiar with Bealham (at club level), so there should be cohesion there, he is also capped for Ireland and has played the impact sub role. The fact we are considering Healy shows the fragility of our propping stocks, donations from SA accepted. Ian Henderson will replace Joe McCarthy, who isnt an 80 minute man just yet. Ryan Baird will replace James Ryan and Tadgh Beirne will move to second row. For me Baird is Irelands best impact sub, and I believe he can call himself the bomb diffuser (SA). I wouldn’t mind going with O’Mahony, and im not sure how they will do this, but this is how I would do it. I am not considering 6-2 split as I feel backs for Ireland will be just as important, but this could happen. Casey, Frawley and Osborne, will make up the 5-3 bench split. Casey has proven himself, and we require his fast tempo to play, but I wouldn’t be surprised (or disappointed) with Murray, especially with the new laws. Frawley is obvious as he earned his spot from SA. Its harsh on Henshaw (and McCloskey), who I think will be there, but Osborne doesn’t deserve to be kicked out and he covers more positions (back 3), so he makes my team. Nash is unluck and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him, with Mac Hanson on the bench instead. I think this is reasonable, and I am looking forward to an intense game on the weekend - Ireland by a Frawley drop goal (PLEASE).
It should be noted, that I do not expect Farrell to experiment and rotate, as for me, this is the biggest game we will play this year (sorry SA, but home games are more important IMO). This is what I believe to be our strongest lineup, with regards to the injuries we are facing (no complaining as AB's are hurting aswell).
@@niallsheehan474 I'm not debating that Kick On has rugby knowledge. That's why I watch this channel, to learn more about SA and the AB's, who I don't know a whole heap about. But on the Ireland squad, this is not the case. If Farrell names a squad, with Cian Prendergast and/or Jacob Stockdale, while excluding Gary Ringrose and Ryan Baird - Then I will donate 50 bucks to the channel, it wont happen.

While every All Black game matters - most of us Kiwis know we are in a rebuilding phase. So this northern hemisphere jaunt is more of a learning exercise than a do-or-die tour. While we are blessed for props - unfortunately hooker (aside from Cody Taylor) still looms as a weakness. Aumua is a bulldozer but can't throw straight 95%+ like Cody. George Bell is good, but not great (at least not yet). A fit Taukeiaho (minus whatever mental challenges he's dealing with) is my #2 behind Cody, then Aumua, and Bell. LOCKS is another weakness but that's going to be fixed with 6'9" 118kg giant Fabian Holland - who should have been player of the match against Munster. Another 6'8" giant is Sam Darry, who's still finding his feet at AB level but isn't far off. And 6'8" Josh Lord is pretty close too. Darry and Lord need to beef up about 5-10kgs each, and we will have 3 internationally-tall beefy locks ready-made... and they can battle it out with Vaa'i (6'7" 118kg) and the outgoing Paddy Tuipolutu (32 in Jan '26). Meanwhile I'd shift Scott Barrett to the troublesome No.6 (where I reckon he'll be devestating), Sititi to 8 and Ardie to 7. My 2026 starting ABs 15? 1. De Groot 2. Taylor 3. Lomax 4. Vaa'i 5. Porter, Kelleher, Furlong. Ryan, McCarthy Beirne, Van Der Flier, Doris. Gibson-Park, Crowley, Lowe, Aki, Ringrose, Hansen, Keenan Bench: Healy, '?', Bealham, Henderson, Baird, Murray, Frawley, Osborne. Not sure about the Bench hooker - Herring has hardly played any minutes this season so far. Farrell may go in another direction - Kelleher has just returned from an ankle procedure and gambling with both players seems a stretch. Cian Healy can play at hooker in an emergency.
@@fawltyoldboybasil.2178 yeah Sheehan being out really throws a spanner in the works at hooker. Am sure whoever they pick to start at 2 will step up though💪
Your team is solid but no Furlong, hes out injured , but its a secret until tomorrow, and Stockdale is a left winger likr lowe so can't play 14, and way his defense is shiite, Nash deserves the jersey after his SA performance and his URc form, Hansen has played little rugby and when he has ,has looked well off form for Connaught. But lets see. Love the contact man
Furlong ruled out. Bealham will start. I think Ryan and McCarthy will be in the second row with Beirne at 6 and he will sort sititi out. It’ll be Aki and ringrose in the centre. Stockdale could start, he’s been brilliant this season to date but I think Farrell will stick with Hansen and Lowe with Keenan at FB. O’mahony will miss out and Ryan Baird will take his place in the bench. Also with furlong out Tom o’toole will come in. Porter Kelleher Bealham McCarty Ryan Beirne JVDF Doris JGP Crowley Lowe Aki Ringrose Hansen Keenan
Pretty bang on I would think, except Stockdale, I would think Calvin Nash is first choice, Stockdale will get game time in other tests i would imagine, but against the ABs, I doubt it. If Hansen went well in camp, he will start, Stockdale is really bad in defense, So either Nash or Hansen, both have x factor
You obviously haven't been following Irish club rugby. Stockdale is on absolute fire and is back to his 2018 best and Farrell always backs current form over reputation. Mach Hansen hasn't played any rugby (including club rugby) in ages so he'll definitely not start over him as we don't know where Hansen is at the moment after injury. He'll need time to slowly return to rugby and most of that will be at club level, but certainly not at such a big treat game. Farrell always starts big names coming back from long injuries on thr bench. But Stockdale has both the form and a lot of game time under his belt, unlike Hansen, and so he’s an obvious start over him
@@loughrey101 I have been following Irish club rugby as I am a Leinster man, Hansen has been playing since his world cup injury, certainly not with the confidence to get over the ball as he had but that will come, I already explained Stockdale is the third choice on the right wing and highly doubtful he will be in the 23 for the ABs. If Hansen does not start he will be on the bench and Nash to start and vice versa. Stockdale is bad in defense, that has not changed and Hansen and Nash do great work off and on the wing, which is natural to both of them. That is what Farrell wants in the wings. Lets see if I am wrong.
I have the same feeling I had last year before the RWC quarters, I even picked a similar scoreline. Watching some of the chat and comments from the Irish, it seems to be the same pre-match stuff as last year, but a little more cautious and not too much with the openly overt confidence and arrogance. They're playing their cards a lot closer to their chest this time. But, scratch the surface the arrogance is still there in spades. The ABs will win this game and I have a sneaky suspicion it will be by 20+. Traditionally they normally have their best performance for the second or third game of the autumn tour. The ABs are due to click and I think this will be the game where most things will go right for them. They're still the only team in the world that can win games with less possession, less time in opposition half, more penalties, handing errors, etc. The pace of the game will be a major factor for Irish. The only way Ireland wins this game, the ABs get yellow or red carded out of the game. However, two things, there's no Barnes to help out and the yellows only kept the game close and had no real effect on the final outcome. ABs looked like they could have defended for another 37 tackles if called upon.
Sorry lads, but I see no real difference from this Irish teams pre-game demeanor, than from last year. They've just wounded it back a little because of last year's embarrassment. There were people saying the same thing you lot are saying now. Ireland aren't overlooking the ABs, we're not looking past the quarters, etc. And yet, the rugby world was flooded with news articles about how Ireland were going to dismantle the weak and worthless ABs, Cane can't ruck, Williams and Kearney carrying on like excited little school girls at the thought of the War Dog putting it on, the Shit Richie McCaw😂. Countless of Irish supporters piling out of the stadium after their team beat the Springboks in their pool match, trashing the ABs and gobbing off as if it was their God given right to be crowned RWC Champions weeks before the conclusion. The ABs were a mere formality. The Irish team and their supporters and journos may not be as overtly as they were last year, but there are some carrying on in a similar vein. But hey, I can't be blamed for how I'm processing things. Change the behavior and I might change my opinion. But we all know that's not going to happen. Sexton, O'Mahony, Porter, optimises everything about Irish rugby. Just angry, spiteful, cowardly individuals. Oh well, good luck on Friday and may the best team win.

Ryan and McCarthy with Beirne moving to 6 Ringrose in centre not even a discussion there and Nash on wing with Hansen on bench but that’s 50/50 POM is injured so won’t make squad
Yeah ok💪. That extra lineout option for IRE will haunt the ABs😳
@@KickOnRugby news update on Furlong he picked up an injury so it looks like he's out so FB to tight and Porter with Kelleher in the front row
@ ooo that’s some news
@@KickOnRugby all part of the game unfortunately the AB's have their issues too I guess it's very rare in the modern game that any team gets to pick the full 15 but we just get on with it
@ absolutely!
Would have Joe Mc Carthy in there instead of James Ryan, Izzy isuchuku is really playing great, Prendergas too is a good move he's a monster ,Jamie Osborne should be in there too ,Ireland have major players at No 10,Crowley, Fawley and young Prendergas, options on the wings too Nash, it's a settled team Stockdale not sure,McClosky arè options.....Conor Murray is Bok killer and shines against the All Blacks too he starts on the bench
Yeah that seems the common change bringing McCarthy in💪. So much depth in the squad atm
Like your stockdale pick. He deserves a crack but unlikely.
Hope he does. Who you think will go above him?
Porter, Kelleher, Furlong.
Ryan, McCarthy
Beirne, Van Der Flier, Doris.
Gibson-Park, Crowley, Lowe, Aki, Ringrose, Hansen, Keenan
Bench: Healy, '?', Bealham, Henderson, Baird, Murray, Frawley, Osborne.
Love the contact man
Very strong side. Unfortunate for Furlong but still a red hot team. Going to be a cracking game💪. Cheers mate
Furlong out - Hansen instead of stockdale
🤝🤝
Furlong ruled out. Bealham will start. I think Ryan and McCarthy will be in the second row with Beirne at 6 and he will sort sititi out. It’ll be Aki and ringrose in the centre. Stockdale could start, he’s been brilliant this season to date but I think Farrell will stick with Hansen and Lowe with Keenan at FB. O’mahony will miss out and Ryan Baird will take his place in the bench. Also with furlong out Tom o’toole will come in.
Porter
Kelleher
Bealham
McCarty
Ryan
Beirne

Doris

Crowley
Lowe
Aki
Ringrose
Hansen
Keenan
Nice one. I see O’Mahoney is on the bench. That experience will be vital at the back end of the game
@ all he offers now though is some experience. He’s not gonna offer much more off the bench
Therers no way Cian will make it before Baird.
But Stockdale has both the form and a lot of game time under his belt, unlike Hansen, and so he’s an obvious start over him
Stockdale been in sensational form for Ulster. Just thought they might pick guys on current form🤝
@@loughrey101 Seems like I have been following Irish club rugby, Where is Stockdale, as I said, no chance was he ever playing against the ABs
Ireland does have depth with one exception, tighthead. This has been a weakness for a long time now.
I’m not so clued up on the dark arts upfront. But i’m sure there’s a few tightheads in the pipeline💪
Gee....All Blacks, don't even bother turning up.
Ye said that last year
You should play I think.
He did a similar piece on NZ. He's a positive guy. A breath of fresh air from the nz and saffa comments below
What makes you say that?
Everyone keeps on underestimating the All Blacks... But I'm glad they do...😅
I have the same feeling I had last year before the RWC quarters, I even picked a similar scoreline.
😅😅😅😅😅 seriously that's absolutely ridiculous
Absolutely rubbish who in the Irish team setup are talking it up arrogantly
I like it!
Thats the spirit, make no mistake, this is an out and out grudge rematch, Abs for the win.
