SO many close ones for Bed. That was great when he realized he actually had the better projectile.

He was a good Bedman. You just can't really do much with the pressure Asuka has.

This match-up aside, Bedman feels like such a tough character to fight. He's one of my biggest struggles out of the cast. 😂

Is it just me or is Asuka by far the most boring character to watch? I mean, I never see any kind of strategy or innovative mixups from this character. Maybe he's difficult if you play him and have to manage his spells but watching him just seems so stupid.

Very difficult to play, which is why I don't find it so boring to watch because not just anyone can do stuff like this consistently. Also, it's cool to see how other people counter him.

As the other guy said, this one asuka is one of the phew that are actually able to use the character efficiently. You also have to consider how every spell is random, sure you can brute force the spells to get the one you want but being able to rapidly adjust to the spells given while corner pressure is definitely something relatively impressive.

I think if his other two test cases were just as viable then that would lead to more variety with how asuka can play and will therefore be more interesting to watch.

@Dragoonking17: If you don't play the character, then I can definitely see how people can assume everything looks the same - there is clearly way more than that going on, but I'm trying to keep my response short, so I'll stop there.
Regarding Zando's Asuka: Zando is a very strong player, perhaps top 10-20 in the world for this game. However, they are not one of the strongest Asuka players I've seen, and I can name like 5 Asia Asuka players who are better than him on the character - I think it mainly stems from the fact that other strong Asuka have developed their own strategies, combos, and mixups, while Zando's playstyle appears to be a weaker version of Gobou's, that lacks the strategy, conversions, speed/APM, among other things. Moreover, Zando also appears to use the same mixups over and over in a set, while other high-level Asuka players try to change it up. I understand that Zando made it to top 8 at Arc World tour, but it came down to the set vs. Tempest, and if you're not aware, Tempest and Zando actually played sets with each other before AWT; so Zando came into AWT already knowing Tempest's latest playstyle, while Gobou had to try to adjust on the fly (he played Tempest like 6 month prior to AWT, but nobody will remember those sets, not even Gobou probably), and that ultimately led to Zando getting one game more than Gobou and ultimately allowed them to make top 8, despite the fact that Zando's Asuka is not on Gobou's level - you can clearly see the difference in character expertise (not player skill, that's different) in game 5 at AWT; Gobou finally warmed up and Zando did not win a single round - had Gobou been playing that well from the beginning and not so nervous, then I have no doubt that the set would have been a 3-0 - Gobou.
So yes, if your playstyle is nothing but a watered-down version of another strong player, then of course, it will look boring if you're comparing them to that particular player. It's said that you don't really learn anything if you just copy somebody else, and although Zando has had some success with Asuka, watching AWT is what made me understand that it was more of player expertise and fantastic defense (the commentators kept bringing this up in the Japanese ASW stream), than character skill. The same could also be said with PepperySplash's Asuka - their Johnny was the real star, and the only reason they made top 8 at the event.
