For people whom this method isn't working :
Right click the layer that has been double expanded, and there will be an option expand track layer. Unclick, it BOOM! Or press E and maybe that'll help :) For me the video method wasnt working, so I found another one :) Peace

It didn't work. Double clicking enters the expanded mode but exiting it still keeps the A and B tracks and they won't go away.

That intro understands me. I guess it's my mouse that's glitchy...because A/B timeline has been happening non-stop even when I didn't double click, but the button has been kinda sticky. I've been having to select all, delete all, undo to get out of it which I hate doing because you risk crashing...

Is there a way to *permanently* disable the Expanded Edit Mode from ever popping up again?
It really messes with my workflow. I often misclick & then have to wait 10 seconds while my PC freezes while desperately trying to make A/B track only for it to be closed immediately after. :/
