One of the most messed up things about their story is that when Lynette was bought by that creep who wanted to do "unspeakable things" to her, she was likely only 5-7 years old. They're currently still living at the House of the Hearth orphanage and are often referred to as kids by other characters, so they're most likely under 18 currently. We know from Lyney's personal story that they apprenticed wth Cesar 10 years ago, at which time they were already members of the House of the Hearth. They didn't join the House until after the creepy noble bought Lynette, so they were at most 7 when that happened (if the events with Cesar occurred immediately after) but possibly even younger.
I think that Lynely speak about taking over Arlecchinos place because he think she is human, with a normal human life span. However, as we know with the Harbingers... Thats something we cannot be sure off. Most of them are inhuman in some way, or with unnatural life spans. So far the only one confirmed to be somewhat normal is Childe. So I do not believe that Lynely will need to take over. And even if Arle do have a normal life span.... The harbingers future is on the countdown now that the Traveler is on the loose. We are headed fore some big events and we do not know what the future will bring. I hope that whatever happen, if Lynely do take over, its is his own free will to do so, and the orphanage will be free from the clutches of the fatui.
