I enjoy hearing the PNG operators say "Apinun" and the Australian's "G'day". But I really love it when Goroka tower says "(Apinun) Ryan". Coming home safe, nothing better.
Please don't quit Ryan - I love the current format. I don't fly any more but learned in Singapore in the 70's. Used to fly to short dirt strips in Malaysia in a 172. This takes me back to those exciting times. Admire your professionalism and safety awareness. Keep up the good work 😃

No kangaroos in Austria, I say that all the time since I am in Austria every summer. I am in Austria to motorcycle the Alps as the roads in Canada are too straight and too flat. Been on over 240 different passes there.

Merry Christmas. I had a friend who grew up there as the child of some missionaries back in the 70s. She always used to tell me how beautiful PNG was and she wasn’t kidding was she? It’s seems a very beautiful country. I’m happy to hear that you love doing good works there. 30+ years ago, did a similar run - just out of High School, was only Pax on Company Swearingen Merlin - Cairns to Aropa (even less Traffic than POM) - Pilot puts me in RH seat. Get to Cruise altitude, sets autopilot, then tells me "That is our call sign - if you hear it, wake me...", and promptly leans against side of cockpit, and puts newspaper over his face to block the glare, and I presume, naps for 30 minutes. Heart was racing and eyes were everywhere...

What a shame that no one will restore it.
All that paperwork for Australia and PNG such as the General Declaration should be done online now in the 21t century. Crazy to have to have pieces of paper for this when the technology is there to do it all online.

The best thing about cairns is the Great Barrier Reef and scuba diving.
The crocodiles in NSW are interesting but indeed dangerous as there is no swimming in creek’s that look so enticing.
And also it’s a short drive to surfers paradise.
Fun, curious to hear an American accent pronounce Cairns like an Aussie, Cans ha ha! I had the good fortune to visit there. Quiet tropical beach town with great radio. Loved it.

Flying the track you take to, and from, CNS tracks you over an extraordinary part of the GBR. That is a favourite part of flying to Cairns. Plus, if you’re home sick, Cairns domestic terminal has one of the few Burger Kings found in Oz - normally DownUnder they trade under Hungry Jacks!
problem is with covid restrictions he not allowed into terminals, afik he has to remain on the tarmac near the aircraft. Not even sure he would be even be allowed to a have to delivered to him, plus thing that burger king was taken over by HJ's when burger king lost the court case
It makes sense being Burger King uses kangaroo meat in their burgers!!

Someone may have called this out at the end of the video:
PNG Tower control actually cleared you to land on a runway that clearly another plane was sitting on the threshold of the same runway??? You would not see that happen in the states.
Technically he wasn’t on the threshold as the displaced threshold was just before where Ryan touched down. But it didn’t need to be where it was on the extended centreline… 🤔😬👀

@MissionaryBushPilot I lived and worked In PNG in 1997. I was based at Rabaul. Flew islanders C402 and C404. Last and Madang only ports on mainland I flew. Great fun. Enjoy your videos. Brings back memories
