Definitely one of the best photographers you have featured. No philosophical BS, just a young woman with a camera and a pink hairdryer flash making excellent work.
@@tomatoisred6966 yeah sure! So when we have really cluttered compositions with a lot going on in them like a lot of people or objects filling the frame it becomes much harder to organize them in a way that is pleasant to look at. Poupay is excellent at taking very cluttered scenes and making them appear organized and intentional!
@@EZweb2004 It isn't the first time I heard a photo called intentional. Thanks for explaining. And yeah! Her work looks amazing or compositions. I walk around without my camera a lot, and I'm training my eye. Sometimes, I see something amazing in the way light interacts with things... This changed my life in so many ways. It helps a lot with keeping my busy mind quiet. I've been sober for three months. I'm still a little shy to go in public with my camera... but I'll get there. Anyway, thanks again.
@@EZweb2004 Yeah. I do. I photographed cannabis with a basic DSLR when I first started to teach myself. I lost that camera, and the posts are quite old... I got a new mirrorless a few months ago and have been collecting some primes. @grap_gras
This was great. I love that she doesn't give a f***. So many other people in this series say 'I'd rather go black and white before I go digital' and she's just blasting away digital getting great shots
honestly, going film is nothing else than being a hipster. all that really matters is shooting, and going film only limits you in a time and age where it's unnecessary and has most likely prevented many great images from being taken. because the photographer ran out of film, or his film camera couldn't adjust to new settings quick enough. which you can so easily do via memory recall (for instance). a camera should be a tool, and you wouldn't use a broom if you had a vacuum. so use digital. :D
i love how this whole series is formatted , its so visually stimulating. The mix of raw podcast like approach mixed with actual photos matching the moment of the conversation. Adding the photos taken during the episode is just so pleasing to see. Thank you for all the work you put into this, it truly is one of a kind.
Holy cow! This woman is amazing. Thanks for featuring her. Not only is her photography DOPE AF, she has an incredible eye and she's clearly successful at what she does. Dare I say, this particular photographer and episode is my favorite that you've ever featured.
Probably my fav episode. I love her attitude, framing, and eye. But more than that, she is doing incredible work. I mean, that is not easy going around with a massive flash. The pro work she's producing is phenomenal. Huge respect to Poupay.
I'm Thai and I've been watching your videos for a while, didn't expected to see a Thai woman doing a street photography in NYC. It is already uncommon enough to be a photography in Thailand and make a living out of it, but she managed to be there and her photo is fire!! This really inspire me to push myself to be there as well. Keep it up Poupay, much love from Thailand :)
Wow! Absolutely my favourite in this series. So unpretentious and light-hearted. And also the best pictures. She really has the eye. This was a very nice surprise.
Best photographer from the ones I have seen so far on the channel. Love how she hunts down the subjects and doesn't stop until she gets what is to be taken. Congratulations on the video format and concept - it is truly entertaining and immersive.
Another great Walkie Talkie episode. What a cutie, she has such a great eye for weird stuff and her framing is excellent. Way to go Poupay and keep up the good stuff. Thanks for sharing Paulie, quality all over , like always.
I just wanna hang out with her - Poupay is so chill and cool and funny and talented! Thanks for spotlighting and making space for female photographers, Paulie! ❤🎉🙏🏼 Love your channel!
Paulie, your questions were so specific and so helpful. Like the one about rebuilding the career from scratch and the one about what is a pitch (a series vs a deck). Really specific, really helpful. Thank you!
I love this style of hard flash photography ! I love that people think her flash is a hairdryer!!!!! Great camouflage or conversation piece!!!! Great episode!!!!!!
“Ahh, there’s so many sh$t happening… Yes, I love this!” Another great episode, Paulie! Been following Poupay for a while and was curious if she’d make it onto the channel or not. Emily and now Poupay’s episodes are some of my favorites because it’s nice to see how they experience and practice street photography as well as how their styles and inclinations differ from the boys.
Wow I love Poupay’s style!! She really has her process on the streets dialled. I found the conversation really interesting as someone who’s looking to get into photojournalism.
I really resonate with being fearful at night/ in some places as a female photographer on the streets. A lot of the advice out there is “get over your fear’ but when the fear is because there is real danger it’s more than just a willpower obstacle. It was refreshing to finally hear someone say it. ❤
She has a great eye and so many good tips! I also like how real she is - no flowery words, just straight to the point and no bullshit. Great video in the series!
One of my favourite episodes so far! Poupay is an incredible photographer and I admire how she can bring some sort of order into the clutter of situations. She also seems so adorable and easy to talk to!
my favorite episode!! She has such a fun energy and I like how much she follows her curiosity. A lot of what she said resonated with me and also learned a lot too
Thanks for doing this interview. It was great to see a Female Street Photographer. I love how the photographers you interview have self doubt but go forth anyways. Poupay talks about 'what do you want to say' and that's a good thing to keep in mind when you are out taking photos. Thanks for the inspiration!
She's just the best. So great to listen to and watch. More like this please. And yeah, nice to see someone shoot with something other than Leica/Analog.
Poupay is amazing! What an awesome artist. I love her attitude, humbleness, and motivation. So funny that you two are walking and talking your way down the street and she's appears to just be clicking a few here and there along the way during the convo then we see the stills and Dang! That's an awesome capture, it's totally a keeper! I love it. Great episode, thanks Paulie!
love seeing female photographers and her advice on getting published was well needed. Also, Love her pink flash ❤ Nice Job Paulie.. cant wait till i get an episode lol... Big Dreams.. We need Kazu NEXT!! tho
Thank you for running more non male street photogs - i've been really wanting to see perspectives from different types of people in the street world and it's super hard to find on youtube (but things are changing!)
Great photos and love Poupay’s positive outlook and scrappy work ethic. It’s really hard to make a living with photography these days so it’s really impressive that she photographs these cool events for a living. Makes me want to try getting some gigs doing event photography. And that pink flash - iconic!
My university tutor in my photography course here in Aus watches your videos! Tried suggesting your vids to him and turns out he was already a fan... Keep up the good work, great interviews
the happiest photographer i've ever seen.and this flash is dope
I love the Leica gang, but this was a nice change of pace and one of my favorite episodes so far. Thanks for featuring her, she's awesome!
Definitely one of the best photographers you have featured. No philosophical BS, just a young woman with a camera and a pink hairdryer flash making excellent work.
her photos are insane! how she handles clutter in images and makes it look intentional is awesome!

She is so nice! Also I like the episodes with digital photographers because there are so many photos in the video.

Great at many levels! Not a film, Leica but some regular camera with zoom and .... Strobe!

Paulie, your questions were so specific and so helpful. Like the one about rebuilding the career from scratch and the one about what is a pitch (a series vs a deck). Really specific, really helpful. Thank you!
I love how she’s still shooting at f8 but that flash work is giving these photos a shallower depth of field look through the lighting. She’s great.
Another great one! "Where do I put my hands?" "I DUNNO JUST DO IT". 🤣
