      Cole Adams I have a problem for paying college players as this will unintentionally hurt Army, Navy and Air-forces football programs due to rules that the schools have. This is after it being difficult to recruit to these schools in the first place just my two cents feel free to disagree.

    Hey Cole Adams, you said that you were looking to research the topic of college hockey and its recent rapid rise of the talent pool and sending more players to the NHL. As well as more big time teams looking at the possibility of adding teams.
    For example, at the #ACHA level (Non NCAA Hockey). We had a recent crowd at the Winter Classic in Dallas,, we had the Univ. Of Texas & Texas A&M Club Teams at the ACHA Division 2 Level recently draw a little over 5,000 fans. This could make a statement for college hockey growth in Texas.
    Another big reason for this is the growing number of strong international players playing in the NCAA. For example, at the recent World Junior Hockey Championship, we had NCAA Players playing for 🇫🇮, 🇨🇦 and 🇨🇭. 🇸🇪 and 🇸🇰 also had committed players to NCAA Teams in the tournament. Other countries like 🇫🇷 have had current players and/or commitments also play in the WJC Qualifiers.

It'll pull those top guys away from the top teams because they'll want to be able to profit more.

    Granted Im' European, maybe I don't know that much about your kind of football. However I enjoy collage football much more than the NFL, for me it is just much more entertaining as a viewer. I think a factor is the skill level of the players. They aren't as skilled the NFL players but they are still good enough to play entertaining and exciting football. They make huge plays, bust a defensive coverage that allows a 60 yard TD pass and stuff like that, it ain't the best quality, but it's entertaining as hell. The season opener between Florida and Miami is the perfect example of this, terrible football, entertaining as fuck to watch.
    The thing I find the most stupid in general are they players. Take for instance a 5 star QB, most likely he is going to commit to Bama, Clemson, OSU or one of the biggest schools, which all still have maybe 3 other 5 star QB's on the roster. I get it that they wanna play for the best teams and say they "aren't afraid of competition", but in reality, why not just go to a team like Baylor, Minnesota, UFC or one of those teams? They are still really good and guaranteed not to have as talented QB's, why not go where you can be the number 1 guy from day 1? Players need to swallow their pride and go where they will play, as a young player in any sport, you won't get better if you don't play.
    Look at Burrow, didn't play at OSU, went to LSU. Had one year as a full starter to become better, and look at him now.

    I definitely agree with your love and hate of college football. Even though I'm an LSU fan on top of the mountain right now, I do realize that I better enjoy it while I can. With Alabama and Clemson owning the recruiting rankings yet again, they will be in prime position to play for another title. Ultimately, If there isn't more parity in recruiting, then the results at the end of the season will remain the same.
    What happened with LSU this year is truly a rarity these days in college football. I just hope there will be more teams like LSU that come from outside of the preseason top 5 or beyond to "actually" challenge these perennial contenders. As much as these teams are dominant and deserve to be there, it really is boring to see the same 3 teams fight it out with the 4 seed as cannon fodder.
    It really starts at the line of scrimmage. OSU, Bama and Clemson continue to recruit and develop top talent on both sides of the line. As a result, they usually physically dominate the teams on their schedule. Oklahoma has great skill position players but lack dominant line-play. The results speak for themselves. Clemson lost arguably the best defensive line in many years to graduation and the draft. If that line played played LSU in the game, the result may have been much different.
    And having to tier QB's don't hurt either. 😁

    Expanding the playoffs isn’t about “This team should be in because we think they will win” it’s about “These extra teams should be in because they deserve a CHANCE to win. They won the same amount of games and won their conference. Why leave who should get in so much up to human opinion?”

    Another reason I can’t get into watching college football is because every week 90% of the games every week are blowouts. And out that last 10% you’ll be lucky if one of those games is going to include a game with a team looking to contend for a title. Which as he stated is basically Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State, and a couple others.

    It's all about recruiting. If you are a top 5 recruiting class, good coaching will make you a top 5 team, bad coaching will still land you in the top 25. It's a truth that took a long time for me to come to grips with. I might like a team, but if recruiting is poor, they aren't a contender.

    I’m a Clemson fan, I go to Clemson and have lived in South Carolina pretty much my whole life. Even though there was that heartbreaker for us on Monday, I do agree with you. College football is so much fun to watch bc it’s so volatile, and everything means everything, every little mistake costs big, because there are so many teams. But even with all these teams it is always us, Ohio state, Alabama and that’s about it. However, I would like to point out something about Clemson. Clemson’s culture is what draws people to us. We never used to be as good as we are now, Dabo built this team from pretty much the ground up. When Justyn Ross was asked why he was choosing Clemson he said it was because it felt like a family. We are hard working but we also have a program to nurture. Take our back up quarter back for example, Chase Brice. He’s likely transferring, and the whole of Clemson is behind him, we want him to succeed, he wasn’t going to get the recognition he deserved here. We want chase Brice to do well, and I promise wherever he goes everyone here is rooting for him. Now I don’t live in Alabama, so I don’t know firsthand but from what I’d heard from Alabama fans, when tua got hurt everyone thought the season was over, they were done for. Here at Clemson if Trevor got hurt everyone would put their faith in Brice, there wouldn’t be any “I hope he does ok” we would back Brice 100%. That’s why Clemson has the best recruiting class, that’s why were contenders year after year, because Dabo built a program meant to nurture, not compete.

    Why I hate college Football
    1. The drive towards two giant conferences has gutted traditions and rivalries and mad frankenstein divisions that make no sense.
    2. Media, money, and all it's corruption
    3. The whole frigging thing is rigged for the SEC
    4. So many big teams get BS wins by paying crap teams to lose to them to pad their stats. this is why I don't respect the SEC, especially Alabama
    5. The "Playoffs" and Bowls are a joke because it's a group of SEC bought coaches going, give it all to the SEC again and again.

    Totally agree about the parity. As a kid (think late 90s), it felt like the # 25 ranked team could easily beat # 1 and anyone else could beat anyone.
    Now it feels like #10 cant even compete with the playoff teams.
    I liked it when it felt like good coaching and playing hard was the biggest factor in determining the winner. Now its usually who has a better recruiting class.
    Thats not exciting.it makes playing the games pointless and anticlimatic.

  • @ontheroadtonatchamp
    @ontheroadtonatchamp 4 года назад

    The best part about college football is how meaningful the regular season is. No other sport can say that every single game you play matters. Expanding the playoff would only devalue that aspect. Georgia at number 5 had absolutely zero business getting a shot at the title, but if it was 6 or 8 teams, there’s no way they miss out. Essentially it gives a pass for teams to not get off the bus on Saturday morning and lose to South Carolina at home, or “it’s ok you lost to LSU by 30, have another go at it”. (picking on Georgia here, I know) Because of the parity in the sport, or lack thereof, there only ends up being 2, 3 or max 4 teams worthy of a championship, and we can’t have playoff spots being handed out to teams who truly didn’t earn it on the field.

I’m not a patriots fan and was happy to see them fall, but it just feels like they weren’t putting out much effort. It feels like almost no teams are putting in as much effort as the college teams. In college ball theres so much desperation to make it to the league. When they get there, it feels like they almost“retire” after making it.

    Honestly I hate college football because in the nfl you get more invested because players stay there a bit more longer. That and also I want to watch the best of the best playing against each other. College football feels like it’s just good players getting a slap in the face going up against possible nfl top tier talent and offensive coordinators. It feels like there is no such thing as defense and running game. I grew up watching the NFL and watching college just feels like a downgrade in my opinion.

    I always thought to would be good for the FBS to institute a sort of “salary cap”. Limit how many scholarships are available to certain ranked players out of high school. Like every school gets 5 scholarships for 5 star high school athletes, 20 for 4 star, 50 for 3 star and so on. It would make it a lot more interesting to see potential super stars spread out.

  • @daveatkins3796

    I would like to also add this element to the argument: team schedules. A lot of the top teams are bolstering their numbers by playing a mostly cupcake schedule. Why does Alabama have to play Mercer in the middle of the season? Ok, the 1st or 2nd week can be somewhat of the preseason to face a lot weaker teams, but in the middle of the season? This is where they need to have more inter conference games to see how good some of these teams really are. This can help settle some of the arguments come CFP time. I don’t think expanding the CFP will solve much of anything other than the NCAA’s incessant need for pools of money. They’re still gonna have the big players in and keep a lot of the teams that might deserve a chance out. It’s a rigged system in where only the big names will be there.

    I understand the reasoning behind the 8 team playoff, it eliminates the possibly of missing a team that should be in the running, but the overall quality of the games will just go down. We have yet to have a college football playoff where all there games were competitive, and expanding the playoffs to 8 teams would just make that worse.

  • @ChosenPlaysYT
    @ChosenPlaysYT 4 года назад

    The lame thing about college football is 90% of your success is your location. As a Nebraska fan, we simply can’t compete because we have 1 kid a year in our state who can play. It’s an unfair game in recruiting which is what determines your success. I’m gravitating more towards the NFL because it’s based on how you run your organization rather than your location.
