Haha! This is great! I started making a google doc with all my comments because I was so sick of retyping them. This will save even more time and I love the extras like bold and emojis too! Thank you so much!
This is really great, thanks. One observation- my comments also start to autofill if I type a key word or phrase from the saved comment into the comment window. So a saved comment I have says, "Do not put a space between the quotation mark and the quoted words."If I just type "space" in the comment window, all of my saved comments with the word "space" all pop up. Really cool feature if you have dozens of saved comments like I do. Questions: will my Comments Bank carry over to next academic year? Are they attached to my Classroom account or to the course? Can we make comment text italicized? It would be useful for my ELD kids to see examples of the text that I want them to have in the comment, and I often have to comment on formating. Thanks again, very helpful video.
Great video. Is there a way to disable/hide previously used comments in your comment bank? Some comments might be very assignment specific and I don't want to see them when marking completely different assignments because the comment bank becomes cluttered. Without this feature the comment bank is only good for generic comments.
Thank you. Given there are two types of comments, assignment and private, when does the student see either type? I worry that when I hit Comment , it immediately goes to them. Thanks for your help...
My students turn their papers in to Moodle in docx and PDF format. If I begin using Google classroom and want to grade using the comment bank, do students have to submit their papers in via Google Docs? I can open a docx paper in Google Docs, but I've tried a docx submission in Google Classroom and I could not use the comment bank.
If the students send a picture, I have been able to copy and paste the comments from the comment bank but I could not using the #. Am I missing any step? Thanks Also, do you know any way to print all those comments to have them in one file so I can use as reference when writing report cards? Thank you
Love how we can insert an emoji inside the comment box for student feedback. Do you know how to insert a sticker or student badge or bitmoji in the comment box? That would be so great to do so!
this is exactly what I'm using but atm, I'm getting work from my students that won't allow me to use this tool. When studens send me their work in word documents I cannot figure out how to convert them to be able to correct them and use comments. Could you help me? thanks!
Eva Wilhelm Can you have your students submit Google Docs instead? If you’re using Google Classroom, there’s really no reason for anyone to be using Word at this point. 😆
holy cow! I never knew about the hashtag bringing up the comment bank! It took longer to copy/paste than to type it out repeatedly. THANK YOU!!

So helpful! I don't know how many times I wrote the same comment. Thanks for this tutorial!
I knew there had to be a way to store several comments! Wish I had known this two months ago. Thanks so much! You did a great job!
Glad it was helpful!
This is so helpful and will save so much time! Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks for the clear explanation!!
Thank you! I didn't know that I could bold text.
You're a great teacher. 😁
Happy to help!
Dang! I wish I would have found you two years ago. I’ve been re-typing the same comments....
Loved this tutorial! From teacher in NM!
Thanks for the tip for how to bold text- I've wished for that for years in Google Classroom!
Right? It's so helpful!
Thank you. Clear and concise.
Great tips! Thank you.

You can also add emojis on a mac (and maybe a PC) by using ctrl+command+spacebar for emoji options to pop up, if you don't want to add an extension 😊
Awesome, good to know!
Great!!
Thank you!

Not currently, but you can submit that feedback to Google! They are very responsive to new ideas.
Is there a way to organize comments into subject area? Is there a way to share comment banks with collogues?
Is there a comment bank to use in google slides? All I see is it for docs but I do more assignments in slides.
Yes, the comment bank is available in Slides too. :)
Could you maybe do a video on how to send grades from Google Classroom to digital gradebooks (if that's possible)?
Thank you. Given there are two types of comments, assignment and private, when does the student see either type? I worry that when I hit Comment , it immediately goes to them. Thanks for your help...
Private comments are sent immediately; however, comments within the Doc will only be visible once you officially "Return" the assignment to students.
@@helloteacherlady Perfect. Thanks for this really helpful guidance.
This is the bomb dot com!!! Thank you for sharing!

Is there a way to share my comment bank with a new teacher?
Is it possible for students to react to a video posted by using emojis

Unfortunately, that is not currently possible.

Good
How did you insert the grade on the right side of the document?
When creating an assignment, you can give it a point value. That grade option will then appear on the side like you see here.
Is this clip still available?
