20:08. How many sahih ahadeeth does Fatoohi have to throw out by saying Esa عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ will not come back ??? 🤦🏻♂️. Had to stop watching at that point. Pretty much blasphemous. I mean some of the ahadeeth on the topic are mutawatir. Very disappointing
I’m happy to see this because people are always referring to people on this topic who know nothing about the topic. This is very educational and educational videos are rare in these days. Thank everyone for their efforts and contributions to this video.
Very true. A lot on non-experts in history, especially, speak on the crucifixion. This is common across the board in both religions. We definitely need more historical experts on such topics, no matter which religion it seems to go against. It opens up the intellectual discussions for our future generations, as well.
Mashalla Paul, you are doing gods work .. you are doing a unique job of connecting scholars , researchers with layman like us … learned so much from this video
It was long and very detailed but was worth the effort. Thank you, Paul and Dr. Louay for the knowledge you imparted. May Allah reward you both in this world and the hereafter. Aamiin.
Wow! This is very powerful and eye opening. The way Louay explains his views is inspiring. Just yesterday I was thinking that probably we should not make a fuss about crossifiction, when talking to Christians, as I thought we should be focussing on the claims of divinity of Jesus, peace be upon him. Now specially after seeing the final slide, I am actually speechless! Huge thanks Paul ❣️
@Faisal Siraj Inasmuch as many have undertaken to compile a narrative of the things which have been accomplished among us, just as they were delivered to us by those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word... (Luke 1:1-3) St. Paul's epistles were written even earlier. His first letter to the Corinthians, written around A.D. 55, contains an early Christian creed that begins: For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the scriptures (1 Cor. 15:3-7). Scholars date this creed, which represents an early oral tradition of the Christian Church, to within six years after Christ's death. Some have argued that it may have been written months after Christ's death and resurrection. The above creeds shows that what Paul is preached is what he has received which proves that what he’s preaching is already what the apostles was testifying before he became one of them. It still goes: 1 cor.15:5-6 and that he appeared to Cephas,[b] and then to the Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, “most of whom are still living” , though some have fallen asleep. The verse vividly states that even though Paul only met the risen Jesus he also encountered living witness who knew Jesus before He was crucified. It’s really delusional seeing all these evidences and yet believing that a book that came 600 yrs after the actual event knows better. The idea of Jesus escaping crucifixion developed from the 2nd centuries agnostic texts and we see the Quran copying some info from this agnostic traditions, like the infancy gospels etc. I challenge you to provide me single source from the 1st CE that mentioned Jesus wasn’t crucified or support Islamic narratives about Jesus.
@Faisal Siraj I have a question for you, How do you Muslim think? Is this how blind you’re or are you doing this just to save the Quran but in your heart you know it’s wrong? I’m asking because I can’t believe a sane human will believe or make up this conspiracy theory(crap) you sent above because it’s such a weak and pointless conjecture. I hate speculations, You claim the writer of the gospel of mark which’s supposedly the first gospel manipulated the text to insert Jesus was crucified instead of Simon of Cyrene Lol But I showed you an earlier Christian creed that existed even before the gospels were written lol. I pointed out to you also in the gospel of luke that narrated how the informations written in the gospels are informations gathered from people who are eyes witnesses. This alone render your conspiracy theories useless. And as for your claims about the book of mark it’s an opinion formed out of ignorance and delusion. There’s no New Testament Scholar who will agree with such nonsense, So I’m asking you, From which reputable New Testament scholar did you get that crap from or is it one of these Islamic scholars who has been cherry picking Bible verses and reading pseudo into the Bible to validate their Quran? There’re tons of non biblical sources that mentioned about the crucifixion. Most of are from the first century and earlier second second centuries. Stop appealing to conspiracy theories because you know you’ve no basic evidence for your claim. I challenge you again, provide me an evidence of a written source or oral tradition from the first century that supports Islamic narrative about Jesus. If not you’re just another delusional guy who ambition is to defend the Quran even if he knows it’s wrong. What was written on Jesus cross was INRI a Latin word which means Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum(Jesus Of Nazareth king of Jews) it’s a word of mockery and the four gospels attested that. So your opinion doesn’t matter. You make a false claim that it was supposed to be Simon of Cyrene who got crucified not Jesus, For this sake of argument even if we go with your claims it’s still detrimental to the fundamental belief of Islam, which states a person can’t die for another person’s offense. Secondly it would mean allah literally deceived the 1stCE Jesus followers and His disciples into believing Jesus was crucified while he wasn’t then came back 600 yrs later to correct this mistake lol does that make sense to you? According to you allah literally started the world biggest false religion(Christianity) I hate to argue with people who lack critical thinking skills, If you’re gonna believe this crap for the sake of book rather than a living evidence that can be validate through history then it’s up to you. I’m done with you. Yea
@Faisal Siraj The book of psalm you appeal to has nothing to do with Jesus. It’s another misuse of the scriptures just like you guys misuses Bible verses and claim they’re talking about Muhammad. Matthew 26:39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” Jesus didn’t pray for God to save Him from the suffering(crucifixion) He asked God if it’s possible to let the cup(suffering) pass him but he goes on and say not as I wish but as you wish. Jesus literally ask Gods will to be done not his own will. And there’re many occasions Jesus predicted His death. So when next time you’re reading the scriptures read it for what it says and not what you want it to be.
People should know that this is not a platform to scratch your back, rather it is a platform for people to learn from varying views of scholarships non matter their background. Take what you think is beneficial to you and leave what you think is not in line with your believe. It would be nice to have him again.
Thank you for sharing your view. Too many Muslims do not realise that ijtihad (personal reasoning), which naturally leads to a plurality of opinions, has always been a foundation of Islamic sciences. Intolerance of opinions that one does not agree with is one result of this ignorance of how Islamic knowledge was developed by countless scholars over many centuries. Serious learning requires studying all views, including those one disagrees with, and understanding what they are based on. The main focus of genuine learning is one’s self, i.e. it is self-education. Educating others is a process of sharing one’s learning, which is why it should follow self-eduction. Reversing the order of these two, which is not uncommon on social media and many public polemics, is a clear sign of a lack of genuine interest in or understanding of learning. The person who focuses on others before himself/herself is engaged in something that has nothing to do with serious learning and education. Attempting to stop others from uttering opinions that one does not approve of is a clear sign of this misrepresented and misguided focus that has nothing to do with learning or education.
@@louay.fatoohi I could not agree more. Your presentation and research as well as the others featured onBlogging Theology are oases in the desert. BarakAllah fiqum.
This is one of the best presentations regarding this topic, well presented , well explained and has given me so much light. thumbs up Mr. Paul, you are wonderful......
Quite long but well worth it Paul. Many Muslims face a dilemma in the West as the Crucifixion is established as a fact. This video debunks that myth and supports the Quranic position that it is doubtful conjecture and not a historical fact. Thank you both.
@@das16thegoon not debunked just to prove that it is not Historical fact but just probablity. This means you can only guessing as per Quran narattion that you do not have a sure evidence but doubtfull and conjecture.
The crucifixion is established as historical fact by secular and non-secular historical scholars in the Western and non-Western world - the only time it is disputed, is by radical skeptics with ideological or religious incentives to do so.
@@Mohammed-nn3ts It is up to secular historians to rethink the fact that the crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth took place? If the Qur'an is the absolute truth - why does it falsely claim that semen originates between the backbone and the ribs? That the embryo is formed from semen? That humans are made from a clot of blood? These are all outdated claims made by Galen and the ancient Greeks - who although were revolutionary at the time, have since been dismissed as being false.
I tried to make it self-content, and that meant that it had to cover all relevant issues and sources. Viewers would then get a full picture from a standalone piece, on which they can consult other sources to further investigate, should they want to do so. This is why it ended up being this long.
@@louay.fatoohi Thank you dear doctor, while there are always issues conservative muslims will disagree with you on...we believe in the hadith that say Jesus is coming back...there is no doubt that you are an expert in this topic. A true role model in terms of how much we should aspire to research and study the topics we present. I am already blown away in the first 30 min. JazakAllaah khayr.
20:08 Thanks Paul for brought this important issue. My only complain is only the position of Dr. Luoay that he's rejecting mutawatir hadith about second coming of Jesus because it doesn't makes sense, rather it contradicts with his prior statement about miracle.
Exactly. That is terrible. Even his reasoning was absurd. He would be 2000 years old ????? Ummmm. Allah can raise him to the heavens alive. And is the creator of time itself. And he questions how Esa could be that old ??? I stopped watching at that point. Sad both Fatoohi and altie have different types of borderline blasphemy in their theories. 🤦🏻♂️.
@@abdallaalmidfa7345 It’s a huge issue because it involves the supposed scholar rejecting many sahih hadeeth and coming off like a hadeeth rejector. It goes against 99.9. % of Muslim scholars view and is heretical and blasphemous. Only the ignorant don’t care. Those with knowledge are aware and that is why many are commenting on it.
@@marcorolo4726 I had to stop watching after the weird comments he made. Especially the silly way he said it. Something like it doesn’t make sense because he’ll be too old 😅😂. What a silly comment. Like Allah isn’t capable of miracles. And what else doesn’t ‘make sense’ to this guy that he can just toss out 😂. He must not believe in ad dajall either. Jesus return and dajjal stories are connected. Can’t really believe in one without the other. Maybe he is a quranist lol
Thank you so much for your great work Paul! I just have one comment about what Dr Louay said. If Dr Louay was speaking on the Muslim belief in the beginning of the video regarding if Jesus was dead, I find it very misleading that he said “Yes (No).” The overwhelming majority of Muslims believe in his second coming, as the ahadith regarding his second coming are mutawatir (meaning that the Hadith was transmitted and narrated by so many people, that we cannot disregard the Hadith. And this is the highest form of authenticity for any Hadith by the way). Many scholars like Abu Hanifa and Imam Kawthari state that it is part of the Muslim faith to believe in Jesus’ second coming. So, if Dr Louay was speaking about the Muslim belief, he should have put “No” for if Jesus was dead or not, and should have disregarded his opinion. He could have told you that he disagrees with it, he has the right to hold his opinion, but he should not have put his opinion on behalf of Muslims in the PowerPoint.
Every soul tastes death . (Quran) Did Beloved Jesus son of Mary had a soul ? . Yes he did . So he did taste death . Quran is non contradictory , If you say he jesus did not die , then you are contradicting it . Quran is never contradictory . Our understanding and interpretation may be contradictory . There are no CONTRADICTIONS in Quran . Jesus did not die then at the cross , he was falsely proclaimed dead by the centurion , because the stormy conditions arouse within few hrs of the attempt at crucifixion . No one dies on cross in few hrs unless and until the legs are cut off . Then and only then death occurs within a few hours due to massive blood loss , HIS LEGS WERE NOT CUT OFF . We know for sure . The two others who were crucified along with him one to his right and the other to left their legs were cut off. Therefore since JESUS legs were not cut off , he was not dead He had just lost his consciousness and when laid in the chamber, from a vertical position on cross to a horizontal position in the chamber , his brain received proper circulation of blood , proper oxygenation . And he regained his consciousness and then left the chamber . He might have then moved away to another place and had a natural death and was thus raised .
May Allah reward you Omayr for clarifying and defending the rock solid stance of Ahlu'ssunna waljama'a in this regard. Not just mutawatir hadiths some of which agreed upon by Bukhari and Muslim, but also multiple Qura'anic verses. Therefore, Dr. Luaay's opinion on this particular matter parts with evidence based knowledge.
Thanks Brother .I was thinking to comment about it and I saw your comment. It was necessary to clarify. After your comment I am not going in detail.Allah bless you.
Thank you for watching the video and for your comment. A number of viewers have expressed their displeasure at my interpretation of the relevant Qur’anic verses that Jesus (BPUH) is already dead and won’t return. I fully understand and respect views that are different to mine, whether on this or other issues. But I disagree with positioning any view that differs from the majority opinion as a faith issue. I plan to write a detailed technical piece about this subject, discussing the ḥadīths and verses that are linked to the alleged return of Jesus (PBUH), as there is much confusion, misunderstanding, and unclear presumptions. In the meantime, I will respond briefly here, using this specific issue to raise broader and more fundamental points: 1) The process of ijtihad in Islam means applying one’s reasoning to develop their understanding of whatever they are studying. Ijtihad is not a rehashing of what is already out there. Ijtihad is a process that already builds on what already exists, even when and if it ultimate diverges from it. 2) Ijtihad is a human process that may lead to correct, inaccurate, or wrong conclusions. The learning process could also make a learner, regardless of how informed they are, change their views. That is, ideally, what a genuine learner should be. 3) Ijtihad was, is, and will continue to be a major driver of the growth of knowledge. This is true of every science, including religious sciences. If this was not the case, the first generation of Muslims would have said everything that was there to be said and learned and that would have been that. Islamic sciences, including Qur’anic studies, developed over centuries. Numerous terms and concepts that are intrinsic components of various Islamic sciences did not exist at some point, certainly not at the time of the Prophet Muhammed (PBUH). 4) Any presentation like this, by definition, involves a considerable amount of ijtihad. This was not a lecture on behalf of a certain group of Muslims, let alone “the majority of Muslims”. This was a presentation by a Muslim mujtahid/scholar. Many historical and technical details discussed in the presentation are not known to many as they had not studied them. The presentation also employs certain techniques to simplify the understanding of complex issues to the general viewer. This is what it tries to achieve. 5) The majority of Muslim scholars would have gone with a “No” to the question of whether Jesus (PBUH) is dead. But removing the “No” as an answer or putting the “Yes” before the “No” would not have added any value to the presentation that it did not already have. The new contribution this presentation makes is in dealing with very difficult questions that many Muslims have found challenging or would like to know about them. Some people would want to be bothered by such challenges and would rather have intellectual comfort. That is their right. 6) Blogging Theology, as far as I can tell from what I have seen myself, is not a place where a scholar is supposed to leave their personal ijtihad at its door before being allowed in. This is an educational channel on which diverse views are shared and discussed. I always strongly and unreservedly recommend it to anyone interested in modern scholarly discussions of various Islamic issues, learning about challenges that they may not even know existed, and understanding how to deal with them. Yet these discussions are conducted within a general Islamic framework. The channel is equally outstanding in hosting scholars of other faiths or no religious faith who discuss matters from completely different angles. These discussions are equally useful to Muslims. I am sure many people share my view that covering broad and diverse views and subjects are one reason why Blogging Theology is such a unique channel. 7) Listening to what one already knows or likes is no learning. Serving what people like to hear is no education. Anyone who has a genuine interest in learning and knowledge quickly discovers that they often learn more by studying views that are different from theirs and trying to see how things look from competing perspectives. The value we gain from any book, paper, video, podcast, or discussion in general is what we took away, not what we did not take. The focus should be on what we learned, not what discarded. 8) Adopting an “interpretation” of a verse that differs from the majority interpretation is not an act of rejecting the “verse”. Similarly, rejecting the “authenticity” of a ḥadīth or set of ḥadīths does not mean rejecting the “words” of the Prophet (PBUH). These centuries-old polemical strawman arguments have to be stopped. We have had enough of them. 9) The elements of the Muslim faith have been made simple and clear in the Qur’an for everyone to read. The claim that scholar X is needed to know the components of faith in Islam implies that the Qur’an is not “mubin (clear/manifest)”. If the Qur’an does not give its reader direct access even to the elements of the faith it promotes, what is clear about it then? 10) This is one verse that defines the fundamentals of faith in Islam: “O you who have believed, believe in Allah and His Messenger and the Book that He sent down upon His Messenger, and the Scripture which He sent down before. And whoever disbelieves in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, and the Last Day has certainly gone far astray” (4:136). There are many other such verses. To have the full Islamic faith, one has to believe not only in Muḥammad (PBUH), but also in Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Jesus, and all other prophets (PBUH). Whether Abraham had only two sons or more, Moses’ father-in-law was the prophet Shuʿayb or someone else, Jesus was crucified or not, is not a requirement of faith. As clear from my two interviews on Blogging Theology, I do believe that Jesus (PBUH) escaped the crucifixion, that he was raised to heaven by God, and that he died at some point just like any other human being. However, I do not consider those who claim that he is still alive to have a problem with the basics of the faith. This is not because this is the majority view; no. It is so because these details about Jesus’ life and death are not an article of faith in Islam. This is also why believing that Jesus was crucified does not mean that the person’s Islamic faith is incomplete. All these differences are exegetical, meaning that they are different interpretations of the Qur’anic text. All these Muslims consider the Qur’an the word of God but they differ in their interpretations. 11) Finally, some eminent scholars have expressed the view that Jesus (PBUH) is not only dead but also that he was not raised to heaven. These are some of them: Muhammad ʿAbduh, Muhammad Rashid Ridha, Mustafā al-Maraghi, Muhammad Shaltut, Muhammad Ibn ʿAshur, Muhammad Abu Zahra, and Muhammad al-Ghazali. Those who read Arabic may want to check out Muhammad Shaltut’s fatwa on this subject here shorturl.at/xEFZ7. He updated his fatwa with more details in his book “Al-Fatawa”. I hope this note makes the disagreement on whether Jesus (PBUH) is dead or alive more useful than just a rejection of one view in favour of another.
When I first came across Muslim claims that the Gospels had been altered and that Jesus was never really crucified, I initially dismissed them. Then I came across evidence from Christian sources that the Gospels had indeed been altered, and that much of the New Testament epistles were forgeries. I remember a conversation with an extremely devout Christian friend who said that the fact that many Bibles claimed that the story of the woman taken in adultery (John 8) was not found in the best and earliest manuscripts was starting to make her question what she'd been taught about the inerrancy and accuracy of Scripture. I'd long before gone down that rabbit hole and I told her, "If you value your faith as a Christian, you will not notice these things. You will not ask questions. You will accept things as they have been presented to you. Because if you don't and you continue to question and you continue to notice things that don't add up, you may find yourself leaving Christianity." I said this because she had invested so much of herself in her particular version of Christianity and had given up so much, that for her to realize that maybe she'd thrown away her life for nothing would absolutely destroy her. She was not ready to look at the evidence, which is why I told her what I did. Anyway, as I said, I was gently challenged by the Muslims I met to take another look at my religion. I still thought they were wrong, but the more I started looking at the Gospels, the New Testament, the early history of the Church and how the Bible came to be, the more I said to myself, I still don't think they are right, but there's an awful lot they aren't wrong about. I started noticing things that had more or less always bugged me about what actually happened towards the end of Jesus' life. The contradictions you mentioned. Plus there seemed to be a disconnect between the Passion Narrative portion of the Gospel and the earlier parts of Jesus' ministry. If all the disciples ran away at the arrest, then how do we know what happened afterwards? We are taken into meetings and given detailed accounts of who said what to whom. The explanation that the nuns gave is that the Holy Spirit inspired the Gospel writers and told them what to say, so that the Gospels are really a form of revelation. So it didn't matter that they were not eyewitnesses. Well, ok, but I think you know what the next problem with that is. It's a story that falls apart. Up until the point where Jesus and his disciples go out to the garden to pray after the Last Supper, it holds together pretty well, but after that . . . We are told the disciples fell asleep. Then we are told they ran away. So, did the soldiers grab the wrong guy? Was there a supernatural intervention? We don't know. There is so much in the story as told in the Gospels that doesn't add up. It is indeed a mystery.
Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, " *The Hour will not be established until the son of Mary (i.e. Jesus A.S) descends amongst you as a just ruler,* he will break the cross, kill the pigs, and abolish the Jizya. Money will be in abundance so that nobody will accept it (as charitable gifts)." Sahih al-Bukhari 2476
@@Kimeikusdon’t assume something like that about br. Dear Paul, did you read the Gnostic gospel of St. Peter? There is a long conversation between Jesus and his apostle Peter the day the crucifixion occured before their eyes . There were two Jesus(es) according to this gospel (one standing next to Peter talking to him and smiling and another one being nailed on the cross)! That gospel was found in a clay jar buried somewhere near a village in Egypt. İt was written in an ancient Coptic language. İt is said that the scripts were written about two centuries AD. İn a word , that gospel confirms what the Quran mentions about the killing and the crucifixion of Jesus son of Mary. Thanks to give us your views & comments on that particular Gospel.
this is a long video so gotta save it for later, May Allah give me baraka in my time to be able to watch it all. thank you paul and thanks to your guest.
In Budge's Miscellaneous Coptic Texts is a Discourse on Mary by Cyril of Jerusalem. Cyril (Pseudo-Cyril) relates that he had to send for a monk of Maioma of Gaza who was teaching false doctrine. Called on for an account of his belief the monk (p. 637, Eng. trans.) said: It is written in the Gospel to the Hebrews that when Christ wished to come upon the earth to men, the good Father called a mighty power in the heavens which was called Michael, and committed Christ to the care thereof. And the power came down into the world and it was called Mary, and Christ was in her womb seven months. Afterwards she gave birth to him, and he increased in stature, and he chose the apostles, . . . 'was crucified, and taken up by the Father'. Cyril asked: Where in the Four Gospels is it said that the holy Virgin Mary the mother of god is a force? The monk said: In the Gospel to the Hebrews. Then, said Cyril, there are five Gospels? Where is the fifth? The monk said: It is the Gospel that was written to the Hebrews. (Cyril convinced him of his error and burned the books. No more is told of the Gospel, which, whatever it may have been, was certainly not the book we have been dealing with, but a writing of pronouncedly heretical (Docetic?) views. The last sentence of themonk's account of Christ, which I did not quote in full just now, is perhaps worth recording.) 'After they had raised him up on the cross, the Father took him up into heaven unto himself.' This, with its omissin of all mention of the resurrection, might be construed as heretical: on the other hand, it may be merely a case of extreme compression of the narrative. Interesting this is the only account of the crucifixion we have quoted from the gospel, according to the Hebrews, which apparently was written in Hebrew by the eyewitness, Matthew It’s very interesting Also the Gospel according to the Hebrews, lately translated by me into Greek and Latin speech, which Origen often uses, tells, after the resurrection of the Saviour: 'Now the Lord, when he had given the linen cloth unto the servant of the priest, went unto James and appeared to him (for James had sworn that he would not eat bread from that hour wherein he had drunk the Lord's cup until he should see him risen again from among them that sleep)', and again after a little, 'Bring ye, saith the Lord, a table and bread', and immediately it is added, 'He took bread and blessed and brake and gave it unto James the Just and said unto him: My brother, eat thy bread, for the Son of Man is risen from among them that sleep'. It’s more interesting in the gospel. This is mentioned, but it also mentions Jesus did not die on the cross, and apparently this happens after the crucifixion. Very interesting Let me know yalls opinion on this please keep it friendly
It's worth pointing out that, as far as human perceptions are concerned, the Quranic account conforms to the New Testament account, i.e. that it 'appeared' that Jesus was crucified. So even from a Quranic perspective, the New Testament authors are accurately reporting what people actually perceived to have happened with respect to the crucifixion.
I'd rather believe that "it appeared so to them"" due to their own ignorance and one of them is they had no knowledge at all. They believed what others had said. Thus following a conjecture.
Allah takes the souls " at the time of their death", and those that die not during their sleep; then He withholds those on whom He has passed the decree of death "and sends the others back till an appointed term"; most surely there are signs in this for a people who reflect[ Q 39:42]
"Appeared", what appeared to them? That 'Iisaa ibn Maryam wasn't crucified but the attempter (to be the killer) was was killed (by his companions of the act to kill) and then crucified (stll alive or dead) who they later called Jesus (in the so-called koine Greek, through hearsays)! Ahaadiith are the same as the Bibles, all no direct connection to Allaah and His Prophets, just hearsays of Men into their way to becoming (with or without intentions) to Men-Gods! Allaah vs humanity! The enemy of humanity is only humanity itself! Humanity is the same be it Believers, non-Believers, Animists, Spiritualitists, Agnostics, Atheists, JudeoChristians, Hinduists, Buddhists, Shintoists and certainly Muslims... all with or without knowing follow humanity. With or without knowledge, we humans are always in Jaahiliyyat not just pre-Islaamic period!
It was Jewish spy (Judas Iscariot ) who was actually on the cross lamented in bewilderment “Eli, Eli, lamaa sabaktani “ ( oh my God, oh my God, Why did you forsake me?!” This lamentation meant among other things that the Jewish spy on the cross sincerely believed he was doing a great service to Lord and the Israeli people by exposing Jesus as a false prophet pretending to be his follower. As usual with all empires and their failed operations, Roman Empire concocted a story to hide their failure with the support of the Jewish priesthood and declared “mission accomplished”. For the question “What happened to Judas Iscariot?” who was not seen at all after crucifixion event, they made a story of committing suicide out of regret and repentance! When this commitment of suicide took place? They gave answer : “Before crucifixion had taken place!” How many days in total between ‘betrayal’ and this alleged commitment of suicide that took place before the crucifixion event? How come he becomes so repentant within such a short time that also before crucifixion!? Actually, and as Islamic version of the story reiterates, both Jesus and Judas disappeared with crucifixion event from the mouth of the earth. Jesus got raised miraculously and Judas got crucified. Most of the people, as usual with government versions especially when it is against the enemies of the government even in the modern world, believed Roman Empire’s version of the story. Even now, what most of the people believe is government’s lies glorifying itself on all It’s failed operations against its enemies. And no government in all over the world admits that it’s operation against all its enemies ever failed. Quran didn’t deny crucifixion. Crucifixion took place, but was not on Jesus. Roman Empire and Jewish priesthood failed in their operation against Jesus. God, the Almighty, accepted Jesus’ prayers. Quran unequivocally said Jesus was neither crucified, nor killed”. First, Quran categorically denied the false belief in the original sin itself, the foundational stone of redemption through crucifixion. It said, God , the Most Merciful forgave Adam and Eve fortheir violation of the commandment immediately when they had prayed for His forgiveness. So, there doesn’t raise any question of somebody else getting crucified after tens of thousands of years even without the knowledge of the so called Original Sinners and the generations who lived afterwards before pagan Christian belief had originated. Quran was very much bold and not political when it denied the then existing and prevalent false belief. It could have said in political way “Jesus was murdered just like many other prophets before him who also were murdered by the enemies of the truth. John the Baptist was murdered by the enemies of the truth in front of their naked eyes. If John’s murder was not for redemption of the sin committed by somebody else and allegedly inherited by the posterity, Jesus crucifixion also was not so”. But it even didn’t say so. (Quran gives the parallelism of John’s and Jesus’ birth stories to deny divinity ascribed to Jesus due to his miraculous birth). This is how Quran had retorted when a rumor was spread about killing of prophet Muhammad in the battle of Uhd”. It said: “Muhammad is no more than a Messenger, and Messengers have passed away before him. If, then, he were to die or be slain will you turn about on your heels? “ (3:144). Finally, most people who had lived and currently live in the Middle East where Muhammad, Jesus and all biblical prophets had lived, believed and believe what Quran said about Jesus!
i really love the was br. Louay philosophically argues against a naturalistic methodology/for his (and our) own worldview being assumed in his own method, making his approach justifiable and believer friendly
Shocked to hear at 20:00 that "Hadith literature says that he AS is returning but I don't believe that as the Quran doesn't say that" How can a Muslim say that? Is Dr Fatuhi a Hadith Rejector? What is his belief or thought based on ?
Great work thank you 🙏🏻 To my mind, we shouldn’t deny the prophecy of the suffering messiah because even a prophetic messiah (rassul) such as Moses ؑ or Muhammad ﷺ suffered greatly with his people. Only we should develop an Islamic definition for the terms “sacrifice”’, “redemption” and “suffering”. Then it would be much easier to identify the one who fulfilled the prophecy in Isaiah 53. From Ishmael (Muhammad’s ancestor) to Abdullah (his father) and Hussain (his grandson), the sacrifice was great: “Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial - and We ransomed him with a great sacrifice” Quran 37:106-107 Worthy is the lamb who was slain… Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as you have blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Truly, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.
In 20:22 he said Jesus not coming back ? There is two ethnicities books Bukharin and Muslim , plus in the Koraan Allha raised him and didn't take his Sol , Avery sunni Muslims believe that Jesus coming to fight the anti Crist , unless you are ahmadi ,and you trying hard to prove your point from philosophy, it's not working man.
Something that is not a condition of Islam (believing that Jesus will come back), not everyone believes, we believe in everything written in the Qur'an, but we know that some hadiths are fabricated, the Dajjal and the return of Jesus (I don't know if they are fake or real hadith), this, Therefore, believing that Jesus will return is not a condition of faith.
Generally people who come into Islam by their own conviction are contributing much more than those born into islam. Sahaba converted to islam and what they achieved couldn't be matched by their children and grandchildren who were born into islam
Obviously, most scholars were born Muslims. But you are right that when someone converts to Islam, they go through a unique process. They do not carry the baggage of someone who was born Muslim. Their different background and experience help them look at things differently. The challenges of the conversion experience make them study their new religion more.
It would be great if this speaker could talk about the idea that Jesus is not coming back in Islam. When I first heard this idea from Mufti Abu Layth, I was very shocked and after looking into it more, it seems this idea is not too crazy even if I am not convinced by this idea.
Jesus having died is a completely false notion, the man who gave this lecture should publicly take back his words, as the Qur'an doesn't state that Jesus died, rather it informs us that they didn't kill him and that he was raised to Allah. Allah said in the Qur'an: And [for] their saying, "Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah." And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain. Rather, Allah raised him to Himself. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise. (Surah An-Nisa Verses 157 & 158, Saheeh International translation) Peace
@@thecaptainpalestine This just assets that they didn't kill him. It is like saying that the verses about Moses or Lot (as) being saved by God mean that they never died.
@@stevenv6463 Allah also says as can be seen from what I quoted: "And they did not kill him, for certain. Rather Allah raised him to Himself and ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise." With regards Jesus's return the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, the son of Maryam will descend among you as a just judge. He will break the cross, kill the pigs and abolish the jizyah (tax paid by non-Muslims in an Islamic state), and money will become so widespread that there will be no one who will accept it.” (Agreed upon; narrated by Muslim, no. 155). Whoever claims Jesus died or won't return has no evidence to support their claims, on the contrary the Qur'an, and the hadeeth prove he did not die and that he will return.
@@mikethomas7718 It’s quite possible. Because he also by extension would throw out ahadeeth about dajjal and Imam Mehdi. How can you believe in them and not the return of Esa عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ ??? And it’s not one or two. It’s around ten or more authentic sahih ahadeeth that have to be discarded. He could be a quranite of some sort
@@louay.fatoohi It is, when you essentially throw out upwards of ten sahih ahadeeth. Some of which are mutawatir. I did read your reply to Omayr. 10 of the 11 points are just stating the need to be allowed to have different opinions. Great. You also need to bring evidence for your opinions. When you can throw out multiple sahih ahadeeth you are in dangerous territory. Why couldn't someone throw out ahadeeth on how to perform salat?? Instead of praying the sunnah way they stand on their head and pray. Yes. It is at least bordering on blasphemously; to do this kind of thing. Not to mention you give the haters of Islam full ammunition to destroy the deen. If I were a hater talking to you I would simply say sooo these ahadeeth aren't true? Yet the chain is sound? Ok. Let see what else isn't true. Then pick apart the entire religion and make you answer for 500 more ahadeeth. The haters of Islam salivate at the thought of throwing out multiple sahih hadeeth. That is the bottom line in the end. If you say Esa عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ is dead and not returning you must by definition throw out many Ahadeeth about his return, about the dajall, and many others. A simple search yields there are around ten. That is a disturbing method. Of course if you have determined that all these sahih ahadeeth are in fact weak; that is a different story. I haven't seen anyone challenge that to this day. But that is the evidence you would have to provide. Not simply saying there should be freedom of opinions. That part is obvious.
Dr. Fatoohi said Jesus (mpbuh) will not come back to live on Earth (at 20.14mint). I have two issues here. 1). There is a burial place reserved for Jesus(mpbuh) in the Prophet's mosque in Madeena, next to the burial place of Prophet Muhammad (saw). 2). Holy Quran Verse 19:33 - "So peace is on me the day I was born, the day that I die, and the day that I shall be raised up to life (again)". The Verse says; the day I die and the day I shall be raised up to life. It indicates that he will come back to live and die. I hope Dr Fatoohi could explain.
The truth is; Prophet Yeshua was not arrested, nor mocked, nor crucified at all but was caught up to heaven before soldiers arrived the house he stayed with his followers.
Great talk! Would be great to have Dr.Ali Altaei and Dr.Fatoohi discuss their opinions regarding the return of Isa (PBUH) as evidenced by Quran and Hadith. I think Dr.Ali Altaei is of the position that Isa (PBUH) will return and as Dr.Fatoohi mentioned at 20:00, he is not. Would be interesting to hear their justifications.
Dr Louay Fatoohi should not be conflating his opinion with the widely attested and unanimous Islamic views on Jesus. There is a consensus amongst the scholars of Islam that 'Isa (AS) will come back, It is mass transmitted (mutawatir), and a point of belief, as recorded in the Tahawiyya and elsewhere, that he will descend from Heaven at the end of times.
You are absolutely wrong! 80% of Muslims believe what Dr. Louay Fatoohi explains... There is nothing in the Qur'an about Mehdi or the Messiah! Stories from Christianity and Judaism applied to Shia Islam. Same for 12 imams, they are all fake tales!
Hi Paul. Assalamoalikum. I have a request. Could you get Dr. Fatoohi back on another episode to discuss why he doesn't believe in the return of Isa (Jesus). I'd like him to dissect the verses of the Qur'an that the scholars refer to AND the abundance of Sahih Ahadeeth that refer to it as well. If the discussion does turn to the unreliability of saheeh ahadith, I'd also love an episode of which ones he considers particularly problematic, why, and what reformations he'll bring to the criteria to judge ahadith so we can isolate the actually authentic ones. Great video btw. Keep it up.
Dear Mr. Paul, Many of the Arab viewers are deprived of these useful lectures because of the language(English). is there an intention to add translation to Arabic or any other Language to your videos? I hope so....
This person is an Iraqi Christian who converted to Islam? I find that really interesting because I myself am from a Lebanese Christian family and converted to Islam. I rarely see middle eastern Christian converts, Im sure I'll enjoy this video

Hello Brothers I become Muslim 4 months ago and when I pray to god in In Islam if feels like God doesn’t hear me and I feel cursed for some reason I always get these negative thoughts in my head and stuff. But when i was following the Bible and Praying To Yahawah I felt like he heard me and he blessed me allot, please brothers help me I’m just so confused. Sorry my English is not very good
The god of Islam is a false god. He has no spirit. No spirit means no life. You left the truth for Islam. There’s only one truth. Return to the God of the bible. There’s no salvation except through Christ Jesus. He loves you and is waiting for you to return with open arms. Seek him whilst you still can and before it’s too late. The truth is GOD. Jesus claimed to be the truth.
If you were that blessed in Christianity, why do you convert to Islam you are a liar (How did I know you were a liar, I read between the lines. You don't even have the intelligence to lie )! I believe you are a worthless troll.
God raised Jesus for Himself thus Jesus didn't die on the cross. If we claim that Jesus is not coming back (at least to die on earth) does it mean Jesus will live forever?
On the Day of Judgment, when the angel blows the horn, all living things including humans( Jesus too), animals, and atoms will die (only Allah/God will never die)! When the second horn sounds, everyone will be resurrected, then judgment will begin.
This channel is evidence that top quality islamic scholars are alive and well in the world. This channel is like a new house of wisdom (Bayt al Hikma). When Akbar, the great Moghul ruler, was emperor he established a discussion forum where religious scholars from every tradition would sit and discuss the truth which inspired him to find the universal truth of all religions- Din Ilahi. That was 400 years ago. Paul thank you for your channel sir and keep going! It is important to maintain the legacy of truth initiating from Our Master, the Prophet.
54 mins in. He is not disproving anything. In what is in favour for the crucifixion and what is against the crucifixion, the amounts of evidence that is going for the crucifixion as opposed to against the crucifixion is insurmountable.
Brother Paul, can you discuss with Dr Fatoohi about the substitution evidence from the Bible itself? John 8 verse 28 is ambiguous however it conveys a meaning of people will know it is him lifted on the cross! Also John 13 from 18~21 ties the one whom shared the bread to the prophecies of Psalms? mainly the ones where he will substitute the messiah on the scheme of betrayal he devised... The story of two sons of man, one that has his prayers answered, master while the other has his prayers revoked & a treasonous lowly worm!
Supernatural to me is a place where we do not have enough knowledge to explain a phenomenon. It's all explainable the day we will have the knowledge ..

I heard he said this , I watched the first video on blogging theology with him now I am listening to this one closely. Unfortunately many modern scholars are reinterpreting the ayah about Isa Ibn Maryam alayhi salaam.
@@markward3981 Yes it is falsehood that should not be considered let alone spread, it is clear in the Quran that Jesus was not crucified nor killed! "but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but it appeared so to them" (Translation of the Quran, Chapter 4, verse 156)

@@marcorolo4726 That reply did not address the relevant Qur’anic verses and ḥadīths, which I will write a separate analysis of. I discussed some related issues including serious problems in claiming that accepting the return of Jesus (PBUH) is an article of the Muslim faith.
@@marcorolo4726 Dear brother, Let 's put aside this particular thread to focus on the issue, rather than certain individuals. Conversial issues are easier discussed this way. Those who disagree with the rejection of the return of Jesus conflate two completely different issues. First, they claim that this amounts to rejecting mutawatir ḥadīth. This, in turn, means rejecting something that the Prophet (PBUH) has genuinely said. Second, they consider accepting Jesus’ return a creedal issue, i.e. a requirement of faith. The second point is what amplifies the first point beyond what it would otherwise be. Let me explain. A scholar may have their reasons for rejecting the authenticity of certain ḥadīths even though others call them mutawatir. That would not usually attract much attention and criticism, as there are numerous ḥadīths and scholars do differ at times even on substantive points, including the very definition of tawatur. However, the ḥadīths on Jesus’ return are given special significance. Why is that? Because accepting the return of Jesus is seen as an article of faith. If this assumption was not there, rejecting these ḥadīths would not be particularly controversial. This, then, should lead us to the following critical question: is accepting that Jesus will return a requirement of faith? I will make two statements here. First, there is nothing in the Qur’an to suggest this. The definition of belief/iman in the Qur’an is simple and clear. Second, the same is true of the ḥadīth. I am not aware of any ḥadīth that makes accepting Jesus’ return is an article of faith. This is one famous ḥadīth reported in Bukhari in which the Prophet (PBUH) defines faith/iman: “To believe in Allah, and His angels, and His meeting, and His messengers, and to believe in the Resurrection”. This reiterates what the Qur’an says, and this makes full sense. It makes full sense because if the Qur’an did not explain the requirements of faith clearly and in a simple language, it could not have been described as a clear book, which is how Allah describes it.
Salam Dr Louai Fatoohi. I am going over your talks and analysis, and liking them quite a bit. Want to narrow it to one point here. I am amazed that you have an astronomy background. I think a lot about general theory of relativity and spacetime. If God has taken up Jesus Christ, it makes more sense that he is not in our time dimension, and so there is no need to think he is currently 2000+ years old, right? Why would that pose as a mental block for him returning? When he comes back, he is just around 33 or so..for him time did not pass, but in our dimension, eons went by. I would assume with an astrophysics background, such analysis will make more sense to you, but I wonder why it did not. Also, it is hard to brush away many mutawatir hadith narration of Jesus Christ coming back, no? Indirect reference of him coming back in the Quran is also noteworthy. What are your thoughts on these?
Gospels tell us that Jesus Barabbas was freed by Pontius Pilate. Considering the coincidence of the first name being Jesus, and the last name, a patronymic, that could just as well refer to JC, it is possible that the scribe's, still under the Roman thumb, tried to reveal the secret to posterity that crucifixion was not how it seemed.
We can't deny his return because muslims even before Bukhari would believe in it and if someone says ok, muslims of that time got confused because of Christian theology then we are simply saying that they didn't have the knowledge of the Qur'an, THERE ARE MANY THINGS HAPPENING TODAY WHICH WERE CONSIDERED IMPOSSIBLE FEW YEARS AGO,
*We have taken some notes while watching this video. And our Opinion is as under:* 1- Brother Fatoohi has defined Arabic Word of Quran "Ghaib" as unknown history but we think, meaning of word Ghaib in Quran is: those things which are beyond the perception of human beings, and only God knows those events. We read in Quran 2:3 ٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْغَيْبِ وَيُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَـٰهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ "Who believe in [the existence of] that *which is beyond the reach of human perception,* and are constant in prayer, and spend on others out of what We provide for them as sustenance;" (Asad) ---- Note: Salat never means: Prayers or Rituals 2- In First Gospel, Gospel of Mark of 4th Century, we do not see any hoax of Ascension and Return of Jesus nor any fable of Virgin Birth. If these two stories were REAL; then how could Mark miss these two highly Fanciful tales!! These Fables were Blended in Gospels much later. 3- Quran is the Most Beautiful Book, and Quran fully explains itself by its own Tasreef 6:105, 25:33, 6:114, 18:54. Word RAFA which is used for Jesus in 4:158 is also used in many other verses of Quran and its meaning is TO RAISE. But Question is: What kind of Raise? Raise in Salary, Raise volume of this Video, Raise in Flood level in a River or what? In Quran meaning of RAISE=RAFA is TO RAISE IN HONOR or Spiritual Exaltation; never to raise body of Jesus to any remote part of Sky (God is closer than neck vein 50:16). Verse 3:55 confirms what is given in 32:11 that only after death, soul of person is raised to God. When Quran was in need to show something being raised PHYSICALLY UP; then Quran has not used word RAFA of 4:158 but have used word Yas'ad as we see in 6:125 and 35:10. Beautiful Quran has indeed made CONTRAST of two words RAFA and Yas'ad in same one verse 35:10 where meaning of RAFA is Exalt, and meaning word Yas'ad is to raise up physically. Dr. Louay Fatoohi is an Arab, and he knows well that Mas'ad (Elevator) is used in High rise buildings to raise People from first Story to upper story. Word Mas'ad is in fact another connotation of word Ya'sad which is used in Quran 6:125 and 35:10. We read in famous Book of Sunni sect MUSTADRAK and in other books too that when a Person asked meaning of word RAFA of 4:158 from Imam Abu Hanifa; he told person: Read Quranic verse 35:10. 4- Word WAFAT is used in over 25 verses for natural death. Same word is used in 10:46 for the natural death of Prophet Mohammad, and same word WAFAT is used for the Natural death of Jesus in 5:117 but Who love Fiction, they Tamper translation of verse 5:117. Verse 3:144 also makes VERY CLEAR that all Messengers before Mohammad has been passed away=Died. This means: Jesus is also died NATURALLY at very old age, and dead never return to this world where Russian-Ukrainian war is going on, and Covid has made this planet already, HELL. In verse 5:110, Quran has used word KAHLAN for the last stage of age of Jesus. In Ancient Hadith Literature, word Kahlan of 5:110 is used for that Putrid age when skin of person starts to putrefy. This is age of more than 100 years. It is mentioned in over 25 Famous Books of Sunni sect that Prophet Mohammad said: Jesus died at 120 age. PURE Secular History also shows he died at age 120. Even Book of Church Father Irenaeus (died 202 CE) shows that Jesus lived to the era of Roman Emperor Trajan who died in 117 CE 5- Theory of Substitution was spread by Agnostic Christian groups which was later infused in Hadith Books. In verse 4:157 word Shubbiha means: Resembled. Now, if you are driving countryside, and you see one person lying on foot path, and his bleeding body is not moving; you might think: he is dead. You called Ambulance to inform about that Person. Office of Ambulance asks: is person dead or still alive? You answer: I do not know exactly but he RESEMBLES a DEAD PERSON. But when he was treated in Hospital, Doctor knew that he was in Deep Coma, so he was resuscitated (NOT Resurrected) on 3rd day in City Hospital of New York. Same is the case of Jesus. When Essene (HawaariYoon See Quran 3:52) Joseph of Arimathea told Pilate that it seems, Jesus has died on the Cross; so we need his body. Pilate sent a Roman Soldier to pierce one side of Chest of Jesus with spear to see if really he was dead, but body did not move; however water and blood gushed out which show: heart was still pumping. Because his body did not move due to DEEP DEEP DEEP coma; so in front of Roman Soldier, JESUS' body *resembled (Shubbiha 4:157) a Dead body,* and he handed over body to Essene Joseph of Arimathea, who with Essene's top Doctor, Dr. Nicodemus treated Jesus in a empty Tomb, and Resuscitated him. So Jesus was never Crucified as Noble Quran says in 4:157. Gospel of John and Luke show clearly that after resuscitation, Jesus was very much alive, and meeting disciples and eating with them bread and Fish. We read in Gospel of Thomas that Jesus told his disciples that he is leaving them but he did not disclose to them his destination. Disciples asked: We know you are leaving us but whom should we follow after you? Jesus told them: after me, follow "James the Just" (brother of Jesus). Gospels and Quranic Surah 3 also Confirm that Mary had many Children, and Surah 13 of Quran confirms that Jesus too was married and had Children. James the Just is recorded saying: Jesus was Pathological son of Joseph and Mary. Historical Record shows: later he hid his identity as Yuz Asaf so that Romans should not arrest him again, and moved to Damascus and stayed with his disciple Ananias, then he with mother Mary moved to Nisibis Turkey, then to Persia, then to Taxila Pakistan (see Acta Thomae - Act of Thomas), then to Murree Pakistan, then to Srinagar Kashmir; he preached there lost 10 tribes of Israel ( Kashmiri and Afghanis) and died at age 120, and is buried in RozaBal Grave. We can see even today 2000 years old Grave of Mary (mother of Jesus) on hilltop of Murree (near Islamabad Pakistan). *We read in Matthew: Jesus said: I have been sent to preach lost Sheep of Israel. Even after 2700 years; even today you can match almost all Tribe names of Afghani and Kashmiri with those Tribes which are given in Old Testament. One al-Ahad Hadith which say: Jesus will return, has been rejected by many scholars like Allama Mohammad Iqbal. 1200 years ago, Imam Malik Said "Maat Isa" which mean: Jesus has been died. Many Sunni Scholars has rejected Hoax of Ascension and Return of Jesus. Tabari writes that God told Jesus to immigrate to other countries, so Jesus was roaming from one Country to other country* 6- Suffering: God tests even his true Servants. Prophets of God John the Baptist and Zakria were mudded. So nailing of Jesus on Cross is not a strange and exceptional suffering. 7- Let Dr. Louay Fatoohi realize that Majority is not a benchmark of being Right, Truth can be standing alone
Another stimulating talk. Thank you. I'm in agreement with you about Christian errors. Your delight in describing evidence of Christian mistakes is very evident. Personally, I am saddened by the fact that so many are misguided. I've not studied Islam enough, so far, to sort fact from fiction. Surely it is more righteous to sympathize with any who stride confidently in the wrong direction, whatever their allegiance. Are we engaged in study or contest?
@Faisal Siraj As I wrote. I do not disagree with your evidence or your conclusions. I do though, feel sadness, not delight in finding evidence that so many Christians stride so confidently in the wrong direction. Is sympathy for them not appropriate?
@AlBinqaawi I do not doubt any of what you are saying. As I learn more history, I am more and more aware of Christian shortcomings and the myths that are woven into Christian beliefs. I am here to learn what I can of another religion and its history. The speaker here characterized Islam as not having been advanced by the "sword". The limited Muslim history I have read describes the Prophet Mohamed as a military leader who conquered Mecca. Also, I understand that the Quran (the word of God) includes passages instructing the killing of nonbelievers. Are these true facts or not? I don't know. Have I been reading inaccurate history and mistranslated passages? I'm not in a contest - one religion and another. Just want a straight answer.
@@chuckhillier4153 you should do your own research and keep an open mind islam was not spread by the sword common misconception made by islamaphobes ...and we believe in the original gospel of Jesus trinity was created by 9th centry romans. Jesus Christ predicted his own death and resurrection three times in the Gospel. Mark 8:31-33 31 Then he began to teach them that the Son of Man must undergo great suffering, and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. 32 He said all this quite openly. And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. 33 But turning and looking at his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said, “Get behind me, Satan! For you are setting your mind not on divine things but on human things.”
To be honest, the best way or challenge to find out about Jesus's Crucifixion is to asked God this question. God or Allah if you there, please reveal yourself. At list by praying that prayer an asking God, you know you are trying to find the true answer. Just as the Bible says in Matthew 7 v 7 to 11, which clearly says in v 7 Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you. V8 For everyone who asks receives, the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened .
"please reveal yourself" ? Seriously , who are you ? No man can see God , not even Moses. Yes , the "Christian" Jesus says "ask and it will be given to you , for everyone who ask receives". But according to Christianity , Jesus asked God to save him from the crucifixion : Matthew 26:39 [39] Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” and yet , HE DID NOT RECEIVE. Matthew 27:46 [46] About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lemasabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”). The very verses you try to quote (Matthew 7:7-11) is a proof that Islam is the truth , he asked & God saved him.
but we (puny human) must have The *DEFINITION* of God *FIRST* . So that Pol Pot, Hitler, Saddam, Mao, Genghis Khan etc wont woke up from their grave *to claim*

1:24:20 I think the events around jesus' supposed crucifixion were so ambiguous (30-60ad) that the early people didn't have many rumours to go by; just that jesus was crucified but it was in fact jesus barabbas (most people probably didn't know this), couple that with the fact that 3 days later the disciples say jesus visited them and told them he didn't die, it only compounds the ambiguity (that undead jesus after the expected crucifixion was retrospectively transformed into a dying rising christ due to the confirmation bias of messianic pharisaic jews). Only when james the brother of jesus was killed did people get the idea to script jesus' death around that of james'; sanhedrin trial, ananius was high priest who condemned jesus just like ananius son of ananius condemned james in the sanhedrin.
Another topic that needs to be covered is if Jesus is ever coming back as per the Holy Quran. You covered it .. why would Jesus come back .. to do what. When he was not crucified then he died a natural death .. lifted up to me means lifted in ranks ..
Not the best analogy comparing Noah to Jesus, because Noah lived 950 years on earth. Living in the heavenly realm is a whole different reality when it comes to the passing of time.
prophet noah, peace be upon him invited people to Allah, the Most High for 950 years* as Allah, the Most High says in surah ankabut- 29:14 but we do not know how long he lived for on earth
@@dabbetul salaamu'alaikum :) it's just the feeling of knowing a certain knowledge and if i dont say it then i feel like im doing wrong and it disturbs my peace so here i was :) :) :) may Allah, the Most High bless you
@@mylordtakemeaway Yeah, I really appreciate when someone points out to me something that has slipped my attention. I actually had to go back to the verse and look at it again. A small detail, that is easily overlooked :) Wa alaykum musalam wa rahmatullah wa barakatuhu!
@Faisal Siraj My comment was in response to the speaker saying that there is no mention of Jesus' miraculous length of life in the Qur'an, as it is with Noah, peace be upon both of them. Meaning that he is not alive. But I wanted to stress the point that being alive in a heavenly realm is not the same AS being alive on earth. This is regardless if one believes that Jesus is alive and coming back.
Crucifixion Baggage 2:34:31 It's got baggage because one's religious leader being crucified was a point of embarrassment, wasn't it? The Roman execution cross back then was far different back then than it is today (the warp and woof, as Jews put it). Back then there were different methods of crucifixion and Seneca Minor lists three of them: 1 hanging upside-down on a pole, 2 impalement, and 3 hanging upright by the wrists (Dialogue 6.20.3 = De Consolatione 20.3). These were not standard, though. The standard method described by Seneca, again, involved elements 2 and 3, plus 1 in reverse direction (Moral Epistles 101.10-14). Typically the cross would be in the stick figure of an aroused and erect male (Priapus, see The Priapeia 87 (Virgil, Catalepton 2a.18)). But the impalement was for a safe depth, often a "small peg," to prevent serious injury, until the legs were broken so that the person would fall uncontrollably and suffer fatal internal injuries - as well as shock and possible asphyxiation. There are three scholars acknowledging this, one grudgingly: Gunnar Samuelsson, John Granger Cook, and David Tombs.
There are many versions about the death of Jesus, the real Jesus-Jesus-Isa As. did not die but when it was saved and who was decided in the crucifixion were identical people with Jesus-Jesus-Isa As. Therefore, in the story of the crucifixion of Jesus there is a shout "Eli .. Eli Lama Sabakhtani" on (Matthew 27:46) which is not a personal accent tradition of Jesus-Jesus-Isa As. as the tribe of Judah and Levite Aramaic language during life to say to God Almighty. The tradition of saying Jesus-Jesus-Isa As. according to the Aramaic accent is "Eloi" and "Elahi" in Hebrew becomes "Elohim" not just "Eli" speech.
I think the most likely explanation for the "Wise King" of Mara bar Serapion was the former High Priest Hanan ben Hanan, a leader of the Judean rebels who was murdered by the Idumeans during the Jewish civil war in 68 CE that took place after the Romans were thrown out but before they returned and destroyed the Temple. All of which was contemporary history to the Assyrian observer. The Great Revolt began in 66 CE. Hanan was killed in 68 CE. Jerusalem was sacked in 70 CE. Masada fell in 73 CE. Mara bar Serapion was imprisoned in either 72 or 73 CE. Hanan was actually the person who ordered the death of the leader of the Christian Jews James the Just in 62 CE, which led to so much criticism in Jerusalem the Romans removed him from office and replaced with a new High Priest Yeshua ben Damnai, who in turn was deposed in favor of another Yeshua ben Gamla (also killed by the Idumeans during the civil war). There are a lot of people named Jesus in the accounts of Yosef ben Mattiyahu (Titus Flavius Josephus). James the Just is another possible "Wise King" the link between his death and the instability that eventually led to the destruction of Jerusalem. However, it seems strange for an outsider to call him a king, he had no legal authority, he was a Rabbi, and was put to death by the authorized priests. We would have to assume Mara bar Serapion was very familiar with the internal politics of Christians and their leader Yakov. This is unlikely as Mara bar Serapion was a Stoic from Assyria not a Jew, let alone a Christian. That the Idumeans slaughtered the Judean leadership during the Great Revolt and that the infighting led to their defeat by Rome would be better known to a contemporary in a neighboring nation. Hanan ben Hanan was serving as the chief executive and the senior religious authority of the Judeans during the revolt until his death.
What evidence is there? There are claims; there are legends. Evidence would be a ledger kept by the Romans with a list of the crucified; a mention of the sky going dark for no apparent reason for three hours in some contemporaneous chronicle; a diary entry by Pilate mentioning the episode, etc. Right now, all we have are stories first recorded decades after the events under discussion. Any discussion of the "evidence" is pointless.
The question is much simpler. Why does it need to be complicated. I tried following but it is very hard. The subject is interesting but the way he tries to explain it is not effective to say the least.
Very enlightening. Thank you brother for your efforts.

Very true. A lot on non-experts in history, especially, speak on the crucifixion. This is common across the board in both religions. We definitely need more historical experts on such topics, no matter which religion it seems to go against. It opens up the intellectual discussions for our future generations, as well.

🙏
The crucifixion of Jesus is a historical certainty. This guy has no evidence of what he’s talking about just making hypothesis.
@Faisal Siraj
Inasmuch as many have undertaken
to compile a narrative of the things
which have been accomplished
among us, just as they were
delivered to us by those who from
the beginning
were eyewitnesses and ministers of
the word... (Luke 1:1-3)
St. Paul's epistles were written even
earlier. His first letter to the Corinthians,
written around A.D. 55, contains an early
Christian creed that begins:
For I delivered to you as of first
importance what I also received,
that Christ died for our sins in
accordance with the scriptures, that
he was buried, that he was raised
on the third day in accordance with
the scriptures (1 Cor. 15:3-7).
Scholars date this creed, which represents an
early oral tradition of the Christian Church, to
within six years after Christ's death. Some have
argued that it may have been
written months after Christ's death and
resurrection.
The above creeds shows that what Paul is preached is what he has received which proves that what he’s preaching is already what the apostles was testifying before he became one of them.
It still goes: 1 cor.15:5-6
and that he appeared to Cephas,[b] and then to the Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, “most of whom are still living”
, though some have fallen asleep.
According to you allah literally started the world biggest false religion(Christianity)
I hate to argue with people who lack critical thinking skills, If you’re gonna believe this crap for the sake of book rather than a living evidence that can be validate through history then it’s up to you.
Yet not as I will, but as you will.”
Jesus didn’t pray for God to save Him from the suffering(crucifixion) He asked God if it’s possible to let the cup(suffering) pass him but he goes on and say not as I wish but as you wish.

@@das16thegoon not debunked just to prove that it is not Historical fact but just probablity. This means you can only guessing as per Quran narattion that you do not have a sure evidence but doubtfull and conjecture.

(Quran)
Did Beloved Jesus son of Mary had a soul ? . Yes he did . So he did taste death .
Quran is non contradictory ,
If you say he jesus did not die , then you are contradicting it .
Therefore since JESUS legs were not cut off , he was not dead
He had just lost his consciousness and when laid in the chamber, from a vertical position on cross to a horizontal position in the chamber , his brain received proper circulation of blood , proper oxygenation . And he regained his consciousness and then left the chamber . He might have then moved away to another place and had a natural death and was thus raised .

In the meantime, I will respond briefly here, using this specific issue to raise broader and more fundamental points:
1) The process of ijtihad in Islam means applying one’s reasoning to develop their understanding of whatever they are studying.

Jazak Allah Khair, excellent analysis & discussion.

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, " *The Hour will not be established until the son of Mary (i.e. Jesus A.S) descends amongst you as a just ruler,* he will break the cross, kill the pigs, and abolish the Jizya. Money will be in abundance so that nobody will accept it (as charitable gifts)."

Can you send a link or something about it ?
this is a long video so gotta save it for later, May Allah give me baraka in my time to be able to watch it all. thank you paul and thanks to your guest.

This professor is amazing, mashaaAllaah. You seem to learn something new on each slide.
Interesting this is the only account of the crucifixion we have quoted from the gospel, according to the Hebrews, which apparently was written in Hebrew by the eyewitness, Matthew
It’s very interesting
Also the Gospel according to the Hebrews, lately translated by me into Greek and Latin speech, which Origen often uses, tells, after the resurrection of the Saviour: 'Now the Lord, when he had given the linen cloth unto the servant of the priest, went unto James and appeared to him (for James had sworn that he would not eat bread from that hour wherein he had drunk the Lord's cup until he should see him risen again from among them that sleep)', and again after a little, 'Bring ye, saith the Lord, a table and bread', and immediately it is added, 'He took bread and blessed and brake and gave it unto James the Just and said unto him: My brother, eat thy bread, for the Son of Man is risen from among them that sleep'.
It’s more interesting in the gospel. This is mentioned, but it also mentions Jesus did not die on the cross, and apparently this happens after the crucifixion.
Very interesting
Let me know yalls opinion on this please keep it friendly

It's worth pointing out that, as far as human perceptions are concerned, the Quranic account conforms to the New Testament account, i.e. that it 'appeared' that Jesus was crucified. So even from a Quranic perspective, the New Testament authors are accurately reporting what people actually perceived to have happened with respect to the crucifixion.
But, appeared to meaning as if Jesus was crucified, but he is not
I'd rather believe that "it appeared so to them"" due to their own ignorance and one of them is they had no knowledge at all.
(Quran gives the parallelism of
John’s and Jesus’ birth stories to deny divinity ascribed to Jesus due to his miraculous birth).

To my mind, we shouldn’t deny the prophecy of the suffering messiah because even a prophetic messiah (rassul) such as Moses ؑ or Muhammad ﷺ suffered greatly with his people. Only we should develop an Islamic definition for the terms “sacrifice”’, “redemption” and “suffering”. Then it would be much easier to identify the one who fulfilled the prophecy in Isaiah 53. From Ishmael (Muhammad’s ancestor) to Abdullah (his father) and Hussain (his grandson), the sacrifice was great: “Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial - and We ransomed him with a great sacrifice” Quran 37:106-107
Worthy is the lamb who was slain…

Obviously, most scholars were born Muslims. But you are right that when someone converts to Islam, they go through a unique process. They do not carry the baggage of someone who was born Muslim. Their different background and experience help them look at things differently. The challenges of the conversion experience make them study their new religion more.

@@marcorolo4726 Dear brother,
Let 's put aside this particular thread to focus on the issue, rather than certain individuals.
It is pretty clear that Prophet Isa is coming back according to the prophet Mohammed and I believe the Quran.
You are right. Omayr Farag below has clarified it rightly.
And this war between Ukraine and Russia won’t drag very long
Salam Dr Louai Fatoohi.
Did the brother just deny authentic hadith because he said it is not in the quran
And our Opinion is as under:*
1- Brother Fatoohi has defined Arabic Word of Quran "Ghaib" as unknown history but we think, meaning of word Ghaib in Quran is: those things which are beyond the perception of human beings, and only God knows those events. We read in Quran 2:3 ٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْغَيْبِ وَيُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَـٰهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ "Who believe in [the existence of] that *which is beyond the reach of human perception,* and are constant in prayer, and spend on others out of what We provide for them as sustenance;" (Asad) ---- Note: Salat never means: Prayers or Rituals
2- In First Gospel, Gospel of Mark of 4th Century, we do not see any hoax of Ascension and Return of Jesus nor any fable of Virgin Birth.
Even Book of Church Father Irenaeus (died 202 CE) shows that Jesus lived to the era of Roman Emperor Trajan who died in 117 CE
5- Theory of Substitution was spread by Agnostic Christian groups which was later infused in Hadith Books.
Tabari writes that God told Jesus to immigrate to other countries, so Jesus was roaming from one Country to other country*
6- Suffering: God tests even his true Servants. Prophets of God John the Baptist and Zakria were mudded. So nailing of Jesus on Cross is not a strange and exceptional suffering.
7- Let Dr. Louay Fatoohi realize that Majority is not a benchmark of being Right, Truth can be standing alone
We suggest to read our Pages on the Life of Jesus
8 - you're still wrong.

Jesus p.b.u.h laid his face on the floor and prayed similar to how we muslims pray he believed in the 1 true god the God of adam, abraham moses and prophet muhhamed the final messanger ...Jesus spoke of his coming in the gospels ...they prayed to Jesus thats why God sent one final messanger ....
Jesus Christ predicted his own death and resurrection three times in the Gospel.
Mark 8:31-33
31 Then he began to teach them that the Son of Man must undergo great suffering, and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. 32 He said all this quite openly. And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. 33 But turning and looking at his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said, “Get behind me, Satan! For you are setting your mind not on divine things but on human things.”
Jesus denied he will die OUTSIDE JERUSALEM (Luke 13:33). Hebrew 5:7 supports his claim.
The crucified victim was killed OUTSIDE JERUSLAME.
If that so why his deciples didn't wait for him to come back at 3rd day or were worried??
@@Khanraine The way it is described by Mark 8:31-33 proves the story is gotten from hearsay.

I think it was a faltering not to also include the Jewish sources in this discussion
But according to Christianity , Jesus asked God to save him from the crucifixion :
Matthew 26:39
[39] Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”
and yet , HE DID NOT RECEIVE.
Matthew 27:46
[46] About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lemasabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”).

I think the events around jesus' supposed crucifixion were so ambiguous (30-60ad) that the early people didn't have many rumours to go by; just that jesus was crucified but it was in fact jesus barabbas (most people probably didn't know this), couple that with the fact that 3 days later the disciples say jesus visited them and told them he didn't die, it only compounds the ambiguity (that undead jesus after the expected crucifixion was retrospectively transformed into a dying rising christ due to the confirmation bias of messianic pharisaic jews).

There are three scholars acknowledging this, one grudgingly: Gunnar Samuelsson, John Granger Cook, and David Tombs.
what is gospel of matthew, mark, luke, john we bileve in gospel of jesus not gospel of mark, luke, matthew, john who didnot even write there own book
