I think Kiko just had enough of touring and playing pretty much the same stuff for years. He has enough money to spend time with his family and do his own music. He doesn't need Megadeth. Teemu on the other hand hit a jackpot and is more than grateful for the opportunity to gain recognition.
The way he talked about Kiko was disrespectful. But that's Dave, he's always like that. I gotta be honest, I've been a Kiko fan since the Angra days, but Teemu suits Megadeth so well. The guy just nails every damn solo, even Kiko's.
Such a neat interview. Amazing.

He's like Richie Blackmore (Rainbow), just going through different band members.
Kiko is pretty much fired from Megadeth, Dave is just waiting for the best moment to make it official. He's already dismissing Kiko's talent as a metal guitarrist and is actively praising new guitarrist Teemu like the best one they ever had in the band, just like Dave always does.
I said that when Dystopia came out. Dave said Kiko was the best guitarist Megadeth ever had. He also said that about Chris Broderick and many others

Dave low key dissing Kiko.
Dave ALWAYS disses the former members and says the current guy is THE BEST EVER. That's just Dave. I'm sure the guys know the history of the band and understand that they could be out on the street any second. I think it's really more a prestige gig anyways. Kiko has said in interviews that he only gets paid when he's on tour or in the studio and that he needs other sources of revenue, so it's not like he's making bank or anything.
Well he's not happy about not having him.
Don't think it was lo key at all.....Dave is just a miserable fkn dude. Imagine having to deal with him everyday
@@gringochucha But I mean nobody can really hold a candle to Chris Poland or Friedman in the grand scheme of things. They pretty much hit the jackpot with those 2 line ups and never lived up to it again.
@@maplesalt1482 Absolutely. In terms of originality and creativity, Poland and Friedman are on a different level compared to any other Megadeth guitarist.
Kiko does come in pretty close though. His solos on Angra's two first albums are all masterpieces, but his style isn't as distinctive as Chris or Marty.
But yeah, the lead guitar playing of Poland and Friedman are a huge part of the Megadeth legacy.

Kiko was 16 on tour. Dave don't know what he talks about. Kiko is Metal AND so much stuff, Dave is limited.

Why does it sound like Dave is going to fire Kiko?
A month ago it was Kiko is so good, our chemistry, we're friends blah, blah... not to mention that Megadeth was understanding that he needed to take a sabbatical. Sounds more like, you jump out of the queue and you lose your place.
I hope Kiko comes back, and that's absolutely nothing against the current guy who is a great player... but kiko is another level IMO.
Kiko played the same kind of solos for most of the songs in the new album. Teemu is very similar to Marty.
Mike Portnoy did the same thing in Dream Theater and they moved on. #Life
We're yet to find out, Dave likes his guys to be married with children. Not sure about Teemu.

Teemu Mäntysaari can play the kiko songs and solos but he can´t and will not achieve the same level and versatility of creation that kiko have, Kiko it´s another level of Guitar player!

Dave is always talking shit about someone or something. He is a fucking genius songwriter but he seems to have a problem getting along with people and never got over the fact that Metallica reached success he will never know. I cant imagine how hard it was for James and Lars to get along with a drunk teenage Dave, dude is like sixty and still cant get along with anyone he is in a band with.
Kiko is a superbadass megadeth bores him he is way more better than that it holds him back he came in learned martys and chris's shit like a champ put his own stuff in on the new stuff and one can only work with dave for so long so they say.we love u kiko and u 2 dave .and u still blow Metallica away
The new guy has his roots in the Finnish NSBM scene, Kiko is latino and is only good at playing samba. Mustaine wants black women to put a plug on it as he stated a few years back.
