It was called Rinse and hold. In other words, if you were busy, you could clear the table clear the counter put the dishes in the dishwasher but may be there. It’s only a half a load or maybe it’s only a third of a load hit rinse and hold they are easily washed later when you finish with dinner dishes. We used it often. It’s a great feature.
I watched a video showing how to clean the filter basket on my GE Profile Dishwasher. All went well but after putting it back together and starting the machine there is a grinding noise in the pump motor area. Not sure how anything could have gone down there and into the impeller but something happened. Any ideas? Thanks
If it has a short wash, we could use that instead although it will take longer rinse and hold was just a few minutes of rinsing the dishes off and GEO is always had a soft food waste disposer so it would go ahead and rinse the dishes and any peas or carrots, or anything that was left on the plates would absolutely go through the dishwasher and out the drain and it would wait for the dinner dishes if that was lunch dishes
I just cleaned my filter & see where there is standing dirty water in the filter assembly. Two questions - is this normal? if not, how do I drain the water out?
I have hard water. I get rust on my stainless steel knives only. I read that dishwasher salt can help with this. Where would I add the salt in this model of my GE.
Hi there. We are seeing some instances of this dishwasher causing countertops to delaminate from the particle board style countertop which is glued down and pressed in place. Can you think of a cause for this? I assume the steam is exhausting from the top of the machine?
@@TopHomeowner good. We decided to have ours installed without them after trying to use them and not being able to push it all the way into place. Looked less “finished” with them than without them.
We just had an issue where the diverter valve got stuck so it wasn't cleaning. The fix was removing the lower spray arm (twist and pull up) then we stuck a screwdriver in the hole to dislodge the ball that was stuck in place. Once we did that we ran a dishwasher cleaner through it and it's working great again. Not sure if this is your issue but I wanted to share!
Has anyone been able to figure out how to install the "second" rack? What I would call the top rack with the exception of the very small utensil rack. Ours came with it not connected and I have been unable to locate a video to install it.

How do I put the silicone high temp plug BACK into the water filter. When I was cleaning the filter it came out.

Is there a way to turn off the "STEAM" cycle? it is melting items and making our clear plastic cups cloudy? Thanks

In my experience there will always be a small amount of water that remains in the filter area
Every time I use it, it runs for 2 or more hours!!?
I need to know how to open to get the top rack out. I may have to replace the top wand.

There isn't a salt tank on this model, so you would need to use a detergent that's formulated for hard water.
@@TopHomeowner thanks 🙏

It does generate a lot of steam, but it's contained unless you open the door
I’m trying to figure out how to open the area to add the rinse agent. I don’t want to break anything
Assuming they haven't changed the design, you just have to pull up on the tab and the cover will swing up and open
Can’t get dry boost to work. Dishes are very wet after washing completed. How do I fix this?
Try a software update.
My GE profile displays "Washing" all the time....even after the cycle is completed....always displays "Washing"....Help?
How did it work out leaving the trim pieces off? Are they necessary?
No issues. They are only included to help make the dishwasher quieter
