I don't think this qualifies as a 'hack' buddy, it's just proper technique! That's how you're taught from day one if you were to take a class. Good job:)
Sadly I saw NO ice this season due to covid (which was very painful), but: the technique shown is not THAT crucial on easy ice like in this video. You can get away with a lot less. In harder ice WI5 and above, you simply HAVE to climb like this (triangle, feet even, good swing) to climb safely. If you don't you'll get pumped like hell and (hopefully not) fall off. It is not as much a 'hack' as it is the ONLY correct way to climb steep ice.
A lot of good tips! Side note: Ergonomic is really not the best tool for easy ice, go with the Quark or the Nomic
