Great video! Do note: In observance of the Holy Week (spanning from April 2 to April 8), most of the city residents went to the province to either go home or in a vacation to beaches and resorts outside the metro. That could explain why the city looks so barren and desolate and pretty much everything will return to its status quo ante by Monday next week. Do enjoy your stay!

Also, I notice in your vlogs, you let small-time vendors keep the change. It's a very kind gesture and great example to people who are more blessed than others.

The very reason why cities in Philippines are so crowded and so much traffic! It’s because most people from the provinces specially young adult will come to the cities to look for work or go to universities for college. So the Big cities becoming compact and people live in the city not bothered by traffic, people because they’re used to a kind of life. Filipinos do adopt and adjust well. Patience and perseverance also attributed to that kind of way. Be safe and have fun.

The prime city of Cebu province is of course Cebu, the oldest founded capital in the Philippines !

I've been to Cebu 8 or 9 times and spent about 80 days total there, The last time was in July 2019, The "Cebuano" language is also called Visayan (after the Visayan Islands, which Cebu is one of) and/or Bisayan. It is also spoken in Mindanao and other central Philippine islands. My wife is from Ilocos Sur Province on Northern Luzon; she speaks Tagalog and her local dialect, but not Bisayan. Magellan was a Portugese explorer in the early 1500s. He made it to Cebu on his quest to sail around the world, but was killed by a Filipino chieftan named Lapu Lapu, near where Lapu Lapu City is located on Mactan Island. I guess all that remains of Magellan are a few pieces of his cross and the story is they are part of Magellan's "Cross". I loved Cebu and Davao, Manilla, not so much, but I didn't stay in BGC, but Ermita, Malate, Paco Park and near the MOA. I miss the PI, but can no longer travel there except throigh your vlogs and the vlogs of others. Thank you for sharing your journies. Don't forget to try the lechon kawali (roast pork) or sizzling sissig (sizzling pork made from pigs cheeks - outstanding!).

We rarely have the big, colorful jeepneys in Cebu, we have the more practical jeepneys more from Japanese cars mor than the American jeepneys, and even these are in dangered, being replaced by beeps or those big air-conditioned buses. Colon is the oldest street in the Philippines, the area is the older part of the city, plenty of Chinese businesses, similar to Binondo.

Tagalog is NOT the traditional Filipino language. Cebuano is spoken in both two islands, Mindanao and Visayas. In Luzon, there are millions of Filipinos from Mindanao and Visayas, in short, Cebuano or Bisaya is spoken more, than Tagalog. Cebuano is also a better language because it is not repetitive, unlike Tagalog.

Tagalog is NOT the traditional language, rather it was made the National language by the Cory Aquino regime, hence the downfall of the spoken English language. The traditional languages come into around 110 languages and dialects. Commenters here seem to confuse traditional and national which is wrong. Tagalog is just another language made official by the darn Aquino regime and that's a fact. The Bongbong Administration is now returning English as the MAIN language and back to a language priority.

The lukay you bought is blessed in palm Sunday. We used to keep those in our doors to fend off evil. Giving it away is kind of weird bordering on sacrilagios.

the jeepney you rode on isn't the "traditional" jeepney but filipinos call it jeepneys anyways because it serves the same purpose...
the original jeepneys from ww2 were actually just standard american jeeps with extended rear area, so the size was smaller than the modern traditional jeepneys...
i don't think there are surviving original ww2 custom jeeps anymore today...
all the traditional jeepneys (that still look like jeeps) now you'd see in the manila area are custom made and fabricated from scratch with engines coming from japan mostly...
the ones you see in your video are japanese light trucks converted to serve like a jeepney...
