Hi Mr ranger, thanks for the nice video, my question please are: 1. How many quarts does an 08 Odyssey trans need for the fluid replacement? 2. Did you need to jack up the front end, and what location if you did? Thanks
@@MrRangerZr1 I've just done this yesterday, thanks for your support. Please my question is did your trans need exactly 4 quarts to get to the right level between the lower and top holes on the dipstick? I had put in 3.5 quarts of the new oil back into the trans because this was what I got out, I had measured what I got out by putting it back into the old bottles from the new fluid. I'm surprised that after I put in the exact amount of what I got out, I still can't see the fluid on the dipstick at all. Did you put in all 4 quarts of yours please?
Dude, I have a 2007 Honda Odyssey and I can't find where the transmission's external oil filter is located. I have seen several videos from 2002 to 2006, and it does not have it on the same site. Can you help me with that please
On the ATF drain plug washer I ordered from the Honda dealership one side is flat the other side is slightly beveled, can you please tell me which side goes toward the drain plug and which side goes towards the transmission or does it not matter?
What does it mean if there's a slight leak around one of the bolts? Fluid is not leaking on the ground, but there's a buildup of fluid around one of the bolts. I'll wipe it off and then over time fluid will build back up around the bolt, but I've never noticed any fluid on the ground. Thoughts?
Thank you much for your video; as usual concise and right to the point. Quick question: I have a 2010 Honda Odyssey with 112K miles; I did my first drain(cold trans) 3 weeks ago and the amount of fluid that came out was little less than 3.5 qts; I replaced with the same new fluid. I did my second drain last night and the transmission was slightly warm and the fluid that came out was exactly 4 qts and it was a bit hot. I filled the same amount and the dip stick shows the level a bit higher than the second dot. Do I drain the excess or keep it that way? What do you recommend? TIA
Did I miss it or did you leave it out? Checking the fluid level in a Honda Odyssey is different than checking on an America car. In the Odyssey, you run the engine until the fan comes on and then you turn the engine OFF and check the level on the dipstick. I'm pretty sure that's what Google told me. Otherwise, a perfect instructional video. If a picture is worth a thousand words then why talk with a video. Just show what needs to be done. Excellent.
This video is on the north american model odysseys, International odysseys are different but same process more or less. But yes that's how you check the fluid.
@@MrRangerZr1 thanks for info. Plz confirm how many milage should i run on every transmission fluid change ?? Today i changed Valvoline ATF Full Synthatic and its good my car is smooth.

Wow. That engine bay looks brand new. Thx for the video
Was about to say this too lol
Pretty self explanatory. Thanks for the video.

You'll need 4 quarts and jack up the front end.

It’s internal. The brought it back outside in 2011+ 6 speeds. Video on the channel.
Thanks for your help friend.
On the ATF drain plug washer I ordered from the Honda dealership one side is flat the other side is slightly beveled, can you please tell me which side goes toward the drain plug and which side goes towards the transmission or does it not matter?
Doesn't really matter. I like the beveled side facing the threads of the bolt

Which bolts are leaking?
Do you replace the filter too? Where is it located?
There is a filter you can access on the 05-06 but the 07-10 doesn't have an accessible filter. Video of the 05-06 filter is on my channel.
Hi Ranger, refresh my mind. Do I need to warm up the van before doing the drain and fill? Thanks
Hey whats up. You should warm it up. I bring it up to operating temp and then burn myself lol
@@MrRangerZr1 perfect right on time brother. Thanks for the quick response.
What did you do today
@@MrRangerZr1 came out pretty good and thank you for asking, but now I found out a leak from the rear valve cover, that I replaced resently.
recheck the bolts

A hair over the top level shouldn't hurt anything as long it's not way over filled.
Good vid!!

Very helpful, preciatcha!!!
do you need to replace the filter too or dont have too?
Filter is internal.
There is one under the air filter box

only 05-06 has a filter. 07-10 has internal filter.
Where can I get the fill plug washer?

Oil and atf have different drain and fill ports.
How do you keep it so clean? :) Good job.
I just clean it regularly, I don't neglect it.
He probably lives down south. No snow to form rust.
How much quantity for 2009 Honda Odyssey Exl

Soo no filter ? Just drain and fill system nice !!
Yes just drain and fill. To access filter you need to remove the transmission.
Is the drain plug washer same size as fill plug washer?
No. The ATF fill plug washer is bigger.
