Not always. But even he has his limits as shown here. He has done some pretty juvenile things in the episodes and comics.
@@cammy85 He might be the best bro around but he'sa still a teen and just like everyone he's not perfect but he sure as hell what's the right thing to do and when to do or stop. Like the episode where spike was part of a gang and Robbie wanted to join in and he was afraid if Robbie has what it takes do be part of the gang and when things went south he choose his friend over the gang.
One thing I definitely remember from this episode was the ending. Aftet the story was over, Robbie walks past tge crew "working" on the show, who say that episode got "preachy". And Robbie was like, "It sure was!" And then tells the audience not to do drugs, or they will have to keep making episodes like this one. So if you don't want PSA sitcoms, don't do drugs.

I’m pretty sure that was the episode where they would eat a special plant that made them feel “happy.” Not from this episode.
That ending was from the episode with edible marijuana leaves (“A New Leaf”). It is the best anti drug episode ever in the history of sitcoms.

He's that rare blend of dirt-bag and super loyal that makes for a perfect best friend. He also got Rob and Earl hooked on "the plant" aka drugs.

Jeez they din't have to wipe them out for the finale. Dinosaurs were alive for millions of years before they went extinct. They've literally been on Earth longer than humans have.

it has not aged well...
It absolutely hasn't aged well, this is from a time when left wing political messages were a bit more subtle. I mean, that dark finale where they all died due to man/dino made environmental disaster could use a few more sermons, like Day After Tomorrow had.
Girl Buu well a lot of sitcoms back then really havent aged well and a lot of them regardless of political messages, whether they be right wing or left wing, were preachy and up their own ass. Killing off your characters in the very last scene really is something.
No sitcom ages well. Many of the ones still airing are already pretty rancid, and they don't try to force any kind of moral. Which is fine, I don't need Big Bang Theory or Two and a Half Men trying to teach me life lessons, I am glad for the large part they don't. Also when I Love Lucy decided Lucy and Ricky should sleep in different beds they didn't draw attention to it and tell you sexuality is bad. It was ridiculous, but they weren't trying to hammer wholesome 1950s values into your head with a sledge hammer, even if it was there subtly.
And yeah, killing off all the characters in a show obviously targeting small children is awesome. I am not being sarcastic. It helped me grow up and accept loss. But at least Dinosaurs had a grimdark ending on purpose. Alf thought they could squeeze out one more season if they ended on a cliff hanger. They couldn't.
This show was so far ahead of its time, shame it was cancelled.

All the dinosaurs have names taken from oil companies. The family is the Sinclair Family which is literally a gasoline brand with a dinosaur for a logo.

“Dinosaurs” was fun, but it was kind of a dark show. I think they did an episode where the baby gets demon-possessed. Another episode had an environmental message where Earl physically becomes a tree, and no one can hear his cries for help. Watching as a little kid, that shit creeped me the fuck out

This episode actually made me somewhat sad because Robbie was such a really sweet character it was hard to see him be such an asshole. But it gave me a new appreciation for his buddy Spike.
