  • This title seems dangerously close to getting me a channel strike.
Anyways, just a few thoughts on the bike after my trip on the Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail.

Nice video. I like your style, no need to spend bank on fancy pants expensive luggage, just get 'er done 😆
I have a '23 701 Enduro with the O2 sensor dongle and a PC 6 from Rottweiler, running a Yosh R77 exhaust with a spark arrestor insert. I started with just the O2 dongle and Yosh and it was good - much better than stock. Then I added the PC6 and experienced a night and day difference in power and response, the soft feeling super lean low end on the newer bikes is filled in big time, and even though I live in thin air land Denver, it will no clutch needed throttle up wheelie in 3rd at 50 MPH if ya spin the throttle aggressively. Set up this way, my 701 would be mental at sea level.
In stock form it felt luggy at 50 MPH in 6th gear. Now it can slow down to 35 and a touch of throttle has it snarling forward smooth and hard. It can literally pull from 35 to 110 in 6th gear, which is admittedly ridiculous, but lets face it, a 693cc high performance off road capable thumper is ridiculous to begin with. The exhaust note out the cannon length Yosh R77 can even sounds a lot better with the PC6, definitely buttery smooth and deeper than the somewhat "blatty" note it had before. I wear Earpeace earplugs when I ride for the wind noise, the Yosh exhaust note is perfect - I can hear it over the wind which is nice as the new bikes don't have a tach. It is not loud unless on the gas hard then ya, it gets pretty loud, but it is a badass big thumper sound and a smooth tone.
The best thing about the newer bikes is the suspension update, the XPLOR forks and shock are firm, controlled and amazingly good in tougher off road terrain at surprising speeds for a motorcycle that is this heavy. To be honest, I wish the GASGAS version could come without the map switch, ABS and traction control, since I always have them turned off and it is always set to the "Fun" map 2 anyway. If that was the case I would have gone red instead of white to save some cash, weight and complexity.

For the 2019+ model the wings exhaust and EFI tuner are the quickest way to an improved low and midrange.

I put the Yoshimura R77 on my 690 and installed the included spark arrester. It’s louder than the stock exhaust but I like it. I wonder how it compares to the wings exhaust? I did the Rottweiler fueling dongle and switched to a Twin air foam filter at the same time and it really helped with the jerky throttle response. The 690 is quickly becoming my favorite bike that I own

Another well narrated and voice "overed" video.
I just put in the silent kit on my Wings exhaust and it is now much quieter. At first with only the smallest db insert I found it okay, it was until I put the stock on for testing I realized how nice it is to have a quiet exhaust.

I just want it to be a little quieter, but not too quiet. I'd still rather hear the exhaust than all the mechanical noise from the bike and I think the quiet dB killer should be just right for me.
Even with the full silent kit installed, your bike still sounded much nicer than stock. I'm glad it seemed to help with the jerky throttle a little bit.

Hehe yeah exactly, now I can hear all the loose bolts and nuts in the tower, and the engine that sounds like a broken dishwasher 😁
Thanks, that did make a difference and I’m happy with how it is now.

Nice review. I recently got a 2017 690R, still need to get out and put it to the test. Mine came with the Seat Concepts and it’s pretty good, can’t compare to stock since it came this way. What’s your next big purchase for the bike?

Congrats on the purchase! You're gonna love it!
As for upgrades, it's hard to say. I might make a poll to see what everyone thinks. I'm considering the seat, a baja designs headlight, or a set of twin pegs.
