- The Superman production company donated this special 18 minute episode to the US Treasury to help promote school stamp day savings plans to children. This is the only episode of the series that has entered the public domain. It features all of the hallmarks that made the original 1950s Superman series so memorable.
Never seen this episode before. I used to watched it on WWOR-TV (channel 9) back in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s when they ran this show. It was usually ran on WPIX-TV (channel 11) back in the 1960’s and 1970’s, and it was released on VHS as “Stamp Day for Superman” along with “Secret Agent”, the final “Superman” cartoon for Paramount from 1943 when it was under Famous Studios with reissue titles. I hope if Warner Archive should be releasing the complete 1953-57 TV series on DVD, Blu-Ray or digital platform, it will have a bonus feature that includes a fully restored print of “Stamp Day for Superman” which is going to be digitally remastered for HD or 4K. I hope it might happen.
This was primarily seen at school assemblies, usually followed by a "live" pitch by the principal (or another prominent member of the faculty) for "saving stamps". Billy Nelson appears as "Blinky"; Tris Coffin is "Mr. Garwin".
I remember these episodes from my youth.

Haha! Funny! I like Superman telling these kids to have a Super Future! LOL This was made when? 1954? Some of these guys are like 10 to 12 years old so...they would be about 69 to 71 years old, now! lol Some Super Future!! The future, now the present, is a mess! lol
