Donations to my PayPal account dantas.pedrodantas@gmail.com are much appreciated, thanks for watching! I DO NOT own anything, I am only sharing rare hard to find films for entertainment.
I am a 43 year old woman who was first introduced to “The Classics” while in Jr. high school by my grandma. My childhood was a blessed one but so easily I was immersed in these films while watching with her. To this day they are still my favorite. Thank you for being a part of keeping them alive!!
What a sweet thought!
I am so glad you had that lovely experience with your grandmother
@@marvinabigby5509 Thank you! I am so blessed to still have my grandma to enjoy these classics with! 😊
57 and perfer the classics also. I was a late night teenager who found them on 1 of 3 channels that seemed to be on until 2 a.m., LOL!
I'm 43 as well and I've always loved these films as well. Very young for them but I love the detail and how they relax me
It’s a chilly morning in Nov 2023 and there’s no place I’d rather be- curled up in bed watching some black and white classics.
Good times.
It’s December 2023 Christmas Day for me and I’m under the covers watching the old black and whites from the 1940s.
It’s the 29th day of February, 2024, and here I am way over in Japan .. on a cold night - tucked in my warm bed, watching some dear black & white classics 🍿
@@uk7900you three need to get a job!
Fred MacMurray was a great actor. And what witty dialogue and plot twists. A treat!
He and John Wayne had two of Hollywood's most convincing hairpieces.
Hard to believe. It sure looked natural!@@tonypanzarella9387
1930s. Just so enjoyable also. Thanks to who ever shares. God Bless
Nursing Homes should put these on for some of the elderly. I'm certain they would enjoy. Of course if they are able. God Bless. Enjoy.

Great idea.
P m o b I've never heard anybody called the 1930s enjoyable. During the Great Depression which lasted from 1929 until 1945 there were many natural disasters compounding the economic disaster which ruined many families especially farming families across the plains.
I have no idea what you're thinking of when you think of the 1930s
IDK my grandparents were newly married, agaiñst the wishes of my great grandpa as he felt my grandpa would not amount to anything , be able to take care of my grandma, there they were, newlyweds, living in a car on his dad's land, gathering scrap wood from the local dump, parents to newborn twins ! Built a one room home out of scraps , BOTH of them hammering, sawing. Scrap tar paper roof, straw insulation, cooking outside, there were no social programs. Nor family helping as attitude was pull up your boot straps. Yet never heard grandma & grandpa complain. They spoke of hard work yet in sense of look at what we accomplished. !! The 30's YES were VERY hard for so many ! Heard MANY elders in my family speak of the hardship, yet, as if also, their take, was a " blessing" ? Of sorts in that they turned it into what they became . Grandpa got work thru the govt program came thru working to hand build roads as were no heavy equipment as today for roadwork. Grandma took in sewing, canned & ade jams for working people so she could stay home , raising 5 kids, buried one as now known within family is a genetic issue. They added on to the one room to inhouse plumbing , 2 bedrooms , a bath, kitchen living & dining areas. They got & kept a FORD model T on the road, farmed with his dad & mom until they were both called home . That house is stilstanding . Last time it sold , went for $240K with now just enough acreage . The farmette has been long gone . They were able to travel for a week to Hawaii , have a beyond small trailer at the lake, building on & on. Proud people . Nope was far from fun or glam in the 1930's for them or just about all ¡ !! I doubt my grandparents or elders ever stepped foot into a movie theater to enjoy to be honest ! They are now at rest. Left behind wisdom , advice . Tons of memories. The love & appreciation of these old school B & W movies. Worked in LTC // SNF I agree that the residents would enjoy watching, appreciate, tell some amazing stories of back in the day ! Not many left from that era now ! Soon it will be just us grandkids to pass on their stories . Movies bring out so many good memories 😊❤
@@desertodavid although times were hard - they were good. People learned to be happy in their circumstances. they were not easy, but relying on God got many people through the times without losing all hope.
It’s so magical to read how we are all remembering watching these old movies. I will be 70, I loved all the movies and I too would watch “The Old Movies” I loved the fashion, I adored the stories…..I designed clothing professionally, and lived a great life with stories as a model.
After Sunday service while we ate dinner, we would watch movies like this one. Brings back warm memories of all us kids living at home.
Thank you for your efforts and your work so that people like me can enjoy the movies that you upload!!
My pleasure! 😊
Watch A POISON PEN!! IT'S REALLY GOOD.
Ditto 👌
Many thanks from me too. Love these old films, brilliant.
@@raresilentsandtalkies many thanks, I love these old films.
Im 68 in 2023. My granma used to watch " black & white" movies every saturday. Best memory watching with her. Im obcessed with close to 100 yo movies
Oh I thought I was running out of them . Thanks for letting me see more cheers.
I am 76years old and love these classics
I love these films even though my children want to see the latest movies brought out I still watch them!
Am showing the best of this cinematic period to mixed gender 26 yearolds once a fortnight. They absolutely love them.
They actually prefer them to the ones they get dished up at cinemas today.
Which is an indictment.
Find that *very* telling about the 'pu$hy' psychology of modern cinema today.
Today's menu is not the level of entertainment the studios think it is.
It's a fair degree of Xbox CGI'd Up for the big screen.
The post view discussion is inspiring.
Who'd have thought it.
Well, We did.
Thank you for uploading this. I’ve seen hundreds of comedies from the 1930s and 40s, but I had never seen this one! It gave me some enjoyable distraction and soothing in the middle of the night when I couldn’t sleep. I love these old movies and never tire of them.
Me too .
I saw this movie when I was a young man an now I'm old and grateful for these classic movies that are still around.
Like a bat borrowing blood.... That line cracked me up
Great casting and fun story well acted. Paulette was such a doll. Thanks for posting.
Thank you ! Love Fred Macmurray😊
I adore the 1940 films!!!
MacDonald Cary & Fred Mc Murry are Wonderful in this movie !! 🤣🤣
Oh, this is gold! I bet it was controversial back in 1947, but still holds true today...
I love this!❤ Fred McMurray was one of a kind! I had never seen this movie before. I'm so glad that I came across it. I enjoyed every minute! Thank you so much for sharing!❤🙏💫
Great movie!!! I always liked Fred McMurray and Paulette Goddard. I don't remember this one, so I'm so glad to have been able to see it! 👍😄
I don’t ever remember seeing this one. Very enjoyable in this crazy age
Always interesting to see the earlier life of Steve Douglas.
Thanks for making these movies available ....so wonderful to watch these gorgeous movies a package after all...im so lucky ..my evenings r enjoyable with these movies 🎉🎉
Lilian Fontaine, playing here the protagonist's mother, is also the real mother of two other famous movie stars: Olivia de Havilland and Joan Fontaine!
(For me, the two sisters do not look alike, only I'm glad there's a glimpse of each one in the portrait of their mother 😊)
They are the best movies, the best stories, the best actors, the best performances and the best English ever spoken.
Thank you very much.
I only saw "My 3 Sons" and this was a new dimension of Fred MacMurray. Thank you!
If you like Fred Macmurray you might try watching Double Indemnity, his only "bad guy" roll. Cain Mutiny is another great movie he's in.
McMurray was at the height of his fame when he made the film Double Indemnity. One of his fans stopped him, on the street I believe and was upset about the film. Said she always took her daughter to his films and was aghast that it was a murder mystery. He refused to take anymore villain roles after that encounter.
You’re missing out if this is the only Fred mc murray movie you’ve seen. You need to watch murder he says, the egg and I, and the best one of all Double Indemnity.
Did you know he was a singer?
@@saran3214 No I didn't. Doesn't surprise me though, a lot of actors back then were multi talented
@@saran3214 No. That is amazing! 🌹
What a wonderful movie I really enjoyed it…
We share the same interest. I remember seeing MacMurray in Disney movies as a child "Follow Me Boys" comes to mind. And then, of course, "My Three Sons". I read once that he had one of the largest studio contracts for an actor. Thanks for sharing. Liked and SUBSCRIBED!
"The Absent Minded Professor," is still wonderful, too. Adore Fred MacMurray!
Yes, agree!@@angelabluebird609
A fantasy film, taking place in an imaginary world where it is indeed possible for someone to be married to Paulette Goddard and to even entertain the thought of replacing her with another woman.
But in the real world, Charles Chaplin did just that.
Absolutely positively without any doubt loved this movie. Thank you so very much.
"I wish I were like you; it'd be so easy to kill myself" had me on the floor. So many great lines, and delivered so perfectly!
Loved this show ! Wonderful people in it .
Can't believe that evening dress of Paulette's got by the censors!
McMurray's acting abilities really came to the fore when he switched into the obnoxious husband character to alienate his wife.
Fred McMurray put in an amazing performance in the Caine Mutiny. He's quite an accomplished actor.
@@mitchflorida Hey, thanks for telling us something we already know.
@Dean Ronson huh? Not everyone has seen that great movie. It was a stellar performance.
Great movie so funny😂😂😂
Thank you so much for sharing this awesome movie with us ❤
The CLASSICS are the all round BEST 😊
Another good old romantic comedy that I had never heard of. Fred Mac Murray does some good pratfalls. You Tube is awesome. Thanks for uploading this. Don't know why it's called " Suddenly It's Spring " though.
Because with Spring comes new love.
aww Absolutely lovely 🥰.. classics are the best !
One of my faves!
great movie.
Paulette Goddard, a great actress🎥
Frank Faylen was the nurse Bim in Lost Weekend. He was also in It's a wonderful life .
My daughter refused to watch the old black and white movies until she saw Casa Banca.
McDonald Carey here is fabulous.
Thanks for the movie 🎬 🎞 🎥 🎦 📽
I read in one of Barbara Stanwyck's bios that MacMurray hated love scenes and demanded they be shot first. He also brought his own lunch with him. Usually hard boiled eggs in a brown paper bag!
I loved this minute! Thank you!❤
MacMurray was very good in Double Indemnity. Barbara Stanwyck made him positively _sizzle._
Very funny.
Thank you
Fred McMurray was the exact opposite of the philandering character he plays in this film.
It's hard to watch adultery being treated so casually.
It's deeply emotionally and spiritually damaging, not only to the couple involved, but to everyone around them...family, friends, coworkers, etc. It negatively impacts everyone it touches to some degree.
So very very true. My family is suffering because someone we trusted did this.
He sure was. He was a great person with ethics. I loved watching his movies and My Three Sons. Wonderful man
@@barbaram5787 I’m sorry to see this. It does involve the entire family regardless of what the couple feels. Very selfish of them, not to mention laziness for not working on the marriage. People think just changing partners is the answer. Not true
@@cbass2755
You are wrong in your comment. They went to marriage counseling for a year. The betrayer doesn't want to accept what he did and instead is blaming his wife for every little thing he can. Tearing her down so she can barely function. She has not been lazy about their marriage at all. And though he cheated it had nothing to do with wanting someone else.
@@barbaram5787 I just went by your comment. I’m glad they tried.
At 48:00 Nice to see Frank Faylen, father on "Dobie Gillis" show. Always gave a good performance.
Lost Weekend.

I'm NOT a fan of goofy Fred MacMurray,
But I am a fan of Paulette Goddard .
Same!
GOOFY character here indeed, however he nails it! Probably the best acting I've seen from him on a film.
Nice movie 🍿🎥
On my fav Fred MacMurray was the Egg n I with Claudette Colbert maybe it show up on utube
Love me some Paulette Goddard! Always a slinky foxy woman in her movies no matter the plot.
Nice ❤
She may have been in love with her husband but the other guy was better for her.
I liked the other guy.
I agree! She should’ve moved on lol
Super CUTE MOVIE 🎥🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿😜🍿
I used to watch my three sons everyday now my cable dropped the channel sadly
Watch them on utube! I do. And Pluto tv
Suddenly It's Spring (1947) Turner Classic Movies
Really like watching these old black and white movies, especially with the lovely Paulette Goddard in them. Not a fan of Fred MacMurray though. Still, enjoyed the movie. Joe S
After watching the movie, I wondered why he’d play a philandering husband. Now is see why. He never went thru the divorce, and stayed married. I wonder if that’s the reason he did the movie?
He probably did the film because he was under contract.
I'm just starting out with classics. Would love your recommendations! What are your favorites?
I hope there's a better copy out there, I appreciate these movies being made available but sometimes the copy is unwatchable.

Yes, I always thought so too.
Fred MacMurray made for TV...
Does not belong in feature movies.
pity the dialogue is out of sync
😉
This is War Propaganda film. look that word up if you do not know what that means.
Carey was never good at comedy.A thankless role.
This is supposed to be a comedy? I'm sorry, but there is nothing funny about divorce, even 1940s style...
You know, that Paulette Goddard sure was an attractive woman (for a girl). Fred MacMurray wern't not that pretty at all (bless his heart).
You're absolutely right......Good evening how are you doing over there hope you're having a wonderful day it's a lovely day that the lord has made
