Jennifer Aniston is also not too far away from her character.. fashionista, super-focused on looks, Schwimmer is also kinda away.. he´s not that nerdy and whiny i think.
All of the characters were written with the personality of their actors in mind, except the show increasingly got more absurd so by the end there is flanderization abound (Especially Joey). Matt LeBlanc seems the most different at first but he's admitted in interviews that he's rather slow, and that's where he got the idea of making Joey really dumb, Joey was not supposed to be so dumb just a little slow.
This is exactly why he got the part in Friends. The creators had a character in mind and went through hundreds of auditions and began to think their material wasn't funny. Then Matt Perry shows up, destined to be Chandler Bing.
I adore this man so much. I wish he aged a little better, but he still has that sweet smile and charm. If he were my age I'd be swooning over him big time.
