Note: "Brother Louie" was originally performed by Hot Chocolate. I am still on the lookout for their original version.
Warning: surface noise ahead! This was a well-loved, often-played, previously enjoyed 45... but for 50 cents, I just couldn't pass it up!

OldMusicOnVinyl1 is brought to you by my ventures, which you can explore in my channel's About section.
Let’s face it: Vinyl isn’t light on the pocket, and I’d be breaking copyright law if I generated ad revenue from these videos. If you enjoy these needledrops and need the funds to snap up some wax and/or turntable hardware, I can HELP you make your pocket-book ready at ANY time for purchases and upgrades.
Here’s how I do it. I’ve locked in some deals to make sure you get the best value out of your savings. These are investments and holdings I personally use.
When you purchase through these links, I also get a small kick-back, so I can get access to more equipment (and better equipment) and give you more informed and experienced reviews & recommendations - plus more cartridges, more turntables, more vinyl to “try before you buy” on RUclips.
Plus, these investments offer you a chance to diversify your vinyl savings and protect that hard-earned money - a crucial move in the current state of the economy.
CURRENT GOAL: I’ve been away from my equipment & collection for 3 years. I’m anxious to put together some wax & a hi-fi to keep giving you the good stuff. Your support means the world to me.
Together, we can continue to fuel our passion for all things vinyl - and make my & your experiences the best they can possibly be for the money. Want better sound? Less sibilance? Clearer tone? Check these out:

    *PRECIOUS METALS*
Vinyl is all about physics, and the conductivity of metals is sooo important to making sure that your music travels perfectly from stylus to speakers without signal loss. I am fascinated with the properties of different metals, and precious metals in particular. Gold and silver are beautiful, they’re a store of value, and they have wide industrial uses.
I put some of my holdings in gold and silver to protect my money, because of their historical stability. I’m of a buy-and-hold position, rather than the speculative buy-and-sell position, and this monthly savings plan makes it easy to accumulate holdings of precious metals.

On this day in 1973 {August 25th} the Stories' "Brother Louie" reached #1 in both the U.S.A. and Canada...
In America; it stayed at #1 for two weeks and spent 18 weeks on the Top 100...
On the Canadian RPM Top Singles chart it remained at #1 for three weeks...
Earlier in 1973 it was originally recorded by Hot Chocolate; their version reached #7 on the United Kingdom's Singles chart...

I bought this record because I liked the label and had never heard of Kama Sutra Records before. I really didn't know what was recorded on it, I was expecting some strange or novelty music...
When I played side 1 I was surprised to find out that it was actually an extremely well-known song! I never knew the title and neither did I really ever pay too much attention to it, but I had heard it many many times on the radio before. Huh.
I was even more surprised when I played side 2 and heard that it sounded absolutely nothing like side 1, and that it was actually a great song! Because of that part at 5:27 . It sounds so damn cool and it is *so* absolutely out of nowhere! This is a brilliant sound, whoever had the idea good job. You hear it a second time too. Really without that brilliance the song would be bland, generic, boring, not worth listening to.... But those two parts make the song definitely worth a listen and actually make me appreciate it. Too bad they couldn't have ended the song with that melody, it would've worked fantastic.

I have Hot Chocolate's version on LP. Very easy to come by over here. Never heard of this group before. There is some mean guitar work on this!

@Oldmusiconvinyl11 Thanks, The title gave me the assumption that it was some sort of greatest hits compilation. Thought that wouldn't make sense on a 45 single!

For whatever reason, the vocals on the Hot Chocolate version remind me of Everlast - specifically, his song with Santana.
Will be posting Stories' "About Us" album soon. Brother Louie actually sounds different from the rest of the songs on there. I hope you'll like the album, because I really enjoy it myself.
