Too many mistakes here---she did not live with her grandparents in St. Louis and the reference to 1967 at the beginning, should have been 1957.
I tapped out the moment they opened this “documentary” with an image of an actress playing Tina. There are so many actual photos and live recordings of the real TINA performing. Why not use one of those in a documentary about Tina? Does the creator of this not know the difference??
That wasn't an impersonator that was footage of Tina at the premiere of her Tina!: Musical and the footage you saw was the woman who Tina handpicked to play her for the stage play. It was one of three final projects Tina had completed on her life before she passed. 1. Her book My Love Story. 2. Her official documentary. 3. Tina stage play. She handled her legacy better than any star of her caliber who passed away she left no stone unturned.
Its interesting they say that it was strange for a black woman to sing Rock N’ Roll when black people invented Rock N’ Roll
