2025 I’m still listening. So glad my father had me listening to this music. I’m almost 65 years old, grew up listening to the giants of country music. I could name most of them on that stage. One stood out, Mr Eddie Arnold “Make the World Go Away” was one of my father’s favorite songs.
"Ray, it doesn't matter that I've never seen you. I know you're beautiful." Maybe we can all learn something from two men who couldn't see with their physical eyes and had to see with their hearts instead. Because of this, they were able to see beyond the differences that they had and they saw that they were not really all that different at all. They were able to love one another because they looked beyond the superficial. That was a truly beautiful moment to me.
Ronnie wrote such a sad story in his book, he was from a very humble family who had little money for extras. They bought him a transistor radio one year. He lived at the blind school and came home for holidays on the greyhound bus. He was sitting waiting for the bus and someone saw his radio and stole it from him. How does a human being do that to a blind kid? I will never forget that story. I loved his music.
OMG !!! I absolutely love Ronnie Milsap , he has that voice that gives you chills , thank you for all the heartwarming and helpful songs , cuz a song could be like therapy to a young and confused young man , your songs let the sun shine thru those dark clouds , thank you , God bless 🙏🙏
Ronnie has stated that blindness allowed him to pursue music, rather than starting work at the sawmill at the age of 14, as many others did. Let that sink in, next time you feel discouraged.
Folks like Vince Gill have said that Ray Charles was their inspiration. Country music is soulful with its heart-felt lyrics and uncomplicated melodies and harmonies. Ray expressed that soulfulness. I wish Hank Williams could've heard Ray Charles sing "You Win Again." Roy Acuff didn't say anything other than that he "contributed greatly to expanding the influence of country music." Thank you Ronnie Milsap for speaking up (probably surprisingly) after Roy's tepid introduction and for giving Ray the high praise he deserves as a musician of the highest caliber.
Everyone forgets Don Gibson, a great song writer. Unfortunately alcohol an missing scheduled show appearances marred his reputation for great songs. He wrote so many.

We did a long time ago, but there's media trying divide us and create something that long died a long time ago and this proves it..
Amen I believe blind people are Gods way of showing the world we shouldn’t look with our eyes but with our hearts like you just said
......and then, who's the blind here? mm?
God broke the mold when he brought these two together
Theres more talent on that stage then all singers last 20 years
If Ray was still alive today in 2023 he would be 93 years old
Lets thank the great Don Gibson for writing these timeless classic tunes.

The Huckster kids get awfully defensive over their Florida Georgia line

With these two legends being blind was never a hindrance.
Throw Gordon Mote in there too

@@Lisa_MS64 Wow! Good point. Thank you for your comment.
@@csf7773 Please don't compare Gordon Motes singing, playing,or songwriting to Ray Charles..Let's leave it @ that.
Big hindrance but their character was able to overcome the hindrance.
