It should have been sponsored by 7-Eleven, but wasn't. Oh well.

If there isn't a 7-eleven near where you live, don't worry! Just do the #the711challenge near any small grocery store or convenience store. Through the power of 7:11 polyrhythms, all stores are 7-elevens.
Damn. My excuse would have been "the closest 7/11 is in Copenhagen", you've ruined it :p
"Cum together" @ 7:11
You used Mike Chen from Strictly Dumpling! I subscribe to his channel too and I'll bet he was talking about the 7-11s in Japan as they're famous for great food. I love your channel by the way. The more Adam Neely videos I watch, the more I’m convinced that he’s secretly an egomaniac that derives pleasure from flexing his rhythmic abilities on mere mortals
Secretly?
"Only available to those who put in the effort."
"Is it possible to learn this power?"
"Not from a classical musician."
Hey musicians are humans too :/
Nah he's really humble when you consider how insanely talented he is
@Jeff T Interesting, all I see on your channel is music from *other musicians,* yet you're talking shit about a highly skilled professional musician who actually creates music. By the way, lots of classical composers were shitposters of their time - take Mozart, for example, who created pieces such as "Lick the inside of my ass!" (roughly translated, it's "Leck mich im Arsch!", literally "Lick me in the ass!") and "A Musical Joke" ("Ein musikalischer Spaß").
It was a normal morning on my 7 11 job. I was just opening the store when I saw a hobo talking to a camera and counting weird time signatures. It ruined my day

I loved clicking along to the beats. The faster 7/11 beat is tough to get the timing down, with all those just off-beat right-hand clicks.

Samples ( 7/11 videos), layers (Each location of Adam continues what the previous Adam said, like a voice), and cohesion by making the point of the video wrap back to the introduction of the video, along with creating a real musical track that is an example of what the video is demonstrating. This is a gratifying and vindicating video. My music education did not include any practical tips for hearing or performing precise polyrhythms other than the 3:2 and 4:3. Anything else was handwaved away as "rubato," and for some styles of music that was fine. I worked my way up to clockwork versions of 3:5 and 4:7 by myself, using many of the same strategies described here.
I don't really get why classical music education doesn't insist more on polyrythms when so many modern composers use them, the most notable of which include Bartok & others.
Loved a lot of your content, but this is beyond good, the greatest thing. God bless you man and good luck to all you inspire

Shout out to Dave Clark's class at Berklee.
that's where i got it!
Ha, I've studied with Dave @ Berklee 10 years ago :-)
hey i learned this stuff many years ago, one of my first experiences was The black Page of Frank Zappa and next some works of drummers like Bill bruford and Mike mangini, in fact i printed a Berklee web Page all about developing independence with metric modulation where they analized a brufordss tune that has implied metric modulations.. until i met chris dave i was developing a way to improvisation with pollyrhythms, then i realized that in history we used only 10% of the rhythm palet available... any binary o triplet o quíntuplet o septuplet and so on rhytm can be reconstructed 'inside any other' polimetry (for example in 11:7 would be funny if its used in a tune in 7/8 where you can play triplets grouping the notes of the eleven pulse) and whith only that, and the correct way to internalize for a jazz way to improvisation, one can slowly learn to figure out how to play any rhythm in any tempo, maintaining the original tempo! i have barely seen other musicians and composers that could use the académic notion of metric modulation like Chris Dave in a context of improvisation, with full full acuraccy even mathemathically, and the fact that he just throw those modulations like an emotional jazz musical exploration
