    I never understood the hatred the community has for WW2 zombies. I tried it out in early 2020 with a friend of mine and we enjoyed EVERY BIT that this game had to offer. I was scared initially because of how some people made this game out to be, they'd say its the "worst zombies" or that the horror aesthetic was "tacky", but I would kill to have something like this again. Super enjoyable zombies mode from SHG!

      It's one of the tightest gameplays in the zombies selection. With not just quantity but quality content.
      I love the asthetic, and you can tell by looking at it that real effort went into this game's zombies.

      theres one major drawback to ww2 zombies, its customisation, it has too much to the point theres more customisation than the multiplayer

    • @CJSanta
      @CJSanta  6 месяцев назад +2

      @Ducky935 I think it's not a big issue because as much as you can edit the weapons, you can't spawn in with ANY of them, unlike Cold War.

    The problem with WW2 imo is that the game felt bland. The game mechanically is pretty good tbh and made smart innovations, but it just lacked character. The unique designs of perks, pap, mystery box, wall buys, and even the power switch helped me get immersed into the game.

    • @CJSanta
      @CJSanta  8 месяцев назад +10

      The asthetics is quite different for sure, but I would take it's darker gloomy take over the non-characteristic zombies we have now. Where zombies just seem slapped into any multi-player or warzone environment with no care at all.

    I think a cool perk system could be:
    •4 perk limit
    •Ww2 armour system replaces jugg
    •Automatic 3 self revives on solo to replace solo quick revive
    •speed cola and double tap baked into pack a punch but on first purchase not x4 like bo4
    •bo4 perks however they aren’t selected in menu and have physical machines in map
    •each map has a different selection of only 8 perk machines of the 17 total perks in the game and it’s the ones that are best suited for that map (no wunderfizz)
    •can always earn a fifth free perk through a side quest
    •can earn the modified version of all your perks in map by completing a challenge relevant to that perk after purchasing

  • @WoosleyNow
    @WoosleyNow 8 месяцев назад +8

    The problem really is when you have 9+ perks and a 4 perk limit. Even if you change things up when playing multiplayer you’re looking at Jug plus 3 other perks. Solo it’s worse typically bc it’s Jug and Quick, so only 2 other perks to choose from. Allowing more perks like 6 perk limit would greatly help this and not be OP.

    • @D3AL1O
      @D3AL1O 8 месяцев назад +4

      Or Jug could be it's own slot.

    • @CJSanta
      @CJSanta  8 месяцев назад +6

      Which is funny you mention because the self Revive system is separate from quick Revive in ww2. You can still choose to buy it for another pick me up, but it's already a separate mechanic.
      So, there is no need to buy jugg or quick in solo, ww2 does it well.

    • @pilotmender043
      @pilotmender043 5 месяцев назад +1

      Something people never discuss unfortunately is the balance of the perks themselves. Double Tap 2.0 I would argue is the worst offender in regards to the crutch perk issue. You have a flat 2x damage modifier and increased fire rate. It acts as a second, and much cheaper, PaP and the increased fire rate heavily encourages you to buy Speed Cola making you spend two slots instead of just one. People are so quick to jump to Juggernog when Double Tap 2.0 is obviously as much, if not worse, of a crutch perk than Juggernog.
      Double Tap 1.0 was fine as is the problem was that there weren't many single shot/burst weapons in BO1 Zombies that were good enough to combat the full auto meta. The ray gun plus the Double Tap upgrade is a really good combo and I wish there were more weapons in BO1 that would allow that increased fire rate to shine.

    It's genuinely ticks me off when people talk about CW being overpowering. Absolutely correct, but it's the PLAYERS choice. I often play with a four perk limit and no armor. That's the beauty of CW zombies, you have the CHOICE. You can have jug, you can have armor, or you can have both. You can have every perk, you can have 4 perks, you can have none. You can have sprinters round 1 or you can play casually. You can choose to destroy early rounds with a Gallo, choose to make it a bit tougher but still easy with a knife, or stick to the classic 1911. If you say you're bored with CW Zombies, it is your own fault. I get bored with Bo1 because there's nothing to do most often unless I'm playing CotD or Moon. I don't have that problem in CW. Because you have the freedom of choice

    • @CJSanta
      @CJSanta  8 месяцев назад +5

      Thats the same argument people gave for gobblegums
      "Don't like it, don't use it."
      It's no offense, a bad and lazy argument. When the devs create a system that is either lazy, boring or easily exploited the players would be inclined to take it because it's dominant strategy.
      Because the nature of zombies is to be replayable, repeated playthroughs are determined how the progression of the game will go.
      When that progression isn't fun, dominant strategy is used.

    0:42 it didnt , every perk gets increasingly expensive as you buy more and the point system isnt exploitable like og zombies so its balanced ( past 4 -5 perks you start paying above 6-8 k on a perk )

    • @CJSanta
      @CJSanta  8 месяцев назад +1

      The point system in cold war is completely broken. You'll find yourself being in the tens of thousands in the late teens early twenties when that was never the case before.
      The reason is because the point system doesn't operate based on damage, it's based on kills. Every zombie gives the same points perk crit kill.
      So the perks being more expensive with each buy doesn't mean much when you can get them all faster anyways and then are stuck with tons of points that you have nothing to spend it on.

    • @mysterydude8757
      @mysterydude8757 8 месяцев назад +2

      @@CJSanta I'm pretty sure the reason you have "more" points on CW is cause you have less to spend it on just being pap and perks. You already spawn with a weapon of your choosing so why hit box? You can also get the wonder weapon doing the quest. Objectively tho you can get more points in the older zombie games especially in the late teen's and early twenty's if you know what your doing.

    • @CJSanta
      @CJSanta  8 месяцев назад

      The issue is how they did the perk upgrades. Once you have all of them maxed out in the menu, and as there is no limit to how many you can perchance in a match, the game becomes far too easy.
      This problem only got worse over time with every new perk they added on every previous map.

  • @NeverStopGaming36
    @NeverStopGaming36 3 месяца назад +1

    Imma be honest... I'm a CW fan. I do think being overpowered makes the game fun, especially for casuals. I will say though that CW is just a normal game of zombies with every setting turned up to 11. The zombies are faster, you're faster, the game is faster, and it's round 100. I may have to make my own video in defense of CW at this rate. Also, this comment has nothing to do with WW2 zombies, so maybe just pretend this comment is connected to this entire video and not a 5 second clip prior to the dive into WW2 Jugg fix.

    • @defaultdan7923
      @defaultdan7923 3 месяца назад

      i’d say your comment is tangentially related (he did mention cw a few times in the vid) but i don’t think your opinion needs to be in contention with his. sure, cw might make the player op with every single perk, but that’s kind of the fun. cold war also has many systems to ramp up the difficulty over time, such as the zombies literally 3 hit downing you with jug and no armor. at the same time, ww2 keeps the benefits of not breaking the player with a 4 perk limit as well as having a new approach to jugg. different strokes, as always

    Dying Wish is not a crutch perk. BO4 does not have crutch perks. A crutch perk is a perk that makes all strategies of survival terribly difficult when lost. That is why they are called crutch perks, like if a person using crutches dropped them, they would have a terrible time.
    If you obtained every BO4 perk and lost them after downing, it would be less scary than losing ONLY Juggernog in previous games. Jugg is more essential to have than every other perk ever made combined.
    Quick Revive is a crutch perk before BO4 because if you down one time without it, your game ends.
    Double Tap II is a crutch perk as it makes you do twice as much damage with regular firearms, on top of speeding up some weapon animations and increasing fire rate and making AATs activate more often.
    I never use Dying Wish and it makes no difference. There are many superior perks such as Death Perception, Winter's Wail, Quick Revive, Stamin-Up, and Victorious Tortoise. People think Death Perception is bad, but it allows me to see where the enemies are before entering a doorway. You can even see through floors. If I can see all enemy types through walls, Dying Wish is made pointless. It's only purpose is for boss fights one is unfamiliar with. I find Dying Wish quite overrated, especially as it has very long cooldowns and is quite expensive. It doesn't even really help noobs either, as the cooldown will just increase, and they might down when the berserker form is over, and it costs 4000 points, which would also make it harder to get modifiers/Speed Cola.

    Some backtracking: I usually buy new games on Christmas. I save a bunch of money and then spend about $100 on games during Steam winter sales. I never buy games as they drop and I always buy games after carefully looking at reviews and gameplay. I never buy games that can't be replayed (no randomness, no choices etc) since I might as well just watch the gameplay on RUclips and save a ton of money. I don't buy games as they drop because their price will usually go down within 1 year and games are usually broken to some extent on launch.
    Actually comment: I got Vanguard, WW2 and Cold War for Christmas this year. I am only missing AW, IF, all MW games, Ghosts and BO1 + WAW. I started with Cold War and I was bored within 5 hours. Vanguard lost me within 3. But boy, WW2 was different. I got 65 hours in the 3 weeks I had off from work and I can't get enough of it. I usually play only zombies and I am not a big fan of FPS PVP, but WW2 made me play through the campaign and multiplayer without actually doing much. All 3 modes are wonderful and perfect.
    They have something for everyone. I really like the systems for specials, mods, perks, pack-a-punch and armor. They basically took what Treyarch created and fixed the issues that I had with it. They even fixed the issue where you are locked in with your perks until you go down. At this point, you don't even need to buy Quick Revive anymore if you are ok with using self revives. You don't feel too strong. There is some progression and I can play the same map 5 times in a row and not get bored. My internet is sh*t so I lose connection every 1-2 hours for about a minute, but I would totally go for high rounds.
    My only issue with WW2 is that mystery boxes take FOREVER to finish giving you the weapon, that there is no option for you to reject the box offer and that consumables are locked behind lootboxes. I would've liked if you could buy a lootbox for AC that only has consumables. I had no problem with being locked in place for 2 seconds when picking a perk in the middle of the match. You have the means to do that. You just need to think. It is casual enough so the majority of players to enjoy and understand easily, but also enough hardcore content for more hardcore fans to enjoy. And everything is optional. You may as well put on a special and mods that don't become active until yotu activate the special, not use it and voila. Same with consumables. You can equip them but not use them. I actually never used a consumable because I didn't need to.
    WW2 is the second best zombies game for me, only worse than BO3. The only reason why BO3 is higher is because of the amount of content we have (8 maps in WW2 and 14 in BO3) and the lack of mods and custom maps. Other than that, 9.5/10 game.

      I also think a way to improve the perk slot problem is to either add challenges to unlock the extra slots like Get 1000 kills for 1 extra slot then a new challenge for the next or add a heavy price tag behind the slots at a wunderfizz or such. Even just adding the extra perk slot powerup drop like in customs in bo3 could fix it maybe if restricted to after a certain round or being a mega rare powerup drop.
