Read Nuclear War: a Scenario by Annie Jacobsen. Actually, it's only been recently released, and there are tons of interview videos with her here on YT. The best is the one with Lex Fridman.
Faced with the poisoned apocalyptic world that would await any survivors of a full-scale nuclear war, former Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev said: ‘The living will envy the dead.’
You must have large antenna wires to accept EMP. The electrical grid would be most susceptible to this. Small electronic would not be affected. They generalize the effects of EMP in this program. It is also pointless to target hardened missile silos that are empty. Those warheads would be targeting actual military bases, command and control center, power stations, nuclear power plants, and naval shipyards. Also just about any major airport runway would get a strike as well. Comparing what happened at Chernobyl to a nuclear detonation is like comparing apples to wood flooring. It is nowhere near the same.
To those of us who lived through the 60s and have stayed in the information stream, your comment is full of holes. EMP effects were tested at high altitude. A two-mile altitude airburst will KILL ALL microprocessor activity that is not shielded by a Faraday cage. Also, silos that have fired their load can be reloaded. You hit them so they cannot be used to fire again. Major airports would NOT be hit unless they were staging areas for dispersed military strategic aircraft. You only have so many nukes, and you have to use them sparingly. Yes, a nuclear detonation is worse than Chernobyl, but it depends on Kilo tonnage of the weapon and height of detonation. Look at our first uses of the bombs. You can walk safely around both cities now. The main killing vector was blast and thermal damage. That was because they were air bursts calculated to do the maximum damage without the fallout. Do more research before spouting your misleading "facts" and internet half-a$$ed research.
I'm not an expert but I disagree with the statement about small electronics. Something like a cell phone I think would be just as if not more susceptible to every other device out there due to their compact and complex design which makes them more sensitive to smaller EM interference. If you're talking about small simple devices however, then yeah they probably would not be affected very much.
@@derpymcderpello5381 it would be nice to find a definitive answer to this question. I've only heard conflicting statements about the effects of an EMP on small electronics.
Most cars and trucks built before 1992 will survive (not GM products, however). Go to survival, vent window Ford trucks... one coat hanger, im in it and its starts in under 60 seconds.
5.5 billions dead after 70mins then nuclear winter for the northern Hemisphere.Only countries that will grow and sustain Agriculture is southern parts of Australia and New Zealand
Fictional videos and movies seldom make sense. The videos and photographs are illogical, but you have to use your brain and know it’s for entertainment purposes. This was well done though. 🇨🇦🖖🏻🇨🇦
The EMP would affect most of broadcasts but some fiber networks might survive because they are quite well shielded. However it would be meaningless as the real attack would occur within 3 minutes of the first EMP. 😮
Yeah but within 10 mins, whilst the missiles were in flight social media would go into overload before the first missiles took out critical infrastructure. You don't fire 100s of ICBM's without it not getting noticed in the US or Russia. On twitter/X , it would be trending within a few minutes.
It’s very important that the world leaders should have their skin in the game too. I would be more comfortable knowing that they would be amongst the first to die. We averted oblivion throughout the Cold War because we had leaders sufficiently sentient to know that to start a nuclear war is to immediately loose one. I am not so sure that our current raft of WEF Malthusian death cult members understand or even care.
I love it when he says the Cars will be stuck for hours maybe days 🤣 it will stuck forever. Get your head around it please. It would be the end. Full stop. Over and out. Gone forever.
My Dad was a Special Agent in the Air Force who spied on the Soviet Union. He gave me very graphic features of what WW3 would be like. This was back in the 70s, when it was still "Duck and Cover". I've come to like studying the types of testing that has been done from Trinity and beyond. We have had times when we have been a millisecond away from WW3. Someone simply chose not to turn the key.
Southern hemisphere will fare best. The main issue for continued survival would be the ability to produce food and water along with birth rates and infant mortality.
@@kevinowens6010 there are some who over estimate fallout. They tend to compare it to a nuclear disaster like Chernobyl or Fuchijima. They are no where close in comparison. Both Hiroshima and Nangasaki were rebuilt relatively quickly and are inhabited by more people now than in 1945. The issue with nukes is the destruction of infrastructure, the ability to produce electricity and the like. Major cities would be a place to avoid as they are completely dependent on rural farming to sustain them.
When I was growing up during The Cold War there was quite a bit of education about how to survive a nuclear attack and even a bit about surviving the aftermath. Now that tensions between the big nuclear countries are at a peak I dont see much on the topic. Perhaps Governments have given up educating the GP because they realise its futile. Having a large amount of survivors would be a bad thing for everyone.
😮🙏 In the event of an All Out Nuclear War ... The Quick Death ones seem to be the lucky ones as compared to those Slow Death ones who are going to suffer from radiation poisoning in the air , water , food , environment , lack of proper governance , lack of medical care , dying in isolation without communication & in a state of chaos & lawlessness , etc., etc., ... 🙏🕯🌍✌🕊
When I was about 13 back in 1984 they tested the air raid sirens in the city I lived in in Scotland. I nearly wet myself. Growing up in the cold war annihilation was always at the back of your mind, even from a young age
I imagine the decision to try to shelter and survive - instinctual - would be hard to resist but Lord, it would be better to not live to endure the aftermath.
I myself could never have the heart are here to the guts to push that button. I would be lying to all of humanity if I hadn't never thought about doing such a thing . We've all been mad as hell before over something in our lives. I will type this , May God please forgive me and everyone for being that mad in our thoughts
Well, this makes me glad I moved to Montana in the middle of no... oh. Wait, what? Dammit! Actually now way in SE corner (as if anywhere is safe). A few years ago when I did live along the Front Range, I travelled a lot up from Helena to Glacier Park and vice versa. Highway 89 flanks the mountains, far from the interstate and a nice route. One day coming down (southbound) into Augusta, I top the last hill and see what looks like an entire battalion of military armor/vehicles including a tank and an APC watching the road while they did something with the nearby silo.
Congrats, whoever made this documentary , outside of the misleading "huricane" scenes, instead of a shockwave, and the overpresure stripping your skin off the explanation is spot on, quite rare for a documentary on this topic. A concrete "panel"wall is more likely to be caved in at around 15ish Psi or about 10psi if facing the explosion straight on than a mamals lungs and internals are to suffer very serious baro trauma.
But they totally forgot about the shock wave from underground, the bedrock below is like a mirror and will reflect the shock wave back up strong enough to break bones and internal organs.
The "nuclear winter" theory is now being seriously questioned. Cooling from airborne soot would be very much noticeable but also short-lived (weeks, not years or decades.)
@@jackmeyhoffer5107 Not all bombs are thermonuclear. Honestly, if you've prepped correctly and researched about the topic, you dont have too much to worry about. In my opinion, a total economic collapse from nuclear war is scarier.

"YOU FINALLY DID IT - YOU BLEW IT ALL UP ! GOD DAMN YOU - DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL !" - Charleton Heston's curse upon our leaders, seeing the melted Statue of Liberty in "Planet of the Apes".
12 minutes. That's how long Russian ICBM's would take to hit American soil. Back when I was a kid in the 1970's, we had a whole 15 minutes until impact, but alas, technology. PS - For submarine launched missiles, it could be as short as 6 minutes.
I remember when I was about 9 going to friends of my parents. They showed us their underground bunker. I remember the water storage was like a little pool. I was confused as to why they had a pool under their garage lol. Middle of the Cold War back then.

I'd feel a little more secure if we also had a hundred 2.5 megaton M.I.R.V's as well mind !. 🤔
Most of the 50 year old missiles in the silos likely will not do well. That old design of fueling is very unstable. These silo missiles were meant to last 10 years, not 50…
I've wondered about that many times. Even SpaceX and NASA rockets (hell, any of them anywhere) malfunction or blow up ... and those are NEW, "fresh on the plate". Only logical to think a great number will fail in launches; if they get that far.
Russia modernized it whole nuclear missile fleet. All modern electronics. Another fun fact about Russia is its Perimeter system As soon as communication with the president and control are lost, the Perimeter system fires a single rocket across the whole Russia sending out the ultimate launch signal to every submarine, ground silo and mobile nuclear vehicle. Everything is heading to America.
I'd pour myself a large gin. Then I'd light one of the expensive cigars I've been saving for a special occasion. I know they're very bad for me but so are nuclear weapons. After that I'd kiss my ass goodbye and wonder for a few moments about the possibility of an afterlife. 5:50
😳Wow! It will be terrible an event that will never be remembered because all human brains will be vaporised. What will happen in Argentina, South Africa, and New Zealand?
Having been a kid in the 50's , remembering the Cuban missile crisis in '62, The Day After in '83 , the following crises throughout the 20th Century , the 21st starting out with Sept. 11.I look on nuclear war as a way of going out with a bang as opposed to dying in a hospice bed with tubes stuck into me.
3 to 5 well placed ground burst devices in the Mt range could trigger Yellowstone to go up. That would do far more damage than targeting the empty silos😮

In 1962 he sent this message to John F. Kennedy: "We will bury you".
Winter is coming
Might last 5 years
If anyone wonders if this will ever happen. Answer . has man ever made anything he hasn't used ! It's coming just a question of when
We already have🤷🏻
And it’s been prophesied in several places of the Bible, old and New Testament
@@chriswalford9228 he has used nuclear weapons. Ww2.
Incorrect. Certainly interesting, however there will simply never be an all out nuclear weapons involved conflict. Fact.
we used it twice already
Excellent presentation!
Every one of the fictional works used here should have an on-screen credit for its footage.
Glad you pointed out the impact of EMPs on small electronics .
And it would all be over in about 20 minutes.

...wouldn't the emp's disable tv broadcasts?
There wouldn't be any reports or pics of huge mushroom clouds.
As if the radio station staff would stay put !
They're saying that people will report missiles flying, not after they hit😂👍

They all have bunkers
They don't care about the citizens at all. They have their lavish bunkers, like many celebrities do.

Under Starmers reign many of us do already.

Indeed, and France & Israel have more than that.
There are also other nations that have nuclear weapons that he missed.

These people are under thr impression that there eill be survivors. No survivors. Nothing
Southern hemisphere will fare best.
The main issue for continued survival would be the ability to produce food and water along with birth rates and infant mortality.
Watch the movie On the Beach. Not the original. No place safe.
There will be survivors but you wouldn't want to be one of them.
@@kevinowens6010 movies aren't a source of truth 😂
@@kevinowens6010 there are some who over estimate fallout. They tend to compare it to a nuclear disaster like Chernobyl or Fuchijima. They are no where close in comparison. Both Hiroshima and Nangasaki were rebuilt relatively quickly and are inhabited by more people now than in 1945. The issue with nukes is the destruction of infrastructure, the ability to produce electricity and the like. Major cities would be a place to avoid as they are completely dependent on rural farming to sustain them.
The perfect good mood video☺️
If this scenario were to really happen at some point, I would also instantly become one with the universe
This is a well made video. Thx for it
I've watched Threads twice. If the missles start flying, I'd make sure I'm dying. What comes after will make the living envy the dead.

A strange game
the only winning move is not to play
Or to be near ground zero of one of the bombs. Instantaneous evap and no pain.
When I was about 13 back in 1984 they tested the air raid sirens in the city I lived in in Scotland. I nearly wet myself. Growing up in the cold war annihilation was always at the back of your mind, even from a young age
It’s astounding how close we are dancing on the nuclear brink.
I imagine the decision to try to shelter and survive - instinctual - would be hard to resist but Lord, it would be better to not live to endure the aftermath.
If you survive the physical consequences there is no chance that you are surviving the psychological consequences.

Half way through this you get newsflash of nukes strikes nice touch there.
did they just say China and N Korea have no nukes on alert? That is new to me.
actually this two countrys are in possesion of nuclear weapons but havent not a single one on alert that was true
N.Korea doesn't, no.
Nobody wins. It will be the end of the world as we know it.
It would be so horrific.
LOVE the Ending.
Yeah."spooky, crazy thing going on." That's how I always imagined nuclear war.
Pretty cool how you snuck in the emergency alert broadcast there at the end, there's nothing like tossing in some fear mongering. 👍😉

The "nuclear winter" theory is now being seriously questioned. Cooling from airborne soot would be very much noticeable but also short-lived (weeks, not years or decades.)
So you’re saying that a global thermonuclear war wouldn’t be so bad?
And , another opinion is that the dust clouds would hold heat in

12 minutes. That's how long Russian ICBM's would take to hit American soil. Back when I was a kid in the 1970's, we had a whole 15 minutes until impact, but alas, technology. PS - For submarine launched missiles, it could be as short as 6 minutes.
Depends. If launched from inside Russia it could take up to 30 minutes.
Russians have 12 to 16 nuclear subs patrolling on all sides of USA, they rotating them once every six months

All modern electronics.
Another fun fact about Russia is its Perimeter system
As soon as communication with the president and control are lost, the Perimeter system fires a single rocket across the whole Russia sending out the ultimate launch signal to every submarine, ground silo and mobile nuclear vehicle.
Everything is heading to America.
