Good idea on separating the different acts right away, according to the song. Also, I've found it efficient to listen to the song and put a marker at every beat, that way you can align footage to the music really quickly.
I liked hearing how you add in those last clips first. Also, dividing the parts up ahead of time and your workflow of throwing all the footage in right away. I had been trying a diff. Way from someone else’s suggestion and it isn’t quite my favorite. I’m excited try your suggestions. Thanks again!

I found your vid about shooting a wedding solo before my first solo wedding and I started culling my footage from that same wedding, preparing to edit, and I see this gem! Do not just add a cinematic crop to your videos. I did it for years and have finally just started to edit in a widescreen ratio. Just change your sequence frame to 1920x840 or so. Much cleaner look to the video!
What makes it look much clearer? I'm about to edit a wedding film, trying both out. What am I looking for when doing it?
Derek D You wouldn’t notice anything in editing other than the aspect ratio is different than you usually would edit in. But when you play it back on streaming services the black bars will be pure black. It also will play back in just the ratio in theatre mode. If your video will be played back on a streaming services, edit in the aspect ratio

Teppo, great tip on the ripple-delete technique. I’m editing a wedding video I shot a few weeks ago. Will def save me some time! Thanks! 👍👍👍
I use the same editing workflow BUT I have an extra step. I proxy all the footage in ProRes Proxy with the proxies you can really easy scrub trough all the footage really fast. Hope will be helpful for you :)) I use a MBP 15 2016 max spec and I find him really slow even for 1080p... Thanks for the tip with the ripple delete, didnt think of that!
Teppo I found it very interesting your way of selecting your clips from the start by loading everything on the timeline, for that trailer that's pretty awesome and practical. Congrats!!

I use almost the same workflow. i liked this video because its to the point no "jung talk" to fill the video. One point when you talk about the luts I would prefer to know for profile its made for . Thanks Teppo.

Just finished downloading about 40 wedding music after you said the site. My thing tho is I don't let the couple choose the songs I use....they might some request, but generally, I don't ask them what song to put in.

I just rewatched this great video, but I wonder how you deliver your films to your customers? Is it per e-mail, CD or an USB Stick?
That was extremely helpful, as far as the Trailer goes.However, I'm a little confused, do you film and provide a complete Wedding Video along with the Trailer? if so, how long does the actual Wedding Video usually run?

Love it. Totally agree about the phone needing to be in another room. One question: how often do you get requests for longer videos or for the full ceremony? I love the idea of a full video being the length of one song, but anytime I deliver a video that short they ask me where the rest of the video is...

For me using a Ryzen 7 2700 pc with a nvidia GTX 1650 Super, in Davinci Resolve Studioyou can use the gpu to export.. SO an hour of 1080 footage usually renders in less than 20 minutes. Give it a shot!

Hi Teppo! I got your reply! Thank you so much! I am heavily leaning towards the 6d mii now, even though it's a bit more expensive. The only issue I have is that the only lenses I have are the canon 10-18mm and the canon 50mm 1.8. I was wondering if those lenses would work on the 6d mii? Also I was wondering if those lenses are good enough for the quality of the camera. Should I sell those lenses and get another better lens? What are your thoughts?

what do you use to edit your videos?
In the thumbnail view of Premiere, if you click on the double arrow icon; you can sort them by name and solve that problem!
For ripple delete you can use close gap right?
Wouter de Koster Yes! I was looking to see if anyone had mentioned close gap. I’ve mapped it as a keyboard shortcut - very useful
What is the close gap
The moment you added the top/bottom crop-bars I have lost it all. Please. just put it on a timeline of the given aspect. Those black bars make it very bad to watch on an ultrawide screen or on a wider screen phone. I wish no one was doing it this way.

Hi Teppo!! This was amazing! I have been looking into getting an nd filter for my camera. What do you suggest? My largest threaded lens is 67mm. Is there a kit I can get with different attachments for different lenses so I don't have to buy more than 1 nd filter? Also, I have the Canon t3i and the Nikon d3200. They're both great cameras, but I've been getting into a bit of vlogging, and the t3i doesn't have slow-mo or AF during filming, and the Nikon d3200 doesn't have a flip screen. I want to sell both cameras and get either the canon 80d, or the canon m50. What do you suggest? Or is there a better option than the m50 or the 80d? I have a budget of $800-900. Sorry for such a long question :( Thanks so much!

I would buy an ND filter thats 67mm and you can then buy stepdown rings, there really cheap. That allows u to put the same ND on all your lenses. Id suggest getting the canon 6D mark 2! Its great for photo and video and probably can get it for quite cheap.

Haha well its quite likely people are gonna steer others towards their style or look of grading ;)
@@TeppoHaapoja yep, i totally agree and that's cool. It's okay also to sell luts but there ara few people on yt who show how to make a good lut in PS or LR(and a lot of people even do not know that!) So, that's an idea for you for the next video(a lot of views guaranteed :D)

Great tips Teppo. It shows that you make a lot of weddings, so great video!! I only have a quiestion, do you only make one video for the wedding? I mean, for me it's so easy to find an unique song and to make the edition, but it is so hard when I need to make a long video with 4 songs like the preparations footage, the ceremony, the party... Do you condense the entire wedding in just one song/video? This is one of my recent videos, so hard to edit!!
