BCU kills me , the songs they play in the 5th is songs that need to be played during the game , it’s a whole different ball game for the 5th honestly. I am guessing they have been doing it for so long that it is tradition.

As a Marching Wildcat alum I’ll admit that I cringe whenever we do 5th quarters because it’s always the same songs. But I learned to accept it over time. I’ll give TSU the W in the stands simply because of song selection. That’s the only thing that gives them the edge. We’re not a “stands” band and nothing is going to change. If all you’re going to do is bash us then simply don’t watch our shit. Fact of the matter is NOTHING is going to change. Most of the calls we’ve gotten were for our work on the field (NFL, Super Bowls, Netflix), not because they were impressed by our song book. Hence why most of our focus is on halftime. Our sound, musicianship, and marching & precision is second to none. We put out a consistent product every single year. So that’s why I ain’t trippin about our song book. If you don’t like it then simply don’t watch our videos...
Look we respect that..yall arent the only band getting that type of publicity tho..other hbcus do similar work..tsu did a special wit cedric the entertainer and it's on netflix...and tsu plays at Titans games yearly and countless other events throughout the year that's great publicity for the school...and yet they still play a variety of music..shiiit the band world just wanna hear what else BCU got..we all musicians..u slow or stupid if u dont feel where im coming from..i aint hating ..im a fan or hbcu music programs and bands period.

Marco Thompson Different strokes for different folks. But I can assure you that nothing will change under the leadership of Donovan Wells. Not playing new stand tunes isn’t hurting the growth of the program lol. Nor is it making Wells lose any sleep at night. We continue to have a great fan base and history of success. Y’all already know what to expect. If you don’t like it, just don’t click on the RUclips links.

TnsU just did the closer for the Keith Urban concert last week and did an Inauguration performance at the AKA National Conference a couple months ago. Bethune Cookman isn't the only one that gets things done. Like Marco said, they did a special with Cedric the Entertainer and it's on Netflix, they play at NFL games yearly, and when they got their name the "Aristocrat of Bands", it was from their performance at a Super Bowl. So there is no excuse to try to say that halftime performances are what people really look at. If the band is consistent all around, then there wouldn't be a need for a rebuttal.
The first time I saw TSU I was a freshman in NCA&T marchingband when they were 200 strong back in the late 80s( yeah I am old lol) you never forget your band memories

I stopped watching them about 3 years ago because I had seen EVERYTHING they have already did or played. I come back today, and nothing changed! Wells is great and he has been an awesome asset to this program, HOWtfEVER, they have gotten all they can get out of him.

To say that BCU is not a stand band is not true they sound solid and all ways get hype when I see them, they have the prettiest dancers , I love that wildcats song, but don't get it twisted they going to get blown out by NCA&T coming up

Mahthias Fountain it is about the musicality....which cares about playing the same songs over and over it's alot of bands that do that so what? it's not about who plays the same songs over and over it's about who sound good. I rather hear the same songs over and over than to hear a band that's over blowing and, out of tune and have different instruments hanging over all the time
@@tylermiller6560 Sorry, BCU haven't played anything that allows one to ascertain their technical capabilities. They keep it simple by playing the same songs every year. They arrange the music with that concerto symphonic type sound. People want to hear popular music arranged that way as well. Of course they sound good playing a song they've mastered over the decades. Do you honestly feel the fans wish not to hear other music? Vice Versa, etc tired and worn out. Btw, did you read comments from BCU alum on this video? They feel the same way. Read BCU own alums commenting they want them to play popular music.

I’m just trying to figure out why some of the dancers for TSU aren’t dancing. Just sitting there smiling on certain stands being thrown and dancing on others 💀. Very sloppy and very distracting. Make sure everyone knows the counts or either A. Don’t throw those counts or B. Don’t let them perform the game. Just looks bad.

My cousin is on the team sitting on the back row. This is her freshman year and she said the coach had some of the rookies sitting during the stands that weren’t taught to them but she put them out there just to get a feel for what it is really like.

Michael Steward stop lying. Sound quality was stellar for both schools. They just have different styles. Thats why song selection was the ticket to winning the battle.

Why is the BCU footage running at 60 fps but not the TnSU footage? It makes the movements, especially of the dance girls, a little unfairly judged in my opinion. Just an observation.

Tsu... Over blowing, intonation issues, holding notes too long, tone issues. So much more to add. BCU can play anything and beat them. They have an amazing full BALANCED sound. New or old music. BCU ALL day. There is no comparison and nothing else to see here.

Robert Clark it has everything to do with the angle. If you are at the bottom left near a tuba, of course the camera is gonna pick up the tuba more than the rest of the band. Be realistic. I’m not trying anything. Go look at the clip where the camera is at a distance from both bands and you will hear a clear difference
Green Hornet overblowing, intonation issues, tone issues and hanging over are fundamental issues. They have NOTHING do with playing songs over and over. Good sound only come from fundamental execution.

James Robinson Tsu sounds consistent every year no matter what size. The musicianship is almost equal. No overblowing or hanging over from either school. Just different style
