Coming from one of your MEAC cousins, good and solid show BCU. For those calling your show boring, must not have watched any of the other shows that came on the field during this event at ASU. The one thing that can't be denied is that you guys and FAMU know how to actually put on a show and let folks see what real music is suppose to sound like. Some think that if you not cranking you boring. It's one thing to be loud (won't call any names who may have been at this event), but it's another thing to be loud and good and that's what I can appreciate about BCU. This is all despite the fact that you traveled to Alabama for this event on Sunday right after being in Tennessee playing Tennessee State on Saturday.
I agree with a lot of what you said, I am a fan of real music, not volume (being load is easy to do like you have said..). This was a solid show, I think they could do more in a show like other bands but what they bring to the table, they execute very well in comparison to their counter-parts.
I concur with your entire statement. Fans act if they must give their Classic showcase to wow or play beyond their range to be heard. As a Wildcat, I will miss the MEAC for it's diversity of musicianship. Most importantly Norfolk State.
That Spend the Night just keeps getting better and better. Maybe I’m just getting old but sound quality has become THEE major factor for me. Maybe you all should try closing your eyes and just listen to the music. The sound was amazing and second to none.
Oh YES GOD! The field show has not been the same since their transition. There was no better announcer and will never be. His voice, articulation, and occasional read..... was the BEST.
Great sound. Sounds like spend the night had a slower tempo from last time I heard it. The lines weren't quite as straight as I was expecting. But I'm sure that'll be fixed as the season progresses.
I actually liked this show. Even though it's typical Cookman, I liked the show. The music selections was great. The arrangements sounded a little more articulate and not muddled with hella chords.
@@jalensimms9574 cool. Just maintain good grades. Contact the school and get all of the admissions requirements. Prepare for act/sat and then apply. Good luck to you.
Another great performance but just so boring these field shows almost put me to sleep 😴 the level of playing is great not sure if it’s the arrangements or the lack of intensity but BCU is selling themselves short with a stranger like some of the other schools and giving people like wells or whoever has these kids scared to play would let them be one of the most entertaining bands to watch.
Band Troll I’m pretty sure it’s just the video fam. Idk if it’s because we’re so clean or the way we’re set up or wat but vids never seem to capture how loud we actually are 🤷🏾♂️
I was led here from an write up in the Omaha World Herald since Bethune Cookman is playing the Huskers in football on this Saturday the 27th October. Wanted to check out the band due to it's notoriety. Did not watch the whole post, disappointed. Not sure if twerking should be a standard for marching bands, feel it degrades their otherwise talent and lacks professionalism. Specially do not care to see guys twerking. Perhaps it is best they are not able to make the trip to Lincoln.
Well sir, you in contrast to the plural of fans of Husker Nation disagrees and also you seem not to be too familiar with HBCU show band culture in addition to its regional influence. Given a opportunity with a rematch plus paying for the marching band's travel arrangements, I guarantee standing ovation from those in Husker Nation for such performance. May you continue to grow as a journalist with many successes in the near future and beyond.
BCU has a big, rich, powerful sound. Kind of like a Bose stereo system. Good video.
Kras 4 Oh Yes 👌🏾 #LikeABoseStereo 🔊
I was there... The crowd really enjoyed them. They was worth the wait. And they were LOUD AF
And half the band on the side of the field.
Them boys not loud.....
mefool56 TM You sure?

They simply stick to their pedigree. Can't do nothing but respect that. Your point Is well-taken though.

@Showtimeweb It's was good to meet and talk with you at ASU. Thanks for all the great footage.
Cookman has a big rich sound. I enjoy listening to them over most bands and I’m a 100 fanatic.
Man y’all harsh on BCU but who was better? And I’m fromNSU...good solid show BCU!
Bring back Horatio... in stereo!
Hyp Kreationz I 💯Agree

R.I.P. HORATIO 🎙️
Flawlessly executed.

What's the name of that second song
Im shocked they actually playd a song dats out now!!!
I was thinking that as well.
They play current songs every year during the field show, however in the stands they play the same songs yearly.
At 7:44 if you look real closely in the middle you can see a trombone player losing part of there trombone lol
BCU!👊💯
I thought they had a solid show, and the sound was good. Didn't see last year, so I can't compare. Announcer has a distinctive voice

Spend the night sounds like Famu version
Anthony Bosley You must have bad ears. They sound nothing alike at all
Nothing close to FAMU’s version lol
No where near our version 😂
It sounds nothing like FAMU's version
Nothing like it all. What are you hearing?
Let the band grow Wells you got a whole band on the sidelines.
Kc having a sideline keeps the band competitive vs just letting everyone be on the field
@@Narasukedon facts. That’s exactly why we do it lol
That was the same music as last year. Disappointed. The “announcer” is terrible, he sounds like a WWE event announcer, very unprofessional.
Casey Smith what songs were played from last year that obviously aren’t in their book? i(e. Let’s Go, Spend The Night, and In The Stone?)
Truth is we had High expectations from them and they didn’t meet them 🤷🏾♂️
Bcu sound like famu 1998 please don't let famu get they 98 size back and sound it's over for the meac 💯💯💯💯💯
200 plus
that was kinda weak Cookman...…..
Good sound, Spend the night was kind of bad. Overall a 6/10
Ted Williams Huh? You’re kidding.
Big boring
Ehh
