I'm a "fit and acitve" 52 year old woman who just had my 2nd stroke less than 2 weeks ago. My first one was an eye stroke in 2009. This time I was diagnosed with PFO among other things.. and still pending. Many follow ups to come. This is not my first rodeo being sick. I have stage 3 CKD, I had stage 3 cancer in 2005.. the list goes on, despite me being extremely proactive in my self care for decades. This is very interesting to me and extremely easy to understand and follow. I've watched many of your videos. You have a gift and are truly an asset to the world. You're a gem.💎 Thank you! ❤🙏🏽

God bless you Sarah!!! You have no idea how amazing you are and how you have blessed many of us with your straightforward explanation on topics that can be so overwhelming. I wish I knew about these videos in my undergraduate nursing school years. I have been an RN for 6 years and now am in graduate school and will be graduating in May of 2019 with my masters in Family Nurse Practitioner and I love reviewing your lectures since it refreshes my memory. Again thank you so much!!!!
I'm a student nurse from South Africa... Your videos are so helpful, you explain all conditions so well and make it so much easier to understand. Thank you!
Your lectures are just amazing, turns out they are not as boring as our lecturers tend to make it. I don't know maybe it's the simple words that you use to describe complex phenomena. I'm in my 2nd year of nursing and I credit you for everything I've learnt. Keep up the good work. PS: Quizzes are the best.
Thank you so much for all your videos!!! I've been using them all throughout nursing school! Currently, I do SO MUCH BETTER on exams in medsurg when I include watching your content as part of my studying!
This video came at a perfect time. I take my SCRN exam in January. This served as a basic review to go along with my other study material. I have been watching you since nursing school and have never been disappointed. Your videos are great!
Thank you SO MUCH! I've just completed my nursing training (whoo hoo) and I'm about to start my new nursing job at an amazing hospital, doing the nursing rotation programme and I've just found out I'll be on a stroke ward. I really needed this 🙌. You have been such an amazing help over these last 3 years, you'll never really know how much you are appreciated. All the work you do and put in. With all my heart, thank you so much x

Hello Sarah, I am a Registered Nurse too from UK, I look after stroke patients and was very excited when you uploaded this video, I am a fan. To be honest, it is very rewarding at the same time it can be very stressful and heavy at the same time looking after stroke patients. Our system is same as yours we also do thrombolysing depending the type of the stroke as you mentioned and we have a 4 hour window. I am planning to go back to uni to get my masters degree as Advanced Nurse practitioner. Thank you again thumbs up.
Thank you so much for doing this! Every time when we cover a new topic, I come here and search for your videos and it is so helpful! I recommended to all my nursing friends!
THAN YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS COMPREHENSIVE VIDEO. I HAD A RIGHT SIDED STROKE ALMOST 4 YRS AGO. I was a nurse for 22yrs. in 1995 I blew out discs in my neck and lumbar, then developed cfids and fibro. In ALL symptoms I developed ,occasionally falling, loss of balance I attributed to deconditioning. well I am 67 yrs old I am hoping to get some more help. thank you for this information
You are a blessing in disguise. Thank you for being an awesome teacher and love all your video. I passed my med-surg 1 because of you. So, thank you again and bless your heart.
I love your videos. I do know enough relative to this one to produce my own lecture. Some stroke patients may have smaller areas of visual deficits which may preclude them from driving, leaving enough of a minor blind spot to pose an accident risk. Smoking and oral contraceptive use=16x stroke risk. It is possible to see a user of both have a stroke in their 20s. A layer of the arterial wall is made of collagen and elastin. You need vitamin C for collagen fibers to stick together. Smoking depletes vitamin C, as well as damaging the endothelial layer. Cholesterol patches the potholes, and calcium will smooth the bumpy patch job, reducing elasticity while blocking blood flow.
Thank you Nurse, I am an interpreter and finds this very useful for my profession, as It helps me to have a general understanding of the condition and terminologies that are used with it. Thanks!
You are AMAZING. Seriously - thank you for all the time you put into these videos. They've made such a difference, not just helping me know disease processes, but also helping me understand how to think as a nurse and what information is important to focus on. I've recommended you to many of my nursing friends and I'll continue recommending you until the freaking apocalypse. You. Da. BOMB!

So when you mentioned that TPA could not administered with recent use of anticoagulants my ears perked up! lol Great job Sarah!
