Just bought the 6 with the 3D g-10 handles and I love it. Unlike many blades the tang under the scales is not skeletonized but solid. The coating is excellent and being 1095 it is very tough!
That seems to be a useful knife. Thanks for showing. I´m using the KA-BAR BK7 with custom micarta handle and kydex. Built like a tank. Love it. Greetings from Germany! Stay healthy!
Excellent company ESEE is. With a lifetime warranty. I have been putting mine to use know for over 7 years off and on. Nice demo. The 5 is a boat anchor LOL. Stay safe brother
Just ordered my Esee 6. Also ordered the molle sheath with pouch. You could order a Randall 14 for $600.00 and wait 5 years for it or get a 6 for just over $100.00.right away. I also like the fact that you can order different handle scales for it. I also agree that the 6 would make a good defensive fighting knife. Best knife in this price range.
Great choice! I've got the RC-3, RC-4, RC-6, Izula (their original company name was Rat Cutlery before they rebranded as ESEE, hence the RC in the model designations) as well as an ESEE Izula II (with the longer handle), the ESEE Lite Machete, and the Cadiru. My RC-3 is a special edition version with black blade and orange scales for their forum members called the Rat Pack, with my Rat Pack member # on the scale screws . Absolutely awesome knives and the company owners Jeff Randall and Mike Perrin are down to earth, no BS guys. The "Rat" in Rat Cutlery stands for Randall's Adventure and Training. Years ago they licensed the knife designs to the Ontario Knife company, which is why you'll also come across the Ontario Knife Company (OKC) versions of the RC-3/ESEE-3, RC-4/ESEE-4 and I think a few other models. Those models are called the Ontario RAT 3, RAT 4, etc. The OKC versions cost less but the fit and finish isn't as good, and I don't remember if they offer a warranty similar to ESEE's no BS Lifetime Warranty. Rat Cutlery rebranded to ESEE to distinguish themselves better from the Ontario Knives version,. More history on the company can be found on their website at www.eseeknives.com/about-esee-0. (I'm not affiliated with the company other than being a fan of their products and a member of their online forum community, though I haven't been active there in years.)
I love my esee 6. I have a few much “nicer” more “expensive” camping/bushcraft knives, but my esee 6 is my all around go to knife. I baton oak with it on a regular basis and can still shave hair off my arm with it. If I had one complaint it would be that I can’t spark a fire steel with the spine, but if I were going to Mars and could only take one knife it would be the esee 6.
@@chrisoutdoors333 I removed the coating on mine then forced a patina. Just sanding the blade and spine with a sanding block made the spine sharp. Also a noticable difference when slicing food and during use.
Just got my ESEE 6 with the 3D micarta handles - it's an amazing knife. It's a perfect size...not too big, not too small, and not too heavy. Easy to carry weight-wise, very well balanced and a great edge out of the box. Can't really ask for more. I like the sheath, but also ordered the molle one with a pouch as well (although they forgot to put in 2 of the 4 screws on the pouch - oops). I have a Ka-Bar 1277 large bowie (9" blade), and that thing is a beast....too unwieldly for really anything other than chopping and batoning large pieces of wood.
I just bought the Esee 5, arriving tomorrow. We'll see... I'll be using it more as a survival knife for bug-out bag which is why I didn't go Esee 6, though now I want the 6 too for more everyday use. Ugh.
I keep, love, and abuse the hell out of my ESEE-5 as a camp knife. It goes on hikes with me when I'm out gathering wood and stays in a Hedgehog Leatherworks sheath. Because of the leather sheath I actually use Otter Wax or other fabric waxes to keep the blade safe without slowly eating away the grain on the leather. Dope video; keep em coming Edit: spelling
I understand people have different opinions about the handle, but let me say it wasn't made as Bush craft knife it was made for pilot rescue type of stuff ,with that said I love the handle it's comfortable and fits great ,maybe the guys complaining about the handle having small hands idk .
You should check out the Glock 78 or the 81, they’re both affordable and they’re indestructible. Made in Austria. Those are also great equalizers and all around chore knife 🤘🏻
@Nicholas Rodriguez because sometimes dulling your blade when you already have an axe is pointless hahah and a saw makes it easier to get lively pieces of wood overall i see more tacticool in it
Have you seen the new contoured handles esee is using? Are you happy with current ergos or do you think new handle material with palm swell a good upgrade ?
Why is everyone's Esee 6 micarta scales a nice dark grey or charcoal black? Mine was like that but it's now a solid black and I've only had it for 1 week.I absolutely love this knife and is my prized knife of all time. I would never part with my Esee 6 knife ever.
Question: why would ANYONE ever be in a situation where he/she had only one blade (cutting tool) at their disposal (other than abysmal forethought, planning and preparation)? There is ALWAYS the option of having/getting the right tool for the job. Why would one choose a knife to do loads of jobs, some with difficulty, others not terribly well, and some OK, when you can have the proper tools to do those jobs better, easier and expending fewer calories?
Esee makes fantastic knives for the price and their warranty is second to none. I don't have a 6, but do have a 4 and a Junglas 2. I EDC a Fallkniven F1X and keep its big brother A1X in my Frost River shoulder bag.
I have an Esee 6 I like it but, I like my Coldsteel Leatherneck sf more. I have had the Coldsteel for at least 17 years. It is always good to have a good fixed blade.
Wondering if you have handled the newer ESEE contoured handles and what your opinion is? Like them or prefer the original handles? Enjoy & Appreciate all the videos you do and how you live life!
Sorry, but the ESEE5 is “THE ONE KNIFE TO RULE THEM ALL”. You’ll find your ESEE6 bending under the stress, while the 0.250” thick ESEE5 shrugs off the big tasks! Been using my 5 for over 10 years.
I just ordered this knife. My first real knife in a long time. Last one in stock. The version I ordered was “ ESEE-6S-B BLACK PARTIALLY SERRATED FIXED BLADE W/ GREY LINEN MICARTA HANDLE, BLACK SHEATH “from TKC . it’s supposed to be here day after tomorrow . That price is unbeatable
I'm hoping to get an Esee 6 someday. Might also get the 3 for everyday carry. I don't normally carry a small fixed blade but I would definitely carry an Esee 3. For now though I'm content with my Ontario Tak 1 as my big fixed blade. I'd also like to get a Bradford Guardian 3 for EDC.
Totally agree with you , had mine for years and had been used and abused In central , South America and the Caribbean and have never fail to perform , I have only altered the original contour of the scales and usual sharpening ( diamond/ceramic/stropping ) and rust preventive oil 💪🏼💪🏼

And thank you very much for featuring my photo!

This is some DBK territory, especially with the kindling. Awesome content.
Definitely not getting sick of these videos. Anyone who says they are is lying lol. I appreciate the continued content man Rock on
Advanced knife bro would be proud of that batoning
i love my Ranger RD7 as a one tool option
Splurged while on vacation in Tennessee and got me a FDE esee 6
That intro is fire, loving this lockdown knife week video idea
That intro is badass man.
I recently got the same knife, love it.
Also I love the Bradford Guardian5.5
I’ve had my Esee 6 for a long time as well, and it’s also my go to fixed blade.

Been in the market for a good outdoor knife.. Just purchased one off Amazon...based on your recommendation..... thank you...
would love to see a video on the the daily customshop sak
And I agree great for self defense, I carry mine for that reason mainly, then to do what needs done .
I stripped the factory coating and cold blued the blade and added a set of custom grips from TKC. Now it's perfect.
What oil do you use to keep the rust off?
I have esee 6 ,the black coating has been removed, due to overuse,, what do we do, to make black again
I love my Cattaraugus 225Q it does everything and its 70+ yrs old.
I have one of those too! The blade is rusty though, trying to figure out how to repair.
Talon will you do a knife you wood keep on a plate carrier ..thanks

Did you look at the BK2 as an option?
@@sgtmusic Yes, but opted for the esee.
are you going to do a video on the esee-3.? love the video keep up the great work.

How does Cudeman compare to ESEE?
My favorite too
My go to is my ESSE 5, awesome video
you should try finding a knife with a serrated edge for a more survivor focus
@Nicholas Rodriguez because sometimes dulling your blade when you already have an axe is pointless hahah

Very nice!!!
What happened to the stuff and things episode counter??😥
That stopped weeks ago at episode 499
Have you seen the new contoured handles esee is using? Are you happy with current ergos or do you think new handle material with palm swell a good upgrade ?
The Knife Connection has custom scales for Esee knives
The OEM linen micarta is easy to contour as desired.
I have the Esee Izula,3,4 and 5. Told myself i was not gonna get the 6 but if course now I need one. Thanks.
Yes, mine is the ESEE 5!
GO TO THE KNIFE CONNECTION AND GET SOME G 10 HANDELS FOR THE ESS6 THATS WHAT I DID
The Esee G10 3D handles are so sweet
You forgot about their bomb ass warranty too lol.
Facts. Basically blow it up and they will still fix it or replace it lol
Loving these knife videos man. Ever since you announced you were doing these daily I've been looking forward to watching them daily
I stripped the factory coating off my ESEE 6 and cold blued it. I also put some custom G-10 scales from TKC and got a nice kydex sheath.

People hate on esee so much but it really is a good company even though they aren't using super steels
Can we do this for at least a month

Bud, where is your chopping block?
I was thinking that too...what happens when you baton into a knotty piece of wood and get down to the concrete?
I just bought one! Excited to do some bushcraft
Great. Now I want one and I’m already too poor. Stuff it, I’m getting one!
And the Esee warranty is what all humans on earth wish every warranty was...THE BEST..bar none!

I have a beautiful ESEE-6 in Venom Green with scales from "The Knife Connection" in International Orange. Enjoyed watching you beat on your blade.
Esse is all time favorite for fixed blades. Esse Xancudo S35VN is my EDC Fixed blade. I really need to pick up the 6 . Esse 4 is my personal favorite
Mine is a Cold Steel SRK for about 25 years ish.
I wish Esee made them in 3V steel...
Your out in the woods lost and u are expected to lube the knife?
Yes, why not? Keep some chapstick in your pocket. A little bit on the blade is all you need.

I have an Esse 6 and it’s safe to say I haven’t taken good care of it. What would you recommend to take rust out of the blade?
Sharpening. Unless the black coating has come off some how and rusted then you might need to use some chemicals.
My izula does work to everything about that company is just pure quality also dopest vlog in the game keep grinding love everything you put out their
What are you guys doing at campsites where you have to stab someone lol
