    Glad you are safe - the wildfires seem fierce in Cali this year. Tred lightly

    Great video Apache. What type of bird is sitting in that big nest near the end of the vid? A rare species?

    did you climb Castela, or stay on the PCT? If you stayed on the PCT, you missed out...on of the best views in Shasta County, besides the Shasta View...
    Edit: NM...played about 1minute, found out about the fires...sucks...you missed out...

    Hey Biopthera, have you been able to tell how well the water-resistant down in your quilt is working? Do you think its worth it?

    Watchout for the fires in Pacific Northwest going on right now. Its been keeping me from doing my backpacking this summer.

    is the drought still in the south west ? I don't get much news here in canada .

    Ok, those bears were way too close AND it was a momma bear with cubs! You can see how easy it must be for fires to catch and burn out of control because of the dry grass and brush. Be careful.

    Joe What kind of watch did you use on your PCT thru hike?

    • @BackcountryBanter
      @BackcountryBanter  8 лет назад

      +Craig Beulah I just use a cheap timex ironman triathlon. It is compact, waterproof, and tells the time well... and that's about it. Although the alarms are useful too I suppose.

    How do I send you packages????🌲

    • @BackcountryBanter
      @BackcountryBanter  10 лет назад

      I'm looking into where I can get packages shipped. It's just really complicated right now, because most places only take one type of carrier (ups) and it's hard to figure out where I'll be. I really appreciate this though! I'll figure it out soon.

      Biophthera I"d like to send you one too, UPS is no problem for me. Just tell me when, where, and anything special you want/need.
      I'm using craig's pct planner for my own hike so I am familiar with most the shipping locations in Oregon.

      Ok... Finally got ahold of the Washington resupply info. If you would still like to send a package, I would be extremely happy to receive one! Skykomish Washington is a much needed resupply point for me and should give you plenty of time to put something together. It's about a 100 mile stretch (4.5 days) to the next town. I'll try to stay in touch, but signal up here has been very limited.
      The address would be:
      Joseph Brewer
      C/O General Delivery
      Skykomish, WA 98288
      Thanks so much!

      Christian T. Great! I'd really appreciate it. Washington is going to be extremely sparse on the resupply front, so this would help out a lot. I think Snoqualmie would be a great place if you would still like to send a package. It's about a 4 day stretch from there to the next town. If you need more info, I'll be in Cascade locks in about 6 days. Any food would be very much appreciated.
      The mailing address would be:
      Joseph Brewer
      C/O general delivery
      Snoqualmie, WA 98068
      Again, thank you
      Joe

      Biophthera I'll send it off after you pass Cascade Locks, let me know if there is anything special you want or need. I'll probably just pack it full too, better to have too much so you can share than too little.
